Emergency Alerts - amber alert missing - Verizon HTC One (M8)

All,
First I am running Clean ROM and I also tested out on the RUU
Today not only did a tornado warning go out to everyone else s phone but mine, but an amber alert as well.
According to official VZW docs they exist: http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-96119/
Can anyone confirm or deny this or is there a setting in some prop or xml file to enable these?
Thank in advance

ok. found. it's NOT a rom problem.
it's a threaded sms problem!!!
I've changed the rom with udk 7.0r2 and, disabling the threaded sms view with:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSAvailable"=dword:1
Change 1 -> 0 and you'll have the old SMS
the audio/vibr disappears.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!
how can I DESTROY the threaded mode without losing the alarms???
HELP plz!!!
I can't use the threaded mode because with it neither CSB (CallSMSBlocker) or MagiCall works...
Did you verify that the option to notify by sound is turned on in Settings -> Personal -> Sounds and Notifications ?
Some roms turn the notification off by default.
Have you checked that it's actually enabled to make a sound on SMS?
Settings > Personal > Sound Settings> Notifications Tab; Event: Messaging: New MMS..
i have almost the same problems.
I have activated vibrate and show a pop up message when sms arrives,
but it neighter vibrates nor shows that pop up...
ideas???

Are you also running Dutty's 6.1 ROM? I would suggest running either KaiserTweak or Schapp's Advanced Configuration tool to make sure there isn't a hidden registry setting preventing the box from popping up.
I know KaiserTweak has an option to hide these notifications, and I myself have turned it on by mistake once or twice.
Yes I'm also running Dutty's 6.1 ROM,
ok, if I find a solution for that it's ok,
but i need the vibration when a new text message arrives...

it works fine for me with this ROM.
I just went to the Sound and Notification settings, go to the New Text Message, and put a checkmark on the Vibrate.
I've been getting all text with Sound and vibrate without problems..
I'm on a ATT Tilt. + RADIO 1.58.21.23
I am also getting MMS fine with this ROM.
do you have used the trick for leave threaded sms?
if is so, return to threaded sms. That trick modify a registy entry that disable the sms account on account selection in mails and the phone don't ring anymore if an sms comes.

Are you using a WM 6.1 compatible radio? I noticed that the radio version listed in your signature is for 6.0, but you also list your ROM as HTC stock, so I'm not sure if your signature is just out of date.
nevermind..... just change your radio to 1.58.26.20.

yes sry, it wasn't up to date,
I put the newest Radio on it, and tried also an older one, but nothing changed...
And I've changed back to normal SMS, because I don't like this new threadded version... is this the problem?
well... I've tried to setup the sound into the sound config panel but, even with all the options on, the result is the same.
I've not anymore threaded view of sms because CallSMSBlocker (or MagiCall) doesn't work with it, so I'm using normal (old) view.

I am in the same boat. I have aboslutely no system sounds at all. I am Running Dutty 6.1 official and upgraded radio to 1.27.12.17 (using on my ATT Tilt in USA). Phone volume is fine, I can make calls and they hear me and I hear them. I just do not have any system sound such as ringtones, playing mp3s, even sliding the keyboard or basic taps on the screen generate nothing.
I will keep looking for some silly tweak/setting that I may have switched, but I do not see it. Anyone else who has this problem and figures this out, please post.
I am too having the same problems with dutty's 6.1 any help would be appreciated

For starters, always read the first few posts when upgrading to any ROM. The user guide was in post two, and that isn't a recommended radio version.
What radio version do you recommend mine is 1.27.12.11 & do you have a link please. I currently have the kaiser tytn 2.
HEEEEEEELLLLLLPPP MEEEEEEEEE...........i installed dutty 6.1 and my radio is 1.27xxxx, and you guys would believe it........but i too have NO SOUND.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! i am unable to read the second post in dutty's thread because my browser is unable to scroll down to the second post!!!! Someone please tell me what to do cause i have no idea what is wrong.
I also have another problem, i cannot seem to tie my shoe laces. if someone can come to my house and do it for me it will be great. If not possible, can one of the cooks make this shoe tying function available in the 6.1 rom. you guys r0x0rzzzzzz the bestest cooks i am sure making a shoe tying function in the rom is so easy you can do it in your sleep.
Radio’s
All of these radio’s work with Dutty’s ROM
Please be advised that each radio will perform differently for each device or corresponding wireless carrier you may have. Note the radio will also have an effect on battery life.

