Hello Guys!
I am currently using the first official CM12S Rom for 1+1. I cant do OTA. I get the following error.
http://dl-1.va.us.xda-developers.co....png?key=y8IMkjP7Mr7zIQOHMhrK6Q&ts=1431206384
So i currently want to completely wipe my phone (everything in my memory) and start freshly.
Kindly give me a link for a step by step process of doing so.
1. 100% Memory Wipe
2. Installing Custom Recovery
3. Rooting
4. Latest Firmware Installing (Probably YNG1TAS17L is the latest version)
Thank You

Go to my guide thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2839471
Follow the instructions in section 1 to unlock your bootloader, then go to section 8 and follow those instructions and you'll have a full wipe and the latest firmware. Then you can follow sections 2 and 4 to flash TWRP recovery and get root.

[Q] Assistance getting from stock to kitkat

First, thanks for the assistance on this thread!
I am new to this device and have been exploring the section to help a friend. Since I want to get it right the first time, i'd like to verify the process and get advice from the pros!
It appears that the device is on the stock rom, 4.1.1.
So, from there I plan on doing the following. Please correct me if i am wrong on something!
1. Install the universal naked driver: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386956
2. Update the device to the latest firmware and JB rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1697227
3. Root and unlock the device (now on 4.2): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1845377
4. Install TWRP recovery (preferred)
5. Flash new rom
Is this the correct method? Is this the best method? Is there a easier way of getting to a state where i can flash a 4.4 rom?
Thank you in advance!
For #2 I would use the built in OTA Updater to update the device in the Abbout page (because its "easier")
The rest look fine to me, I did the same procedure

OK so for the unlocking, lots of people are having trouble unlocking on the 4.2 Stock ROM. You may want to try unlocking with v7 on the 4.1.1 ROM, then upgrading to the 10.6.1.27.1 via fastboot and then you can follow the outline here to flash a kitkat ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48508679&postcount=7

Ah, dang... Too late on that one. Its already been updated to 4.2 in preparation for the process, which we want to tackle tonight.
What kind of issues are we seeing?

Well for some people the 4.2 ROM won't unlock using the tool, leaving them with a locked bootloader and inability to flash ROMs. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen to you.

Upgrading from CM 12.1 to 14.1

Hi, running OnePlus One rooted with CM 12.1 and I have a question about upgrading it to CM 14.1 https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/orig-development/official-cyanogenmod-14-1-oneplus-one-t3501278.
Do i need to first upgrade it to CM 13.1? Or, can I go directly from 12.1 > 14.1?
If the latter is possible, do I follow the instructions in the thread quoted or do I need additional steps?
thanks

Hi ,you can directly go to 14.1 but now isn't CM but LAOS , you only need to wipe data , system , dalvik except otg & internal and you should go install firmware , not sure cm12.1 one will go on 14.1 and flash rom + gapps + addons ( if you want )
Try this one : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952604019
Install newer TWRP before doing all I wrote to don't have a error
I use this one : https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/recovery-twrp-3-0-3-k1-t3563692
Thanks for your reply. Let's see if I got it correctly:
1. install newer TWRP - your link
2. install firmware - your link
3. download rom from https://download.lineageos.org/bacon
4. install LineageOS following these instructions https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/bacon/install#installing-lineageos-from-recovery
5. flash gapps
Am I missing something?

If you want root you should only follow this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
after ending rebooting your device redo your things with setup wizard … reboot recovery and follow the guide
it has many features than SuperSU when I used it

how to ota with root

I am rooted with custom kernel and recovery. What's the best way to take the ota?
What ota??
Before you create a thread here, please be more specifice. And use the SEARCH button.
I think you are trying to upgrade from 5.1.8 to 5.1.9.
There is a official thread here on xda. And everything is there explained, about how to update to the new version.
The way I did:
1. Flash full 5.1.9.zip
2. Flash twrp.zip
3. Reboot to recovery.
4. Flash Magisk.
5. Clear dalvik cache.
There is a dedicated thread for questions like this.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/official-oxygenos-5-1-5-ota-oneplus-6-t3794232
I just took the ota, then flashed WRP followed by Magisk

Hi, I'm planning to root my op6. Im not sure how the A\B partition thingy works so just trying to clear some doubts. After you flash the full zip in twrp in 2nd step by "flashing twrp" you mean flashing the twrp installer or you lose twrp and flash it using fastboot?

just flash the installer right after rom and you are good to go
If u don't need TWRP and happy with magisk, u can install ota with official updater and after that (before reboot) go into magisk and do --> install--> install to inactive slot (after ota). That's all.
After reboot you have updated system with magisk installed. I do this all the time.

