Hello
I am slowly trying to learn how to root my TF300T in preparation for installing my first mod but I have a problem. I am using Android 4.2.1 and as far as I can tell I have USB debugging ticked on my settings.
I am following the Cyanogen tutorial and I have installed Android SDK to my PC and put it into the root of the C\ folder. It is revision 22.3, if that helps anybody.
I do not know if I have the correct settings within the Android SDK Manager, however the Google USB Driver says that it is installed.
However when I connect my TF300T to my PC, with a 'male to male' USB cable nothing happens.
If I connect any USB device to the TF300T, then it is recognise and I can use it.
If I connect my Nexus 4 phone to my PC then the PC recognises the device in both the Device Manager and a Auto-Play pop-up menu comes on the screen. I can then freely move files to and feom the phone to my PC with no issues.
Does anybody know where I am going wrong with either my Tablet or PC which is stopping them communicating with each other?
bump
Anybody able to help me?
please.

Not sure, where you are connecting that cable.
You need to use the USB/charger cable that came with your device and connect that to your PC.

Fantastic
Thank you so much for helping me with which cable I should use. I thought I was going mad.
Using the USB/Charger cable worked.
When I connected my Tablet to the computer, my PC went looking for the drivers. The PC found most of them however I got the following error message
ASUS Android composite ADB Interface No Driver found.
Any ideas how I find and install this ADB Interface?

Sorry, I am a Linux user, never had any USB driver issues myself. If you search the forums for "USB naked drivers", you should find some help and instructions.

But I do not have a clue what to do from there.
Thanks for trying to help me.

I can never have my tf detect by win7 x64 even on a newly formatted drive even with the necessary drivers installed. Going into APX mode also not working. I'm suspecting that my data/power cable is faulty.
It detected mine without any drivers.
For the APX mode I had to install the drivers of course.

are you sure you have the right drivers? use the ones found in the nvflsh folder. also, you do know there is now real way to tell if your tab is even in APX mode right?

Did you try to connect to other USB port? Don't use external USB hubs to connect transformer.
Can you use asus sync software? Can you sync android to windows with this software?

Other usb ports also give me the same problem. The asus sync software reports no device found. Funny thing is that I can have my pc detect the tf occasionally. Could my data cable go bonker?

I'm using the one in the 7.1 rootkit package. Yes, I know how to detect if the apx is in operation.

Maybe try the ones in the nvflash file
Get the android SDK and install that on W7. That was the only way I could make it work for me.

If I remember correctly when I connected my GNote10 to my laptop all I could see was the sdcard not the external card. Well it could seevthe external sdcard but not what was on it. I put it down to the fact I run Linux and the drivers for the GNote10 may be different. However now I use WiFi File Explorer Pro and Bluetooth for transfering files as it seems easier for me.
There is a app to fix this on SSamsung apps store search for kies it will be there

Erica, unfortunately, this app does not install. If you're talking about Kies Saver WiFi.
Try connecting it to another Windows computer to see if it is detected to rule out whether or not it is a specific computer's issue or your tablet.
If it's just that computer then only thing I can think of is if you go to the Device Manager in windows and look under the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" Host controllers and see if any have an exclamation mark.
From there you can try uninstalling that device and then either reconnect or reboot your computer and reconnect and see if it now detects it.
Could try this program on your computer to remove usb entries.search google for usbdview program for your pc.it will show all conmected usb devices remove old android conmections