HTC Fuze text message problem

hi i just got my htc fuze and i am having a problem. when i recieve a text message, i get no notifications at all. my phone vibrates when someone calls but the phone does not do anything when someone texts me. i have changed the settings to vibrate but it still doesnt work. i have the stock att rom and am using throttle lock and modaco no data. any help please?
no one? i really need some help
go into Settings/sounds and notifications / notifications/messaging : new text message. check the settings there. Hope this helps!
thats exactly what i did and it still isnt working. im clueless right now
now theres no light on the ring, and it doesnt show on the slider. i cant figure it out
I have the same problem....
Tired a hard reset of the phone and that seemed to fix the issue. Unfortunately, the problem has resurfaced again today. Seems like when I was using Windows Mobile Media Player, the available RAM it was taking up was around 180MB of the available 200MB.
During the time I was listening to the music (through a headset) I received a text message that was picked up by the Touch Flo messaging icon, but no notification was sent. When I clicked on "All MEssages" to get to the default Windows Mobile messaging center, the text was not listed there.
I am stumped at this point as well, anyone able to shed some light?
Personally it is probably the phone at this point. I had a different issue with text messages. It wouldn't send but could recieve and I just had to replace it and haven't noticed any problems with anything else on the new one.
If you are having issues talk to at&t and see if they can swap it out or something. I know it means starting over if you've done any tweaks or anything but it doesn't sound like the settings are wrong but the phone is probably bad.
just my 2cents
i have the same problem it just randomly started about 3 hours ago. When i receive a message i get no notification despite my settings for the phone to vibrate / message tone / light for 5 minutes...
I doubt anyone will check this after so long, but if you could tell me how you fixed the issue it would be appreciated -- or if you jsut had to take the phone back and swap it out
sms issue
are you using touchflo 3d? or the regular Win 6.1 Today screen? I was unable to view text messages under messages tab, had to view them through touchflo 3d only. Hope it helps.
Hey. ... I'm having this same problem!!
Has anyone found out what it is? Stock AT&T Rom, here is what my Device Info screen says (In settings)
Rom version: 1.95.502.5 WWE
ROM date: 10/20/08
Radio version: 1.02.25.32
Can someone who does NOT have this problem post what their AT&T Fuze lists on the Device Information screen in settings?
P.s. This same problem is referenced many times, links below:

i had the same problem. i used the restore settings option in the advanced configuration tool and it seems to work.
After months, this problem has resurfaced. It does vibrate when I get texts, however, after about an hour or two of texting, the vibration would stop again. The only way for me to fix this is to soft reset my phone, and being a big texter, this forces me to soft reset about 4-5 times a day. Has anyone come up with a solution or is it just an hardware issue?

Making outgoing calls on my Omnia

Hello everyone,
I posted this question over at the q&a section but i figured out maybe I was in the wrong section that's why I'm not getting any replies.
Anyway, I'm having some slight problem with my Samsung Omnia. It's from UK's vodafone but it has been unlocked and everything. Just received it today,
When I tried to make a call with it, the screen shows "Dialing..." and about 2 seconds later, it changed to "Call Ended". This seems weird to me. I can receive incoming calls though, as well as send and receive messages.
I tried to check the network settings and everything seemed fine. Later on, I realized there is a weird icon on the top right hand side of my screen, as shown in the attachment picture. Might this icon be the source of this problem?
Thanks for any advice in advance.
No, that icon has nothing to do with it. Your NETWORK ICON at the top bar indicates that you have full network coverage, so, my assumption is the following:
Your OMNIA is from UK VODAFONE and I think that the people made some mistakes during the unlocking / unbranding. Maybe they flashed a generic ROM for unbranding purposes and the RADIO ROM is not compatible or corrupt. Try to reflash your device with the original shipped VODAFONE ROM first and see how it works, then take it from there and try to find the correct generic ROM for your particular device.
Thanks for your reply!
Had managed to flash it to a more stable rom and it worked! Thanks!
Anyway, am still curious, what's the icon for?
Thanks again Junner2003

False Voicemail Indicator After Flight Mode

As far as I can tell, when I come out of flight mode (turn the antenna back on) I'm getting a false voicemail indication. Is anyone else seeing this? I'm on Sprint and I'm thinking this is either a problem with their version or a problem with a messed up database on the phone that I might need to purge.
I haven't totally troubleshoot this yet so I there may be some things I'm missing, but has anyone else seen this happen? It would surprise me if I'm the only one. I can't think of any programs or hacks I have that could affect this.
No problem here - Sprint Touch Pro 2 in St. Louis today.

Had the same problem. Try calling yourself from another phone and leave a message. Then check your voicemail. That cleared up my voicemail issue.

SecPhone - com.sec.phone - SecPhone.apk-1 - Sec.Phone.apk

Background:
Device:
Samsung Galaxy SIII (S3)
Verizon Wireless
Stock Rom Rooted Using "root66"
ClockWorkMod Recovery
I have just noticed in my "Frozen List" (via ROM Toolbox App Manager) that "SecPhone" is Frozen. I honestly do not remember messing with this at all. I am not the type of person to just "Test" things without researching it for at least a few hours via XDA and Google. I am sure I could have accidently Frozen it, but I have not taken note of it like I usually do when I make changes (in a notebook). I have no clue how long it has been like that and I have not noticed anything different about my phone.
I searched Google and XDA to find ANY information on this, but all I was able to find is something to do with a MOD that can be done to it to change the increasing ring volume on incoming calls. I also found information about someone using it to change the color of the "Answer Button" on an incoming call. I was wondering if someone could help me further to understand exactly what this is and what it does.
Issues:
None that I am aware of.
Nothing that I have noticed.
Questions
What is: SecPhone - com.sec.phone - SecPhone.apk-1 - Sec.Phone.apk ?
What is it's functions?
Is this bad that it is frozen?
What effects can it have on the device? (good/bad)
What would you do?

Was wondering the same thing myself. When I look at the list of running applications I see this service running under another service called syncmlsvc. I've been trying to find if this is a necessary service or is it safe to freeze.
I've always frozen com.sec.phone on every phone I've rooted without any problems.
The reason I would freeze it, is because it always showed up under Running Apps, and I had no clue to it's function.
If I don't know what it's doing, and it doesn't hurt my phone to freeze it, then it gets frozen.
My GSII still has this frozen and it's been over a year easy, no problems..
I think you will find the answer here on w w w.group-ssi.com website

is this a third party app. I have 2 versions of the same on the phone. com.sec.phone. The first one is a 3.7MB app that is a android system app and the second one had a green bug sign which has the uninstall version frozen(12KB). It has full access to the phone including contacts/cam/calls etc and has also no option for switching off the notifications in the settings/notifications option.
