I read that on a stock 32 GB S6, there are 23 GB of usable storage. Some if this 9 GB difference is reserved for the system.
Does uninstalling bloatware on a rooted S6 free up some of the 9 GB that is not reserved to the system, or is 23 GB the max we have to use?
Thanks

Removing bloat will clear memory from system partition so if u wanna use that memory you need to mover your apps to system

How much space do you have?
Try moving apps to your SD, edit the options on Cyanogenmod settings to save applications straight to your SD (I have a **** load of apps on my I5500, nearly all of them are on my SD card).
hi guys. I have Desire Z, rooted with Your fantastic guide in its section. Ive tried many roms and I reall like those with 3,5 like recent virtuous 2.0.5.0
But I have like 60mb of free memory with it.
Desire Z have 512 memory
1gb internal storage
and 8gb sd card
Everyone on Desire Z section is saying. "yep, did the swap and supercharger and it rocks now" but nobody explains what and how
Ive also found that swap market app suck and blocks sd card.
My guess is that the swap they are talking about is using internal storage to create 256mb file there for constant? any tutorial and explanation?
Thanks!
I have the same question. I have installed Virtuous Affinity 2.05.0 based on Runnymede (hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346500).
its really nice everything but it lags a lot on my t-mobile g2 (with dz hboot)
I think you need to have Ice Cream Sandwich
what kind of anserw is that? Do You even know what are You talking about?
The term swap usually comes from the linux "swap partition" which is an extra partition that is used to enhance the phones RAM, i.e. if RAM is full, move lesser used item from RAM to swap partition.
Similar to the windows pagefile.

I just started looking into the Supercharger script myself, for my Nexus S. I THINK what you want to look at is the V6 Supercharger script by Zeppelinrox!
Here's a link! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
All the information you would ever need on the script is in that post, remember to hit the thanks button for his contribution
Oh as for the swap function, you might look into partitioning SD card here http://lmgtfy.com/?q=swap+partition
I have the original T-Mobile ROM and am running out of room for apps. Will a custom ROM without the T-Mobile bloatware give me more room? I have figured how much space the apps that aren't on my SD card take up and it isn't that much.
Considering that most bloat can not be moved to sd, I'd say yes you would gain space... Not to mention the performance tweaks integrated into the custom roms

Yes you will get more space. Valhalla Black Final is only 124mb compared to 187 for stock GB. So if you want more space VB is probably the way to go. There's also a fota fix that will give you some more space on stock but I haven't used it since froyo. So I don't know whether it will have the same results on GB.
You can use valhalla black which is heavily debloated, icbinb 2.3.7 which is only usimg 41 megs of app space upon install or you can try using my debloater (there is a link in my forum sig) if you want to stick to your stock rom, though you'll need to have cwm installed
Hi all
I've got a Sony Xperia x10i and a Galaxy Apollo (GT-5800)
I want to turn the Apollo into a low power web development server. which would be the best ROM to use for this? Ideally i want lowest RAM usage with an overclock if possible to 800mhz.
I'm currently using the Kyrillos ROM v9.7 OC Edition which i must say is an AMAZING ROM!!! I'm also using Titanium Backup Pro to remove all the phone bits and pieces and keep it's rather limited 256mb RAM as free as possible. I'm sure this might well be the best i can do but i thought i would ask anyway.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
we have 256m space for system, and 256m space for data and app. the stock apps are in our rom, removing then gives you more space in /system. if you want more internal space for new apps( /data ),
try app2sd or data2sd,but it might not as stable.

after i rooted my htc desire and installed many roms ... i am now on cron.mod rom bravo v.2.3.7 with int2ext and swap i swapped about 1 GB to by virtual rams and speed up my phone as the int2ext make my htc slower than before ....... my int2sd in 1 GB olso ..... but the speed up of swap isnt noticable for me ..is that a proplem in my phone or the swap is really useless
I am facing the same problem.
I think we should use a class 4 or higher sd card for swapping more than 512 mb.
But there should be at least some minimum value which our slow card and phone can support without lag or crashes.
Looking for some relavent answer..!