I solved the issue like THIS:
Downloaded KIES
ran " connectionproblems" function of KIES (drivers will be newly installed)
Restart PC
Connect
And , voila, MTP works flawless ...........
FIXED
I pluged it in like you had and just got the un-ending "Connecting" in Kies. It showed the device ID (GT-N8013) in the connected device tab however it would never fully connect.
So what I did was while it was trying to connect in Kies I changed the connection type in the Note from MTP (Media device) to PTP (Camera). I got a few error messages in Kies saying that it can't connect to the device because the device was in the wrong mode. After I cleared those error messages and Kies stopped trying to connect. I than set the USB PC connection back to MTP and let Kies do its thing and no problemo there it was.
Hope this helps some of you! Have fun! Also the kick in the pants is that there is no firmware update available still stuck at 4.1.2. I was hoping 4.2 would be available.
same problem as OP
I have the same problem as OP, my PC just doesn't recognize that a device is plugged in. The Samsung note 10.1 beeps and charges but that's it, my PC is non the wiser to anything changing at all.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit and I've tried it on my brothers PC, same OS, and my dads which is 32bit. re-installed windows, fully updated Samsung and windows, Kies just says "plug in a device"
USBDeview doesn't recognize anything.
Nothing in device manager.
I've contacted Samsung after searching high and low on Google for an answer and they diagnosed it as faulty.
Repair center says it's working fine and sent it me back.
There must be something I'm missing on the tablet, could it be a faulty USB cable? I have really run out of options.
because its rooted
wont work because its rooted i even tryed voodoo root keeper and samsung wont let me update becasue its rooted .. kinda stuck. cant even connect computer to install custom rom

I don't know if this is the case with you, but I experience connection problems very often, in particular with OTG. Connection seems to be reliable immediately after reboot but after a (short? longer?) while it stops and won't work anymore.
My guess is that a driver is not correctly reset when the tablet resumes from sleep.
It might be a problem introduced with the latest OTA.
Same here bro.. I tested to another PC but still not recognize.. maybe from the note?

Fixed it with a £2 USB cable off eBay. If you have nothing but the tablet charging try a new cable. Worked for me after sending it to Samsung for repairs twice.

My Note 10.1 (2014) wasn't being recognized in My Computer by the laptop running Win7, so I found the tablet in the Device Manager, double-clicked on it there, and downloaded the drivers. Loaded up flawlessly after that.

Thanks for your reply but the problem with that solution is that my tf300t won't show up in device manager.. I'm starting to think I have a faulty charger port. Or faulty USB cable.
Try to see if you can connect it to a different computer, If you can, you can eliminate the bad port or cable as possibilities.

Hi, i've got the exact same problem.
My computer won't recognize the TF300T. If i plug it with the dock (usb or charger to usb) = nothing. Just the tablet = nothing. I've installed Asus PC Sync but yeah, doesn't work. Nothing show up in the windows device manager. Any clues ?

same here - nothing happens when plugging tablet into pc. tried 4 different laptops - nothing
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a used Samsung tab 2 7.0 p3113, consequently it appears it is stuck in boot loop. However, I can go into the download and recovery mode, but Odin will not recognize my device. It doesn't show up in any way or form on my laptop. Tried all usb ports, uninstalled and reinstalled kies. Does not show in device manager. I'm confident that if I can get the computer to recognize the device it is fixable. I also tried it on a win7 machine as I am running 8.1
Any help is appreciated.
I've only ever had luck on windows xp. But to me it seems like someone used Odin and may have permabricked it by repartitioning

the computer doesn't show any sign of recognizing the device. I have checked background processes for kies running. Simply cannot figure it out.

Hi everyone. I'm actually working on a Hackintosh, and I need to connect my Android device with adb. The problem is that I have some driver-related problem on this Hackintosh that won't allow me to use my device via USB, it is recognized only if I use its software for Mac (Sony Bridge in my case). So I searched for a way to connect it via wireless, but it requires an USB connection the first time :/
Is there an other way to connect my device via adb wireless without the need for an USB cable the first time?
Thank you for the help!

Hi, thanks for answering me
I tried your suggestion and this is what happens:
On the device:
On the PC:
My device is rooted but it doesn't even ask for root permissions. It is connected to the same network as the PC. The PC is connected via cable to the modem, but I don't think this makes any difference. The program on the PC starts trying to connect as I open the app on the device, this means that it is being found but something else is going on.
What do you think the problem could be? Thanks again!
Edit: the same happens with his new program :/

Edit2: I tried with another rooted device, but the same exact thing happens. So the problem is not related to that device...
