I used TWRP v2.8
I had to wait (in recovery mode) until the screen goes off, turn it on without touching the screen, wait until it goes off one more time then turn on the screen before TWRP responds to my touches. [emoji28]
Of course, the first thing I did was changing screen on time from 60s to 15s.

Thank you. Which D820 do you got? The last time i tried several twrp recoveries and tools for the D820 but none of them worked. I really would like to root my phone. Unrooted feels unright haha.
I got the D820 single sim with Snapdragon 615 octa core processor and 2gb ram.
Thanks in advice

cant extract the files
are u done from uploading the files? i downloaded it and cant extract ( unknown format or damage )

Looking for ICS rom of Star N800 Mini i9220 MTK6575 Offering 5 $

Hi,
I'm looking for the ICS Android 4 rom of the Star N800 Mini i9220 MTK6575 Smartphone.
I've searched but unfortunately couldn't find any.
If someone with a N800 would offer to create a dump of the existing rom as explained here :
http://translate.google.de/translat...hina-iphone.ru/viewtopic.php?p=609028#p609028
I would pay 5 $ per paypal for the working and via SP Flashtool flashable rom.
Thanks in advance.
Thats because the guy (Taiwan101) who makes these roms always post them in mandarin. Im not sure if im allowed to link in here but try searching this in google: Taiwan101_STAR-N800_ICS_V.01-2.zip
Good luck
got it here

Hi,
if you also have the N800 I would suggest you downlload the Taiwan101_CWM_N800_Recovery (http://www.4shared.com/rar/73z80xNK/Taiwan101_CWM_N800_Recovery.html) and simply flash it with SP tool.
I accidentaly bricked my phone by flashing the wrong boot.img and recovery and with the mentioned one by Taiwan101 It worked for me and I could successfully unbrick my phone.
Good Luck.

Hello guys, I am Brazilian and I'm sorry for bad English translated by google. I'm new to the forum and need help, do not know to create a topic and then decided to post here. I bought a smartphone, Star + n800 it is equal to the N800, but with a mtk6577 processor, takes a lot of his original firmware, already tried everything not found yet, if anyone knows where to download for use in sp flash tool. thank you

Figured it out. yall can just use N8000's root. it will work.
Do guys notice the touchscreen is a lil less responsive on light touches? I believe its bcoz the ics used is for 5 inch screen which is scaled down to 4.3 so the sensitivity size should be increased but its not. I might be wrong.

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a N800 "EBR1.img" file with 2.0GB (System) + 0.5GB (Internal Storage), instead of the normal 0.5GB (System) + 2.0GB (Internal Storage)!
Anyone already done this? Can you share such file? Please?
Are there any other solutions for the Re-partition task?
Thanks in advance,

Thanks, but fortunately I did manage to do it.
- Root (using binary4) works great http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460.
- CWM (using AndoindMarket/Playstore MobileUncle app "free") and loading the recovery.img taken from "Taiwan101_CWM_N800-0920_Recovery.rar" (google for it).
- Finally Re-partition (2.0GB+ 0.5GB) using CWM and running this zip file "MTK6575_2gb_for apps_512_internal memory.zip" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695210

Hi,
i used a modified boot.img to root the phone.
I did it on my own for the phone i've bought at cect-shop.com (see above) so i'm not sure that it will work on other i9300s too.
I recommend to save your own boot.img first using the readback function from the flashtool with startadress:0x0000000000f88000 and lenght 0x00600000.
You are using this file on your own risk, good luck !

Take a look into ColonelZaps blog : http://colonelzap.blogspot.de/2012/07/star-note-ii-n9770-mt6577-dual-core.html
It's the same way, just use the i9300 boot.img instead of the one from the blog.
How to read your boot.img per readback should be clear if you play around a bit with the flashtool.

n9770root.zip includes all what you need, drivers (maybe the most difficult part), flashtool and a boot.img. This boot.img must be swapped with my file. You can do this by doubleclicking the boot.img in the flashttool after loading the scatterfile. Try it out, you can't harm anything as long as the phone is not connected.
When you opend the flastool you will find a button labeled with 'readback'. Click it, than press 'add' and enter the adresse and length. if you finished that press readback and the tool will read your boot.img to your harddisc.

You have to load the scatterfile, change the boot.img, then first press 'download' before you connect your phone which have to be off.
The download should start automaticly, if not or if an error-window appears the driver is not installed correctly.
I wasn't able to install the driver on 2 Windows 7 PCs. I reactivated my old Windows XP PC and was succesfull. It seems to be a bit difficult to install the driver.
The adresse and length should be the same on every MTK6577 phone, you had to connect your phone as the last step. Doesn't matter if you want to download or readback.
I know no other way to root a MTK6577 phone than flashing a rootet boot.img, it was easier on MTK6575 phones.
if i understand, i open flashtool, i make all like you say (boot img, scartet fil...), i click on download, i click on yes and i connect my phone (with or without batterie) ?
and i don't understand for save my boot ?

Yes, connecting the phone should be the last step. Take the battery out for a second to reset the phone and put it back before connecting it.
As you say you are an android noob i would urgently recommend to make a backup first.
Start the flash-tool -> load the scatter-file -> click on 'Read back' -> click on 'Add' -> doubleclick the new entry -> give a name for your backup -> enter start-adress and length -> click ok -> click on readback button -> connect your phone.
If the driver is correctly installed the tool starts automaticly. The result should be a file with a bit more than 6MB.

