Here is a link to the latest RUU from Sprint.
You cannot simply extract it. This still has root since it is a test release. I recommend just doing an adb pull of your system directory after you flash it. Don't do this when the final one comes out or else you might be stuck without root.
You will need to add busybox, patch sh and su, and make sure that you do another recovery image and such. I also recommend adding Superuser.apk and stuff. If you use the Desire build.prop, you can get most of the protected apps working.
Enjoy.

this was posted on the other thread before it was deleted...but, is there any advantage with an RUU release vs a the reg custom rom update.zips for the average user (i.eone who just flashes roms)?

Anyone with a few hours, moderate computer literacy and google at their disposal could turn this into an update.zip
damageless, I appreciate your forthcoming with this... I do find it to be very unfortunate the circumstances under which this had to be released. Regardless whether you intend to remain involved with this community or not, best of luck.

Damage, Glad to see you back and hope you stay. You have always been honest and forthright about the leaked RUU and why you wouldn't/couldn't release to everybody. It is so rare to run across somebody who embodies the highest qualities of honesty, integrity, loyalty, and generosity. You have shown that by sharing your information and talent with the community to help troubleshoot and refine the 2.1 update.
It is an atrocity that a few jealous ingrates have managed to destroy this and future opportunities. This is what happens when people expect everything handed to them, without having to work for or earn it. Whatever happened to personal responsibility, your word being your bond, helping someone just because they need it, not because you can get something from it, honor and integrity?? Welcome to the new America..........
Anyways, I hope you stay and continue your great work, if not, I understand that as well.....................

Ok, first off, lets say I have respect for the man.
Second, get off his nuts, and third he was most likely approached by someone who leaked the files to him in exchange for anonymity. He didn't work for them any harder than anyone else. He got boned for being trusting. It sucks and ruined a good thing for the rest of us!.

Scott had locked both of his threads thanks to a few xda members who had problems, and decided to take it out on him.
I think those people who blamed him should apologize, instead of being selfish and ruining for us all.

Yeah congratulations morons
*golfclaps*
I'm amazed at how some people can act like little children.
I never used any of Scott's work before but I've heard he turned out some pretty kickass stuff.
*sigh* People will never learn.
When people ignore mods telling them to knock it off, you know it's not going to end well.
Maybe a timeout for a day or two will let cooler heads prevail in the end.
I understand, if I was in Scott's position I would probably do the same. I just thinks it's funny how things clearly say what to do, and someone still messes it up.
I just sucks that people have to take it so far as to blame the dev for not doing something. When it for one flashing any thing has always been at your own risk, and two getting pissed off, and posting a nasty thread instead of just asking for help politely.

I'm pretty sure he is on his rom forums, maybe, just maybe if those people apologize, and we all ask nicely he may come back.
His work is great, I mean the s3 forums are donating to get him a phone. That alone should say something.
Now we are down to, we'll one sense rom that is kept up. And our aosp roms which can't progress much more without source.
Sent from my HTC One X
This totally blows. His roms were great and that's all I rocked since the very beginning. I can't blame him at all. Hopefully within time maybe he can return. There are plenty of people that are greatful for his time and work.

I agree... Ban them, god I hope Scott comes back, one of the only reasons to keep this phone. I was worried and stated that this could happen, I saw it in the Vivid thread.
I hope he reads this and realizes that there are way more that appreciate his work more then complain about it. If he did leave I can't say I blame him, just hope it doesn't happen

