Try below step's,
1. Turn off your Xperia Z3 and wait 5-7 seconds after screen turns off.
2. Power on your device and when the LED notification lights turn on press several times Volume Up or Volume down buttons.
3. At the end, your Xperia Z3 will be rebooted into recovery mode.
If you found this helpful, there's a thanks button, just press it

I don't think there's any stock recovery on Z3, what are you trying to do?

There is no stock recovery on xperia devices. (The Z3v has a very basic one but only wipes cache's)
You need to root and install a custom one.

Probably bad kernel. You should be able to bring it back by flashing the kernel from stock 4.4.4 FTF only
How shall I flash it?
Tried to unbrick with holding power + volume up for 10 secs (3 beeps) but still nothing.
There is OFF hole by the sim card, press with something sharp will power off the device. Flash proper kernel and you should be good.
Good Luck.

Well, well, well
Previously, you should put FXP cm12 rom zip file in your external sdcard
1. You should first load your boot.img file via Flashtool in fastboot mode (blue led, to get it, turn off phone, connect it to pc while you are pressing simultaneously vol + slowly) before start flashing a FXP CM rom (you can extract it from the fxp cm12 zip file)
2. After you inject the boot.img file, wait for an ok message in flashtool, disconnect the phone, close flashtool, turn on phone and press vol + or - repeteadly, the purple led will turn, the telephone should vibrate and you will enter into cwm recovery, after that, do the reglamentary wipes (data/factory reset, cache partition, dalvik cache) before flash the new rom, now, choose the zip file from the external card, install it, wait until if finishes, do the three wipes again, and finish up exiting of cwm recovery
3. The telephone should start the installation of the cm12 rom and around after 3-5 minutes, your lollipop will be done!
4. If none of the above works, please download and install XperiFim, download the stock rom according to your E3 model (D2202/12/03/06/43) and flash it via flashtool using flash mode (mode when green led on, to get it, turn off phone and connect it to the pc pressing simultaneosly vol - slowly (keep in mind this because it may enter in cwm mode) and after get again the stock rom, repeat steps 1-3 doing it well this time.
I hope that my instructions help you a lot!!
If you are not so desperated, wait until 2nd half of the year or 2016, because Lollipop will not ship it soon for medium and low-end 2014 xperia devices. We have the choice of AOSPing and use CM12, but not nothing official at this moment (20-02-2015)

Do you even tried your fabulous method?
Do you even know that CM12 for E3 is corrupted, any variant of E3 are working with this rom (D2202, D2203....)
And No nothing will be done for Xperia E3 this device is came out in September 2014, there almost 7months and atm there is nothing working/relevant (You will say AOSP to me but... AOSP don't have camera and there are a lot of bugs on it, so its not relevant)
About CM 12 I forgot this idea since a while, why? because there are no developpers interrested on this device.
If you want a nice custom ROM, put your E3 to trash and buy Xperia M2 or Z3, this forum for E3 is dead, that's all !
Hi @Exerath
I suggested that method because it worked on my other xperia device when installed CM, so i thought that installing CM in every xperia device will be the same thing (obviously keeping in mind device, kernel and CM version). I didn't know about bootloop in E3 running a broken CM12 rom.
Also i wasnt aware about cm12 being unstable for any E3 variant (D22XX) and nothing about failing camera in AOSP.
And please forget that idea, my device is not for the trash. I don´t care if there´s no official or unofficial lollipop version . Early or soon, somebody will take care of our devices
I´m so happy with my E3 and i wanna try to help :'( :"-(

can't enter fastboot mode, can't unlock bootloader

Hi guys,
I got this phone last night, brand new and have been trying all my waking hours to get it rooted but I can't even get to fastboot mode to unlock the bootloader. I'm trying the procedure on Song's website, but when I try to get to fast boot (Turn off phone, hold volume up while inserting The usb cable) but it doesn't work. I have googled getting to fastboot mode. I've tried tapping volume up, as well tapping volume down, while starting up. Nothing works.
It has never taken me this long to root a phone and I could really use some help!
Some additional info if you need it. I'm running windows 7 64 bit and have build 18.3.1.c.1.13 on my phone
First check if you can unlock your bootloader (*#*#7378423# *#*) it's typing "service ", go in service info - > configuration, if "Rooting Status says: Yes" you can unlock it.
Good Luck.
Xperia M2 D2303 on K.K. 4.4.4
Next to boot loader unlocked it says yes. But I still can't get to fastboot!
If you only want root access, why unlock the bootloader. Have you powered off the phone then hold vol up and connect the USB cable then same again with vol down
D2303 18.3.1.C.1.15 kk deodexed, rooted, philz touch recovery, xposed, z1 bravia engine 2 + x-reality+ z3 super vivid, viper audio
Well first things first I do eventually want to put a custom rom on it, but for now just want to unlock and root it.
So are you saying I should power of the m2, then hold volume up while plugging in the usb, and as soon as I plug in the cable, hold volume down?