S7 G930F stuck in a bootloop after attempt to install TWRP

Hi everyone!
I wanted to finally flash a custom ROM on my G930F (vanilla, with the latest official update) and started by installing TWRP (twrp-3.3.1-0-herolte.img.tar) via Odin (3.13.1) following this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/recovery-official-twrp-herolte-t3333770.
Everything was going smoothly until step 9, because after swiping right I tried rebooting before flashing anything (found a thread on Reddit advising to just follow the guide without proceeding with rooting as indicated in the last steps). So now I'm stuck in a bootloop and I have no idea what to do, I can only access Download mode but that's it.
How do I solve this problem?
Step 10 included scenarios for both if you want root, or if you just want to boot successfully
Did you download and flash the dm-verity and force encryption disabler zip as per the step 10?
Repeat steps 6-10 and flash that zip

Thanks for answering!
Yes I figured out, installed TWRP via Odin again and then tried flashing that thing without wiping as shown in the video, but then I got some error messages and the device wouldn't boot up again, telling me I had to do a wipe. So I just went into recovery and did a factory reset.
Now I'd like to flash LineageOS but I'm not so sure anymore since I've had so many problems, and I have a few questions:
Do I need to reinstall TWRP?
Do I need root?
What version of LineageOS should I download?
Is there a guide for flashing LineageOS on the S7?

Do I need to reinstall TWRP?
No TWRP will remain until you remove it or flash stock firmware.
Do I need root?
Not required to flash custom Rom's but useful
What version of LineageOS should I download?
Look at the ROM section and read up on which one you want, there are several different ones and builds so the choice is yours.
Is there a guide for flashing LineageOS on the S7?
There is always a guide contained in the post for the ROM usually at the beginning. The process of flashing Rom's is generally the same no matter what Rom you use.

Question Install official RUI updates from TWRP?

So, I rooted my phone, for which I needed to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP. Now, when I want to install an update on my phone, it downloads and when I want to install it, it jumps to TWRP recovery instead of the phone's recovery, so I can't update my phone. Does anyone know how can I install the updates from TWRP?
Else, reinstall the default recovery. (Only the recovery, not the entire OS since that would un-root my phone)
Thanks.
Edit: After it boots to TWRP, it apparently tries to install the update, since I can see it on the log, but when I reboot my phone it has not installed. It errors: "E3994: This package is for "2169B" devices; this is a "". Updater process ended with ERROR: 1. Error installing zip file '/data/ota_package/OTA/.otaPackage/my_manifest_RMX3370_11.F.04_3040_202302282047.44.36402b59_all.zip'
Edit 2: After failing to install it, it prompts me to re-download it and re-install it, but it jumped from ~500MB update to 4.76GB update.
( may loose data)
I read in telegram channels, this twrp: https://www.pling.com/p/1922292 support installation latest zip. but I haven't tried.
one more thing you can do is ( may loose data)
1. restore twrp backup for recovery partition ( if you don't have backup. search recovery.img in upgrade zip )
2. reboot to recovery to check stock recovery is installed
3. install update
4. then follow steps to install twrp and magisk ( root again )

Your guide is incorrect and will definitely put the device into bootloop.
** The twrp link that you shared doesn't allow system updates to install, it is just a A13 compatable twrp recovery.
1) What if that person has not created any twrp backup of all system partitions? According to his explanation, I'm pretty sure he has not created any backup of the partitions.
2) only flashing recovery image and installing the update will again put the device into bootloop because as confirmed by the OP that his device is rooted and due to root the boot image of the device gets modified so it will put the device into bootloop.
3) unless the OP has stock boot and recovery images at his disposal he should not attempt to install the update to avoid bootloop.
** Kindly avoid sharing incorrect information you aren't sure about the correct procedure.
procedure that I follow to flash updates :
1) in magisk - uninstall magisk - restore images
2) boot device into bootloader and flash stock boot and recovery.
3) boot device and install update.
4) put device again in bootloader and flash twrp and within twrp flash magisk and reboot.
I haven't found any easier way than this. If anyone has, kindly put it below.
There's a way
Rui 4.0 Android 13 f.02
So, any verdict on this new update for the people that did update to it?

Recetly I succesfully updated my Realme GT Neo 2 5G via TWRP recovery, the latest version support OTA.
Attention! After update TWPR and Magisk gone. Just reflash twrp and flash magisk normally. No need to reflash modules etc. (Just update from settings, no need to manually flash ota package from TWRP)
