[Q] Do I upgrade to Lollipop or stay on KitKat? - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm upgrading from Xperia SP to Xperia Z3. When I get it, it will probably still be on KitKat and I've heard about problems with the Lollipop update for this phone.
So do I stay on KitKat or update?
Note: I want to stay on stock - at least for the first few months
Also, is there anything else I should know about the phone?
Thank you

Not any issue with KK. No reason to upgrade

[Completed] [Q] how to roll back to Kitkat 4.4.4 and get rid of Lollipop update.

Ever since the lollipop update, my phone is screwed up, battery is draining a lot faster in Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z1's battery is stuck at 50% and the charge doesn't last for over an hour. I wanna roll back to Android 4.4.4, without doing anything that could damage the device. Any help?
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. It looks like you can flash an earlier firmware. See, how to recover from a brick, and flash the 4.4.4 stock firmware,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2775411. If you have further questions you can ask in that thread.

[Q] Just Bought New Z3. What CAN & CAN'T I Do?

Two days ago I just bought this Z3. Somethings I would ask:
1. If I root my Z3, have dual recovery, can I get & instal lollipop without flashtool? I would like to get lollipop via OTA or Sony Bridge.
2. Will I loose my root if I upgrade from KK (rooted) to lollipop (via OTA or Sony Bridge)?
3. Now I'm still on KK, not rooted, locked bootloader, only update app on playstore, is there a way/tool so I can make my own FTF in this KK version? Since I cant found FTF Indonesia region (there only AU, IN, SG).. So I can help other user in Indonesia..
Sorry for my english & too much asking.. I'm new in xperia things, coming from htc m7..
Thanks in advance.

need rom advice

Just bought a z3 but need some advice.
I bought the phone and it was originally on vodaphone but was unlocked via one of those phone repair shops. (im not on vodaphone)
Now here comes what the issue is. I dont like the stock voda apps and the fact they control upedates its still on 5.0.2 build: 23.1.a.1.28 for reference.
Now what is the generic uk ftf file I need to flash?
Will I lose drm keys if I flash a new ftf?
will the phone return to vodaphone only? (I am sure it Shouldn't but maybe someone knows otherwise?)
Also should i go to 5 than 5.1 or straight to 5.1 ftf?
Thanks for any help been awhile since I have installed any custom roms ir even rooted a phone really. Been running the xperia z stock for 6 months
Dw took the dive and went off what I used to know with some educated guessing and all is good

Please help (Z3v android upgrade)

Hello everyone
I'm now using xperia z3v
My device is now running android 4.4.4
I want to upgrade it to Lolipop 5.0
Can anyone help me to upgrade it ?
Thanks
If you are having good luck with 4.4.4 i would stay with it.
I upgraded to the leaked 5.0 and had a lot of problems with wifi speeds, some random reboots, and some other quirky things. That is just my opinion though.

Now that I am in lollipop I am not having problems, but there were a few steps along the way where I was stuck or thought I bricked my phone. Not worth the drama or hassle for lollipop. And I'm one of the ones who always wants the most up-to-date of anything.

How do i update kitkat phone to lollipop?

I have a android phone currently running kitkat 4.4.2. I want to update it to lollipop. How is it possible?
My phone is called i-mobile i-style 210. I am sure it will be hard because this is a VERY small company only in southeast asia. i really want help because 4.4.2 is really bad and its slow
I am very new to rooting etc. so please be noob friendly.
It is highly unlikely that there would be an upgrade, even a custom one, available for that device. Do use the search function on XDA though, to check if someone with the same model has managed to find something