Yes, it is possible. First open the RUU installer. Keep it open and put it aside. Then you press control and r to open up the "Run" dialog box. Type in "%temp%" (without speech marks) and hit enter. A windows should open up with a lot of folders and files. Towards the top will be folders with VERY LONG names of random characters. Check each one for a file called "Rom.zip". Open up the zip and you will find the img files, in this case, HTC's stock recovery.

Would be eternally greatfull , pretty much given up on getting root on this phone. No one seems willing to make a recovery. I don't have Linux experience, so can't do it. Tryed every single one click root method and none of them work. Had an admin at ir-file make me one but it didn't work.

Well.. the outcome wasnt good. The recovery i tried didnt work. I just used a guide online xD. Maybe you could have a go.
yeh i'm just gonna wait on updates for kingroot, used it recently on a lenovo tablet and it worked really well. Kingroot is on version 4.1 hopefuly future versions will work with the desire 620. I'm not so much fussed about a custom recovery, i mainly want root to change the sd card permission issue that kitkat has. And also uninstall the amazon bloat ware to make more room on the internal 8GB.

HTC Desire 620 Single Sim
Hello!
I've found a way to get the stock rom on a HTC Desire 620! I found this:
FYI: my Desire 620 had no OS (blank) and TWRP 2.8 (higher versions crashed)
1. Go to: forum.gsmhosting .com/vbb/f485/firmware-needed-htc-desire-620-a-1953187/
2. Scroll to 06-27-2016, 22:54 skynett_md (thanks SkyNett for your files!)
3. Click on 'Here' in the sentence 'Here I made TWRP backups for version 1.02.401.1 and 1.51.401.5, OTA file that phone downloaded is in same google folder with backups.'
4. I downloaded the '1.51.401.5' TWRP recovery files
5. make a recovery in TWRP recovery
6. paste the '2014-12-31--18-00-33_KTU84P_release-keys' dir next to the other subdir in 'TWRP' -> 'BACKUPS' -> {subdirname}
7. Choose 'Restore' and choose the '1.51.401.5' recovery
8. If your Desire 620 is like mine, it will boot to a installed OS in spanish
9. Choose the spanisch 'backup and restore factory default'
10. The phone will boot to TWRP and the reset will be executed
11. The phone will boot to the OS and you can choose your language
12. After the install, I had some issues with the on/off button. This has been solved (software issue)
Succes!
SkyNett: thumbs up 4 u!

Any way to change boot splash screen?

I am on sprint, 6.0.1, rooted and S-OFF, and I know S-OFF is needed to modify the partition the boot splash is on.
You ever figure this out lol I'd like to know as well

My bro has the same phone that I do. He bricked his phone by flashing the aboot.img, so idk if I want to take the chance.
I don't think I will haha

I used the method posted by @The_scam. It works like a charm and does not touch aboot or any bootloader-critical partitions (the splash image is a separate partition).

Thanks, not to say your wrong, but just fyi, it actually modifies a small file in the boot.img I believe.

If your instructions are followed properly, download mode will flash the contents of splash1.nb0 to the "sp1" partition (mmcblk0p14 on my A9, likely for all A9 variants) and nothing else. The splash partition is then called by the Android kernel very early in init.

Yes, I am, and it works perfectly along with the bootanimation. (It goes well since I've enabled Google Assistant.) I may or may not make one of my own...just depends on if I come up with a good idea and enough time to put it together.
Back on topic: Yes, splash screen can be changed (easily and fairly safely) if you're s-off. See @The_scam's tutorial here.

Worked as it should. Pure stock rooted with some bloatware that can easily be deleted.
Good to have this for us H990 variant.
Thank you

You did not explain how to install it
Through instal
Or through backup
Because I asked and did not really get an answer
So I went the way I understand
It was ZIP twice
I deleted everything and needed the file again
After repeated attempts without success
I tried to create some interest in the model H990
And I failed in a big way
So I decided to go with the flow and transfer to another phone

You didn't fail, I think the modding community just moved on from this device a long time ago, especially since the H990 got root almost a year after release when the V30 was beginning to be hyped up.
We can't thank you enough for trying, though. It's a shame that this phone didn't get the attention it deserved.
You saved me!
I would like to buy you a drink. You absolutely saved my phone!
I have an LG H990DS that was on firmware v10e-AME-XX.
Following emdroidles dirtysanta, I flashed firmware H990ds10d_00_OPEN_AME_DS_OP_1216.kdz. At step 17 I flashed h990-kernel.zip.
I ended up with a phone that would boot into TWRP but not into Android (It got stuck on the 2nd LG logo). I could use ADB and I could use Fastboot. I tried to use LGUP to reflash my firmware but download mode ended in a static screen. LGUP would not not recognise my model beyond H99010p. I tried the common.dll and the patched LGUP as well, I got nowhere.
Sadly I had not performed a backup first. After a lot of searching I got your backup to work. Here is how I did it:
1) Download the folder [2016-01-01--21-11-52_NRD90M] onto your microSD card.
2) Enter TWRP and perform a backup. (This creates a folder unique to your phone.)
3) Using TWRPs filemanager, copy the whole folder [2016-01-01--21-11-52_NRD90M] into /external_sd/TWRP/BACKUPS/[your phones serial number here]/
4)Using the phones back button you can return to the TWRP Restore menu. AVIMPEG's backup is then available for you to download.
I at least now have a working phone. I would still like to get LGUP to recognise my phone so that I can flash the correct firmware again. Any ideas are welcome.
AVIMPEG how can I donate via paypal to you?