No.
He is saying connect your phone with volume up, wait until the drivers are instaled, then repeat with volume down.
Good Luck.

The problem is, that the drivers don't install. All I get when I turn off, press and hold volume up, then plug in the usb is that the Sony logo displays for a few second, then a battery is displayed, and finally the screen goes dark
Ok, so good news and bad news. Good news is I finally got the bootloader unlocked (it worked with my OPO cable, but not the sony one that came with the phone) and through fastboot installed this kernel and cwm: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...2303-cwm-based-recovery-6-0-4-6-root-t2884503.
I'm trying to get into CWM so I can flash superuser by tapping volume down with the sony logo comes up and the phone vibrates, but all it does it boot as normal. Does anyone have any suggestions?
so I tried to follow this http://www.droidviews.com/install-cwm-root-xperia-m2/ in order to finally get to recovery. now my the screen is flashing on and off. I really am not liking this phone so far.
Does any one have any suggestions. I just wanna get this rooted so I can install my backed up apps with ROM Toolkit.
The easiest way to root the m2 if you aren't a expert and know how to flash a ftf via flashtool is flash jb root with towelroot then update over the air to 4.4.2 then 4.4.4 then install supersu n update binaries or just flash the jb kernel root with Xperia rootkit then flush back kk kernel

hey, I finally got it after almost 48 hours. I've never had to put so much time or effort into rooting an android device again, and, as a result, will definitely think twice before purchasing another Sony android device. I eventually got it rooted and everything using a tool called emma and some help from people in another thread.
Aidy: where did you find 18.3.1.c.1.15? I'd like to install it so my phone stops telling me there is an update, which I can't install vai emma.
Flashtool, I got to 18.3.1.C.1.13 updating ota then flashed 18.3.1.C.1.15 as a pre-rooted zip as I could only use a computer to do the update but if you have a recovery spcc doesn't work. Well on my phone anyways

My Xperia M2 doesn't boot to recovery mode

I unlocked the bootloader using the instructions from the Sony developer site. It worked, and then I flashed the recovery software using the flash tool, Emma, but when I press the buttons to boot in recovery mode, instead of this, my OS resets, like factory reset, or it doesn't boot, just vibrates. I don't know what to do. I want to try cyanogenmod and I want to flash it, but without recovery I can't, and it's possible to find on the Sony site the stock rom in case I want to come back to the stock OS? And something else. After the reset, the OS looks different. I have features that I didn't have before

You have to upgrade your bootloader via Emma and flash the recovery.img via fastboot.
Thank you. I flashed a TWRP recovery and it worked.

No notification led and illumination bar blinking after rebooting device. I tried combination of power button + volume up or power button + volume down. Used Titanium backup to reboot into recovery. Ran adb command to reboot into recovery all failed.

[Q] Xperia Z3 UB recovery, how to access?

Hi,
I succesfully unlocked the bootloader of my xperia z3 (D6603) by following the "Sony Developer's Website" instructions and by previously making the TA partition BackUp.
Once done I was stucked into bootloop, with sony logo and no led at power up, or any way to access recovery or system. Luckily I managed to enter flashmode and flashed stock android 4.4 via flashtool.
I know that I can use the Giefroot exploit, but as i gain root and recovery, this last one either magically disappear (launching only the first time) or I'm no longer able to access it. Neither via fastboot, system or by physical keys.
I tried everything more or less (FOTAKernel, RecRoot and a Z2 recovery for hardware similarities).
What I have to do? I'm not able to find a solution, or probably, I'm too dumb to find it.
Sorry for this mix of ignorance and bad english.

Ok, the answer was "hold power botton press volume down key".
I didn't tought about the simplest key combination, the funny tring is that I use that key combination on my nexus. This thing of LB and UB and the lack of a proper recovery partition is a little tricky to me.
Sorry for the time waste