So I have a few choice words that I think this entire forum should read, but its mainly directed to whomever was talking crap about Scott. And I don't know who it was. And I apologize for the occasional profanity, but its stuff like this that really hits home for me.
As developers, we try to enhance the user experience of our phones for the good of the community. We don't get anything out of developing besides the occasional donation that someone gives us since they like our work. We aren't forced to do the work that we do. I can turn around right now and cease all development on the two ROMs I do (AOKP and Evervolv) for this phone. But I don't. Want to know why? Because of all the people in the threads saying "Wow, this ROM is awesome! Thanks Rohan!" and "This made my phone really awesome! Thanks!". If I didn't have those people then I wouldn't feel like updating the ROM. Even if you aren't using my ROMs and you drop in to say "This looks awesome, though I will wait for more stability!" That feels good too since you know someone still liked your work.
When you have someone calling you "selfish" and "annoying" it gets to you. When you put your work out, you want it to be the best. When it isn't the best, you try to make it the best. Thats why I and every other developer on XDA update and fix bugs. We want the ROM to be the best it can be. Thats why I stay up regularly till 2 AM looking up new Android features and the Platform Guide on the android developer site. I want to become a better developer for the community. Not for myself, but for the community. When you have someone degrading yourself, you feel like ****. And when you don't feel good about your work, you feel like the community is not enjoying your work. At that point it becomes a "why bother even updating this" sort of thing.
So when someone is being an asshat in the forums against you, it hurts. If you think that putting these ROMs out benefits us, the developers in any way besides the infrequent donation, you are sorely mistaken. We put these ROMs out for the community. I enjoy making ROMs for the community because I like to see all of the "Great job!" posts in my thread. It vindicates my work and proves me right that I can indeed make a ROM people like. Sure, the donations are an added plus and they help as well.
And now onto the "selfish" part of that statement. Are. you. effing. kidding. me. Seriously? You call us selfish. After staying up late hours to get a ROM out for YOU, you turn around and call us selfish? I dont even know what to say to that statement. We are not "selfish." You think putting our name onto a ROM is the best prize in the world? Why the flying f*** would we need that? So that people know my name? Are you effing kidding me?
So whomever it was, GTFO. The work that we do as developers benefits nobody but the people of these forums. We, the developers help make XDA how great it is. If you don't want to deal with developers, please, go back to stock. We don't need you to run our ROMs.
And to the rest of you, thank you for showing your support. Its a sad day when someone as nice as Scott is lost due to a few spoilt brats in the forums. And please, if you are using a custom ROM and you are enjoying it, tell your developer that you like it. Tell them that this phone became better because of their work. I promise you that we read the posts when we have time. And whenever we do it makes us feel a bit more warm and fuzzy inside.

So the little whiney, self-entitled b!tches of xda strike again. Seriously, f*ck all of you little twerps that posted anything disrespectful to Scott. He's amazing, and makes an amazing ROM and you should all be ashamed of yourselves for driving him away. I swear to god, I hate what xda has become. there are only a select few that put in any hard work for the rest to reap the benefits of, and there are always a sh!t ton of brats who think that they paid for these ROMs when they paid for their phones. It doesn't work that way, you sniveling little d!ckheads. These devs don't work for the manufacturers, the carriers, or xda- they do it FOR FREE, FOR US, because they kick ass, and they deserve nothing but respect from ALL OF US. Seriously, I am issuing a blanket F*CK YOU to every douche on xda who ever talked sh!t to or about any dev here.
I am going to go through his threads and anyone I see talking any sh!t to or about Scott is from here on out permanently banned from receiving ANY of my case giveaways.
Gunny, kleeman, rohan, or any of the other forum regulars that I interact with on a regular basis, if you would be so kind as to help point out who the offenders are it would be greatly appreciated.

Sad thing is like at least 4 people had the same issue, and it's all from lack of reading.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Scott state a long time ago like cleanrom 2.1 days that CWM caused issues? And Scott also said he loved CWM and hated to switch from it?

Yep, back when the SD card wiping issues first started happening he told everyone not to use CWM and to use TWRP instead. Buuuut people don't want to do any actual reading so it becomes Scott's fault for not showing up at their doorstep and holding their hand for them when they flash his ROMs, cross the street, take a piss, what have you. Bottom line is if you flash, you assume ALL risk. It's your own damn fault for not reading. Even if you're flashing an updated version of the ROM you've been running for months, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS read the entire OP for changelog, flash instructions, etc. The moron in question said that it's because his xda app didn't put the warning in red but bottom line is it was still there. Had he READ THE ENTIRE OP, he would have seen the warning whether it was red, green, blue or purple with pink polka dots. His own damn fault, and at this point I'm glad his phone got eff'd up. Serves him right.

Well, you are in a position to speak for the team. Do you think leaving one's users hanging without any warning or explanation is something a developer should ever do? I know from own experience that ROM development is hard work, and you were doing it for free. However, your ROM had a following, people were mostly very happy, you promised some future. Than out of the blue - boom! No more Axiom S! Gone! No explanation, no warning, no clarification - nothing! Closed the thread, turned off the lights, went home.
I see Mike is already hacking SGIII. That's cool, but you don't just stick a finger at your users, and go find another set of users. At the very least you owe them an explanation where you are going and why.

