Every time I switch on Screen Rotation (Auto rotate on most Android phones) in order to watch Youtube or view pictures, it turns it's self off after a minute or two and goes back to portrait. Is this normal? Anyway to fix?

Dear Buzz,Rudegear other experst and members,

Do I need to assign a button for rotating the screen?
Pls reply
It sounds like a problem I occasionally have with 1.60b. It usually happens after PIE has crashed. The screen looks right but it misinterprets touches: usually it acts like it's rotated through 90 or 180 degrees. Touch one corner and another reacts!
I take regular backups to a storage card, so a quick restore puts it right.
Hi, I have problems with my screen. I dropped my Touch Pro in the ground and after that my screen rotates when I touch it. Switches from landscape to portrait every time I press the screen and if I do it again it switches again from portrait to landscape hope you get me.... Another problem after that is when I press the turn off button to turn the screen off it turns immidiately back on, so the screen is always on and my battery doesnt run long because of that. I'm wondering if the screen is broken or can some other sensor in the phone be broken? Have some of you heard of this happened before?
Sorry about my bad english I hope you get what I'm trying to say

Hi!
Did anyone here notice that the screen rotates from landscape to portrait mode every time the Phone Dialer appears? Like for instance, when you short press Send (Dial) Key or when you get an incoming call?
I have tried so many differend ROMs I don't even know which one I have installed now. The described behaviour was the same on all of them.
Is there any way to fix this? I have tried 'auto rotate' but it just looks silly: when i get incoming call, the screen first rotates to portrait, then 'auto rotate' rotates it back to landscape and I can't answer the call during all this rotating going on
You probably need to flash back to stock or do a MTTY Task 29 then flash a custom ROM, sounds like you have some residual affects from previous flashes.
Thanks, I guess this is the only thing left to do. I assume you didn't notice this behaviour with your Topaz? The phone app also has other bugs, like the button "Save to contacts" does nothing...
Does it stay in landscape mode? or does it only do if for a second or less and then switch back to portrait? I recall having a similar problem on one of mine... I just did a hard reset tho and that fixed it for me.
If auto rotate is turned on it rotates back to landscape (but ti takes more than a second), else it stays in portrait mode. It's good to know hard reset (better with format) really is the solution. I will try it when I find some time.
Hi, I am trying to figure out how to change the movement that turn screen on...
Without movement that turn screen on I usually get 5 days of use (light use). With wrist movement that turns screen on I just get 2 days of Use.
The problem is that many times the display turns on with random movements that was not me trying to see the time... And even sometimes the display doesn't turn on with me trying to see the time.
I am guessing this mechanism is wrong by default. Instead to turn on with movement I believe it would be way better if the display turns on with the position.
The only time you get the display on stand position (home button to bottom and camera to top) is when you really turn your wrist to see the hour. This position of display stand (home button to bottom and camera to top) should be the trigger to turn on the screen and not the movement of the arm.
Does anyone have a clue of how to change this?
Tnx a lot any help.

Facing the same problem. There must be someone with an good idea..
Question: Do you wear your Gear on top of your wrist or on bottom? I've never had problems with wake-up gestures when I wore my watch on top of my wrist, but if I wear it underneath the screen comes on all the time and drains the battery in a few hours. I think it confuses the motion sensor.
Remember, when wake-up gestures are turned on the motion sensor is always on, which drains the battery much faster whether the screen is on or not (That's in the user manual).
yup. infact when i am using my PC my left hand is always from the keyboard to any other place the watch will keep going on and off (screen). this is frustrating and consumes battery. is there a solution?
I've had my Note 5 for two weeks and on two occasions, it was stuck on portrait mode even though it is set on auto rotate, it would not go into landscape mode. I had to turn off the phone in order to get it to auto rotate again. Has anyone had this problem and if so, how did you fix it?
so you mean, with the button greyed out, something like a browser window will still stay in portrait mode while the handset is in the horizontal position?
I haven't had any issues that i've noticed.
does some light tapping do anything? maybe even try a factory reset (I cringe, too).

the button is not greyed out....I"m still able to toggle from portrait mode and auto rotate mode but the screen won't toggle and will only stay on portrait mode......
Had this problem once but it was stuck in landscape mode while I was using the Chrome Browser. All I did was press the home button and it went back to portrait and closed out Chrome. then relaunched and it was all good. I know that probably wont work for you since yours is stuck in portrait mode, everything works in portrait except some games. Try launching a game that runs in portrait mode.
I have this exact problem!!!
I have had the same thing happen to me about once a week. I end up having to reboot the phone to get it to rotate again. Once it happens it occurs in every app capable of rotating. Anyone found a solution?
