Hi all,
I have a laptop and I want to share my broadband internet to my android devices. I tried using the AP method through cmd where you type the "netsh wlan" commands to create an access point, but my laptop does not support hosted network(see attachment). So i tried to find another way to share my internet and i found a way to do it by reverse tethering...but it is possible for rooted devices only. I have a rooted nexus 7 and i was able to access internet on that successfully by reverse tethering from my laptop, but i wanted internet on my Moto G (2nd Gen). So I tried to tether wirelessly by the creating a hotspot from my nexus 7 and i connected my moto G to the hotsopt, but I am not able to access the internet on my moto G. i dont know what has gone wrong. Basically this is sharing internet through multiple devices. I am trying to reverse tether from laptop to android and then tether from android to more devices. My condition is sort of like this
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Device: | Cable Modem---->Laptop---->rooted nexus 7---->Moto G |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Internet connectivity: | yes | yes | yes | no |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Does somebody know a solution to this. Any answers would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

can we use external internet connection for example in phone, as internet provider via USB caBle???
1st of all, their is no such thing as Android 2.2.5. Please edit your title. I think you mean Android 2.3.5 since CyanogenMod 7 is based on Gingerbread. The answer to your question is yes. Just get PDANet from the market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.pn.helper&feature=search_result and get the pc application to work alongside with it: http://junefabrics.com/android/download.php . It's very easy to use so you should be able to take it from here.
I am new on this, so I need your help on getting root access on my phone so I can use the internet on my mac....
Thanks
You're going to need to give more information. What phone do you have, for starters? Once you give that information, we can probably help you get root to use any of various internet sharing apps and/or flash a ROM with tethering ability enabled.

Hi everybody.
I have a typical but reverse question.
I don't know if this is the best place for make this question, but i want try.
I would know if it's possible to use the wi fi of a PC (on linux or windows) and share this wi fi with another pc linked on USB ( with a male-male USB cable).
Sorry if i have wrong section or forum.
Thanks for responce
You probably already know this but you can tether WiFi from phone to PC via Bluetooth/USB. I tested it yesterday. WiFi hotspot though uses mobile data only

Why not just get a USB wifi adapter for the second PC ?
Hi guys, this is my first post on this forum, so I'm sorry if I'll do something wrong.
I bought a LG GPad V500 (standard version, not google experience edition) and i noticed that tha stock ROM was not so nice... I successfully installed clockworkmod and CyanogenMod 11. The ROM works fine, it's fast and i didn't find any bug. Just i can't understand how to setup USB thethering (aka reverse thethering).
When i start the server on my Windows 8 PC an app is installed on my tab (USB tunneling app). I accepted the super-user request and then I also installed the fake-wifi hack (included in reverse thethering package).
The problem is that, when I press Connect on my PC, the LOG shows no errors but I can't access Internet from the tab. USB Tnneling app shows "UDP connections: 0" and "TCP connections: 0" and the software on my PC says there isn't any download and upload speed. I reinstalled the apps many times and I replaced adb.exe (I founded this solution on Reverse Thethering official post on XDA, but it didn't work for me).
I googled the problem and I read many times that the kernel should be not able to run a USB thethering. I don't know if it could be true, i used the USB Thethering on CM 11 on my old TF300 (died 3 days ago :crying.
Do you know how to fix this problem? It's quite important for me because I can't use any wifi network at home and at work. Sorry for terrible English and thanks
P.S: is it possible, if needed, to change CM11 Kernel (flashing it using CWM)?
I have an old tablet thats running Android ICS. Its rooted and have busybox installed successfully. I want to access my pc internet with my tablet and share it via WiFi hotspot or bluetooth tethering. I successfully accessed my pc internet on my tablet via Android Reverse Tethering Tool. But when I activated WLAN hotspot on my tablet and tried to access it via my Lenovo A6000 plus, something went wrong. Im unable to access the internet. I also tried Bluetooth tethering. But no luck. Any idea?

Hi! My app ReverseTethering NoRoot might work for that. I have successfully used it to share the ReverseTethered connection via Wifi Tethering on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The thread for the app is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-reversetethering-noroot-t3316716
