[Completed] [Q] Connect device to ADB via wireless with no need for USB cable? - XDA Assist

Hi everyone. I'm actually working on a Hackintosh, and I need to connect my Android device with adb. The problem is that I have some driver-related problem on this Hackintosh that won't allow me to use my device via USB, it is recognized only if I use its software for Mac (Sony Bridge in my case). So I searched for a way to connect it via wireless, but it requires an USB connection the first time :/
Is there an other way to connect my device via adb wireless without the need for an USB cable the first time?
Thank you for the help!

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I've never used this but maybe this will help, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48675168#post48675168

Hi, thanks for answering me
I tried your suggestion and this is what happens:
On the device:
On the PC:
My device is rooted but it doesn't even ask for root permissions. It is connected to the same network as the PC. The PC is connected via cable to the modem, but I don't think this makes any difference. The program on the PC starts trying to connect as I open the app on the device, this means that it is being found but something else is going on.
What do you think the problem could be? Thanks again!
Edit: the same happens with his new program :/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2707556
Edit2: I tried with another rooted device, but the same exact thing happens. So the problem is not related to that device...

Ask for help in the thread I linked you to.

[Q] ADB from Transformer to Android Phone

Is it possible to connect an Android phone via USB Debugging to the Transformer's USB port to be able to send ADB commands to the phone?
I don't have the TF yet, so haven't tried, but thought I'd get some insight from others if anyone has had success.
Thanks in advance!

Well, it used to be working before the latest firmware upgrade. Maybe I lost it because my device is unrooted now.
Anyways, adb binary is installed by default, but it fails to detect my phone.
Will keep you posted.
Just to confirm, it's working after rooting my device (using the latest firmware 8.4.4.11). ADB to Samsung Galaxy ACE.

My pc itself isn't showing the phone in the device manager nor is my phone recognizing that it is plugged into the pc except for showing a charge. Idk what else to try...any help is appreciated. Are you referring on how to connect S3 to a PC so that you can Odin the phone?
If so, you have to install Android SDK on your PC first. Here's a link. Do a YouTube search as well....there are how-to videos that will walk you thru it.

I did not have to install the android sdk to use Odin.

What operating system are you using? Have you tried disabling any internet/virus/malware protection software temporarily? This may help alleviate your issue. If on Windows, do you hear an audible sound when you connect/disconnect your phone to the PC? Also, try different USB ports if you haven't already. Windows is a fickle beast sometimes

[Q] My PC can't see my TF300T....any ideas?

Hello
I am slowly trying to learn how to root my TF300T in preparation for installing my first mod but I have a problem. I am using Android 4.2.1 and as far as I can tell I have USB debugging ticked on my settings.
I am following the Cyanogen tutorial and I have installed Android SDK to my PC and put it into the root of the C\ folder. It is revision 22.3, if that helps anybody.
I do not know if I have the correct settings within the Android SDK Manager, however the Google USB Driver says that it is installed.
However when I connect my TF300T to my PC, with a 'male to male' USB cable nothing happens.
If I connect any USB device to the TF300T, then it is recognise and I can use it.
If I connect my Nexus 4 phone to my PC then the PC recognises the device in both the Device Manager and a Auto-Play pop-up menu comes on the screen. I can then freely move files to and feom the phone to my PC with no issues.
Does anybody know where I am going wrong with either my Tablet or PC which is stopping them communicating with each other?
bump
Anybody able to help me?
please.

Not sure, where you are connecting that cable.
You need to use the USB/charger cable that came with your device and connect that to your PC.

Fantastic
Thank you so much for helping me with which cable I should use. I thought I was going mad.
Using the USB/Charger cable worked.
When I connected my Tablet to the computer, my PC went looking for the drivers. The PC found most of them however I got the following error message
ASUS Android composite ADB Interface No Driver found.
Any ideas how I find and install this ADB Interface?

Sorry, I am a Linux user, never had any USB driver issues myself. If you search the forums for "USB naked drivers", you should find some help and instructions.

But I do not have a clue what to do from there.

[Completed] [Q] (Q) Bricked Z3 but still connects via USB, unknown device.

Hey Guys, unfortunately I'm not a tech savy, I successfully rooted my Xperia Z3, all went well until I tried flashing one of Cyanogenmod CM11 Roms. Now it does'nt respond to anything at all. Volume keys/ power buttons are useless. However when its connected via usb to my laptop, It connects after 10secs though it only says "unknown device" (The USB device connected has malfunctioned yadda yadda yadd). If anyone knows anything on what I can do, please help. Thank you in advance.

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The best place to get help is in your device's specific forum here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3 They are the experts on your device. I would also try going to device manager on your pc with your device connected to it. Do you see an icon with a yellow exclamation mark on it. If so right click it and go to where it lets you choose from a list on your computer. Choose android adb composite interface.

[Completed] Pc unable to detect smart phone

I am having problem to use my smart phone as a USB drive on my PC. :crying: Earlier it used to. But I even came across that sometimes my PC used to recognize my Homtom HT3 smart phone as M380 (Micromax canvas spark 2) which belongs to my sibling.
The same problem occurred while connecting that phone. But now the PC has stopped detecting both of them. I gotta flash my phone with new ROM but this problem hinders me. Hereby I request any genius who can come up with a solution.
I can provide more info as per needed.

I have already got drivers installed in my laptop and moreover I downloaded them from internet and while installing came to know that they are already installed.
I am connecting phone in normal MTP mode.
I believe that the problem's with my laptop.
If you can provide any solution, I'll be very grateful!

Hello,
I am not sure what solution you are looking for.
But just installing the correct drivers should fix the issue.