Not speaking for anyone...but the Axiom team did post on Twitter that they were ceasing development due to hate mail...probably what he meant when he referred to complaining.
"Development of Axiom ROMs has ceased. After much thought, tons of hate mail & other nonsense, we've come to the conclusion it's not worth it"-Axiom website/Twitter
I Am? I didn't know I was hacking the SGS3. Lol
Here's the thing...Axiom ROMs was never.....ever in my plans. Honestly how it started was Zylith and Zydroid. Zylith got busy so I picked up the slack and did more. Keep in mind I was doing this because this is what I wanted in a ROM and just happened to share it with the community, because it was Zylith's to begin with.
Personally, I got tired of the lack of support for HTC phones as of late. I originally was going to get a SGS3 over the One S, but decided not to wait for its release. Now I'm where I wanted to be originally. I'm sorry if you feel like I turned my back....AXSuite was open-sourced.....all that was needed now was a stock 1.84 base and those tweaks to be dropped right in...and BOOM, Axiom ROM again.
Things are rather busy in my life right now.....How? Well....I'm married for one.....got a kid on the way for two, getting into real estate for three, and Apple just did a product release which me, being a Tech Support Advisor for them....have to work much more hours.....which is already cutting away the time i had before.
Don't lash out at the rest of the team because of the unhappiness or disappointment you've experienced with production of a ROM ceased. Everyone has a brain and can learn this stuff people! You depend so much on people like us to do the work, why not learn it instead of getting pissed off because we choose personal lives over Android?
Last I checked....no one pays my bills, no even paid to use Axiom ROMs.....so we're not obligated to discussing anything really.
Don't mean to sound like a asshole, but I'm the only one who gives a damn about my personal life, no one else in here does. I gotta llok out for my best interest....so it is what it is. As for me doing work on the SGS3....not gonna happen. I won't be doing any ROMs for it, I'm much to busy to maintain a public release!
Stop with the PMs, stop with the frustration. AXSuite is open-sourced and for public use. Learn how to make a ROM and get it running. The whole reason we open-sourced it in the first place was to inspire others that want to learn how to do it, to actually do it!
Hate me or love me guys, I had to say what I needed to say. Not trying to be no douche or inconsiderate....I felt you guys deserved at least a reason as to why things happened the way they have....Nothing personal against anyone....but I gotta look out for me and my family and thats time that I can't spend on Android for now....

Thanks for clarifying that....
Some of the team members lost interest because of how things started to turn out... People calling us kangs of Venom tweaks etc etc....you know the ordeal. We decided it's not fun anymore, not worth it either. We did it for free....asked for nothing in return. Seeing you all happy was enough for us. But the hate mail along with what's stated above....just killed the motivation....
Don't hate us for it, look at the users of other One S ROMs....not saying names....they're the ones who discouraged us. Imagine catching BS from people you don't know for you contributing something you expect nothing in return from....we're all human...

By all means man, family comes first. Thank you (and your team) for the hard work that you put into the rom. It is very much appreciated. I myself would love to get to a level where I could develop, rather for myself or public, but between work, kids, and life, it would never happen, thank you for using the little free time you have to help us. The fact that you put as much time and dedication into the work you did is truly a source of charity for everyone who used your roms, or any of the information you provided. I'm sorry that you had to deal with hate mail and complainers. Too many people out there feel they are 'owed' something, and don't get the fact that what you do is out of kindness and hobby, and not something that you are obligated to do.

I've never had a phone with such bad development.

I think we're getting along just fine. We have a working build of 4.2.2 thanks to the devs here. What more could you ask for, 14 roms that are all JB?

I'm sorry we don't have 15 4.2.2 ROM's which are all the same but have different launchers.
Someone else can do those "ROMs". I don't really feel like making a 7zip ROM, I prefer to build from source.
If my work (or the fantastic work of others before me) isn't satisfactory, please feel free to do better. Otherwise, sit down and be quiet.

Truth. This is not a job, all of the devs spend their free time working on this. If it's not moving fast enough for your liking, feel free to contribute. Otherwise, please keep the non-constructive comments to yourself.
I've long since been of the concluded opinion that some people are basically the ROM-flashing equivalent of drug junkies with this stuff. It doesn't matter if what's out there works, or even works for the most part, they suffer withdrawals if they don't have something 'new' to flash and will never be content to finally stick with anything no matter how many different 'flavors' there are to sample from.
OP, instead of saying Thank You to the Development, you ask "What Happened", sounds like you should take up ROM cooking/making and provide to the Community...or just say "Thanks". Either way enjoy your new device...Thread Closed.
I know ETA questions are not allowed, but I'm just curious as to the general development of the phone.
Is anyone still working on this phone (more specifically, ROMs like aosp based hopefully)? I'm not being needy saying people need to do so, but I just want to know so I can decide whether to stay with this phone or not.
It's getting quiet around here...
Edit: I realize it takes a lot of work too. I don't have a good computer at the moment or I'd at least try and contribute. Sorry.
soon......

Ill have a v2 rom from twinflame and me soon just give it time
Here seems like a good place to offer. While I lack the time and complete coding knowledge to build something, I will be more than willing to test anything anyone needs tested (I've the t-mobile version).
