[Q] Bootloader unlock WITHOUT Factory reset? - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Is there any method to unlock my bootloader WITHOUT doing a factory reset?
I like my phone how it is but am itching to try some other roms and see what else is out there - would be perfect if i could unlock BL, Install boot.img with CWM, then do a full rom dump so as I can just restore to EXACTLY how i like it should i feel the need to do so.
If no option to unlock without factory reset then is there another way to backup my phone in is current state and re-install when i want to?

[Q] Back up the stock rom without wipeing it from the root process?

I just got my Nexus S. Before rooting it I wanted to take a back up of the stock rom. All the tutorials I have read for rooting use fastboot oem unlock which wipes it clean.
I did find another tutorial that roots the phone without wiping it, but in reality it still wipes the phone and just leaves the bootloader locked. Totally not what I want.
How do I back up the rom without rooting it...or how do I root the phone without wiping it so I can do a rom backup?
Distortedloops guide does not wipe anything.

[Q] Unlock bootloader without losing data?

Hey folks! I completely forgot to unlock my bootloader when I first set up my phone, and now it's all set how I like it. I need to unlock the bootloader, but I don't want to lose all of my data. Do I have any options? BootUnlocker for Nexus Devices looks great, but it's not yet updated for the Nexus 5.
Not possible. Backup your data and then unlock the bootloader.

What would be the simplest way to back it up? I don't need a how-to, just the basic info. I know I can't flash custom recovery with a locked bootloader (obviously), but can I boot to TWRP using fastboot, do a backup, get the backup on my computer, unlock, then restore from that backup?
the whole point of the data wipe is to ensure that thieves can't access your data. in that vein, google has made it nigh-on impossible to unlock the bootloader without losing data. your best bet is to use a program like sms backup+ to backup your sms/call-out, and just deal with the app data loss

Shaky charging port, Unroot

Hey guys please advise.
My magnetic port is coming loose and harder to charge now. Planning to send to warranty claim.
Thing is its rooted. And I hardly use my old pc now. So checking is there any easier way to remove root other than reflash the stock rom?
Super thanks to everyone!!

The easiest way is to use PC and flash stock ROM, otherwise if you just unroot manually you could leave some files on the system that could only be there from root.
Even easier than using flashtool would be to force a software repair from PCComapnion, but be aware this wipes all user data, but will leave your phone in the exact same state as when you unboxed it.
However, if you rooted via unlocking the bootloader, then the only way to restore it to factory state is to restore the TA partition backup you should have made prior to unlocking and then flashing a stock ROM before rebooting if you are on a non stock kernel/ROM (To avoid bootloops)

how could i possibly unroot through pc companion it says that software is modified and cannot be updated.
You do not mean root then, you mean unlocked bootloader. To relock the bootloader just restore your TA patition backup

Need help Unrooting and relocking bootloader

I am running stock 9.0.3 ROM rooted with magisk and bootloader unlocked. Since i don't use root functionality that much so i have decided to unroot and relock bootloader.
Do i still need to flash stock ROM again? Or just uninstalling magisk will be enough? Any guide about this?
Thanks
Relocking the bootloader means you're going to wipe everything, so flashing oos is not your biggest problem, so wipe everything, flash oos(i guess you'll get the stock recovery back too), and then lock your bootloader again
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/tool-msmdownloadtool-v4-0-international-t3903272 this will do the job. It will wipe everything and restore your phone tho, so relocking, unroot etc.

That's right. It will look like just what your device is when you bought it.

[SM-G930W8] Custom binary blocked by FRP lock, Recovery possible?

I have a rooted G930W8 (Rogers), very similar to this old thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/sm-g930w8-custom-binary-blocked-by-frp-lock.3409757/
I saw some video that said OEM unlock switch is not needed after rooting so I turned if off. And after a restart I have "Custom binary blocked by FRP lock" and the phone just shuts down.
I do have the latest stock binary and Odin to try to restore. First I would like to know if there is any way to unlock or restore without loosing phone data.
The was the stock rom, just rooted and with twrp if that makes any difference. Can restore just the recovery or the partition and loose root but keep the rest?
And finally, how can I prevent this in the future? I don't want a lock to be possible, ever again. Would FRP destroyer work for something like this? Thanks.
If you want to use costum roms, you have to wipe your phone anyway. Thats why you should do a backup before doing everything else. You can try to flash stock rom with home csc and see if its working
Thank you, HOME CSC is what I was looking for. If it works great. If I have to wipe then I can try out some custom roms.
Also, should I use FRP destroyer or something else to ensure this can't happen again. Thanks again.
HOME CSC worked great and I am back to normal. Without root obviously. Thank you.
The I downloaded the latest build here: https://galaxyfirmware.com/model/SM-G930W8/RWC/G930W8VLS8CTI1 if anybody needs it.
I haven't tried, but anybody know if I could re-root without loosing data or if full root steps including wipe. I did enable OEM Unlock without issue.
I tried and failed with any root methods without a wipe as the all lead to verity error on boot.
I did the normal TWRP wipe no-verity magisk root and restored from backup so I almost back to normal.
The only thing left is to get the right CSC to get VoLTE working.
Also, is there a way to make accidentally locking the bootloader completely impossible so it can't happen again?
