Shaky charging port, Unroot - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys please advise.
My magnetic port is coming loose and harder to charge now. Planning to send to warranty claim.
Thing is its rooted. And I hardly use my old pc now. So checking is there any easier way to remove root other than reflash the stock rom?
Super thanks to everyone!!

The easiest way is to use PC and flash stock ROM, otherwise if you just unroot manually you could leave some files on the system that could only be there from root.
Even easier than using flashtool would be to force a software repair from PCComapnion, but be aware this wipes all user data, but will leave your phone in the exact same state as when you unboxed it.
However, if you rooted via unlocking the bootloader, then the only way to restore it to factory state is to restore the TA partition backup you should have made prior to unlocking and then flashing a stock ROM before rebooting if you are on a non stock kernel/ROM (To avoid bootloops)

how could i possibly unroot through pc companion it says that software is modified and cannot be updated.

You do not mean root then, you mean unlocked bootloader. To relock the bootloader just restore your TA patition backup

[Q] Back up the stock rom without wipeing it from the root process?

I just got my Nexus S. Before rooting it I wanted to take a back up of the stock rom. All the tutorials I have read for rooting use fastboot oem unlock which wipes it clean.
I did find another tutorial that roots the phone without wiping it, but in reality it still wipes the phone and just leaves the bootloader locked. Totally not what I want.
How do I back up the rom without rooting it...or how do I root the phone without wiping it so I can do a rom backup?
Distortedloops guide does not wipe anything.

[Q] How to make a full system backup for Galaxy S plus ?

I just bought and Samsung Galaxy S plus , I upgraded it and Updated it to the latest version .
I'm new to this android kind of stuff, and wanted to root it to get the SuperUser / BlackMarket App, but before that to avoid my phone getting brick I was told to do a system backup for my phone but I dont have a clue how to do a system backup.
Can anyone here kindly assist me ?
Thanks.
solution
You can go into settings and back up thru ur device but if you do the steps right you can back up everything thru clockwork mod when u root you don't lose anything when you unroot you dooo but once you rooted download titanium backup and you'll be good
Hi new member...we have SGS+ subforum where you can find more info, roms, whatever about our phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1270
I have made backup w/ Titanium backup. Find it from market.
titanium backup without root?
That's what I'm wondering since the requirements is phone need to be rooted first.
What should I do to do a full system backup ( not apps ) Just the system to avoid bricked phones.
I think he's asking for an actual backup of the whole stock rom with everything on it. I wouldn't deal with Titanium Backup for that since it'll only copy changes you have like your own apps and settings when you've used the phone for a while. I would use Clockworkmod Recovery to make a nandroid backup of your rom so you may return to it when a problem with a rom arises.
EDIT

Yeah just root and install ROM manager, and from there install ClockWorkMod Recovery, and then say "Backup Current ROM" or something like that and it should do a full system backup

indeed.... a nandroid backup via CW Recovery is the best thing you can do
just make sure the backup is verified and not corrupted, after the backup has completed
But I'm wondering how if when I'm rooting that time something screwed up my phone is bricked without any backup?
Is there anyway to backup the system before rooting?
Thanks you guys for replying
U can't mate. But I don't think u can brick a phone while rooting it
Hit THANKS if I helped you
Meaning I root my phone then I do a system backup with those they mention on top, if there's any problem I do a System Restore then use the Unroot method? To claim and warranty back from Samsung or even Unroot my warranty will be gone?
recovery
if you have recovery in the cell is easy to just start looking at recovery and backup and restore

Well in all honesty, when rooting your phone you're just adding stuff into the stock ROM to allow more freedom. But this depends on your root method. Just like with my G2, you install Visionary and run the temp root (no harm there) and then on to the permanent root (there's the harm) but it's fairly safe. Just follow your instructions and you shouldn't have any problems. In the case that you do mess up your stock ROM through rooting, the manufacturer includes a built in recovery (which you'll replace with CWM later on), the manufacturer's recovery menu is able to flash SIGNED roms which you may be able to acquire from somewhere here or the manufacturer's website
Ur system can be backed up via cwm. And yes u can unroot after flashing a stock rom to regain warranty
Hit THANKS if I helped

[Q] Bootloader unlock WITHOUT Factory reset?

Is there any method to unlock my bootloader WITHOUT doing a factory reset?
I like my phone how it is but am itching to try some other roms and see what else is out there - would be perfect if i could unlock BL, Install boot.img with CWM, then do a full rom dump so as I can just restore to EXACTLY how i like it should i feel the need to do so.
If no option to unlock without factory reset then is there another way to backup my phone in is current state and re-install when i want to?

[Q] Two questions relating to fresh odin original FW flash, TWRP & encryption

I have been having a persistent issue trying to encrypt my phone's internal storage. (Samsung Galaxy S4 mini LTE (GT-I9195). I thought it might be related to me rooting the device, since I read that you can't encrypt a rooted phone.
So a few minutes ago I plucked up the courage to follow the tutorial to flash my original downloaded firmware to the phone, in an attempt to erase all trace of root. Well the phone came up and wanted my password, so I rebooted and installed TWRP via odin again, then did a factory reset and then used the wipe data option and proceeded to make a backup, assuming this would be as useful and as good as odin-flashing my original firmware back for future use and more convenient and less dangerous than using odin.
Well, after booting it up, going through the setup wizard and then adding a lockscreen password, I am still unable to encrypt the phone. It shows the green android robot, screen fades out, then very soon after that the phone reboots and it all comes back up as normal unencrypted. Bare in mind that this is still the stock firmware that was odin-flashed and then a factory reset.
After all this, what would I need to do to get the phone encryption working?
Also, is my assumption correct, that the new TWRP backup I made, after flashing the original firmware via odin, is that new fresh backup as good as flashing the original again via odin? At least in terms of the OS status? I know the recovery isn't changed by such a backup and odin wipes absolutely everything, but I think you know what I am asking.

ODIN doesn't wipe everything. Perform a factory reset via stock recovery immediately after flashing the firmware via ODIN to set your phone back to stock. And who told you that enryption doesn't work with rooted phones?!

I did a factory reset and deleted data and performed a new backup that I have saved to the computer.
But when I started to realise I could not encrypt I went googling and found a blog post by someone who claimed that he had to jump through all kinds of hoops to get it to encrypt after he rooted his S4 mini. But my problem is even non-rooted on default firmware with TWRP recovery installed I cannot encrypt So I am hoping someone here will have the answer.

The point is that that KNOX detects the TWRP recovery. Enryption is possible with any rooted custom rom and probably with any roms but Samsung's S4 generation and newer due to the stupid KNOX security.

Well I did get encryption working one time on a custom rom but I have no idea how I did it. What should I do to improve my chances of getting encryption working? I thought when I rooted the original rom it removed knoxx?

Trying out Cyanogenmod

I've decided to give Cyanogenmod and therefore will need to unlocl BL.
If i backup via TWRP on stock, can i restore this when on Cyanogenmod if i decide to come back to stock?
Or would i need to relock bootloader etc?

You can run stock on an unlocked bootloader. Just ensure you backup the boot. Img a week and restore it if you want to go back
And be careful with CM, it has some problems with the sound.
Don't use a maximum volume, it might blow your speakers, and this is not a joke.
Otherwise, CM is a good ROM.

No i mean PROPERLY go back lol
Like Locked Bootloader, DRM keys restored etc.
Is this possible from a stock TWRP backup, or would i manually need to relock, restore TWRP, then restore TA partition?

no the twrp backup only does the rom it doesn't do any TA partition or anything like that, you would have to relock the bootloader on a stock kernel, restore the TA partition and flash a stock ftf file
