Hi, I'm asking for your advice if you had the same problem like mine
I dropped my phone this morning from my desk. When I picked it up, it's still on. I tried to unlock but the touch screen was not responding
So I took out the battery and put it back on, to restart my phone. I pushed the power button, it turned on but only until the "SONY" logo, and that's it.
I kept waiting for it to show its magnificent colorful waves but nothing. Until my phone's running out of battery.
I plugged in the charger and it automatically turned on but still only until "SONY" logo. it got overheated I'm afraid it's gonna explode (is it possible? )
thank you so much for your help and advice. I appreciate any directions to get my phone back. :highfive:

Help!!!!
Hi mate. Even I'm currently facing exactly the same issue. I'm owning an Xperia L. As i'm way past my warranty period, i don't think it's feasible to take it to Sony service center as they will charge me with a hefty sum of money. So if u could just tell me how did u cope up with d issue and what was d cost involved, will be great of you.
Awaiting for ur reply.
Thanks.
Try Sony Companion Repair Phone Option
Restart phone in flash mode and try repairing.

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone can give me any pointers on what I could do.
I don't own the device since its my girlfriend's, but her phone is refusing to turn on, tried getting into the bootloader by pressing volume down and power - nothing. This happened after she left it in her locker at work with no problems and upon returning she found it like this.
Charging it up with battery plugged in does nothing, red led shows for about 5 secs then it turns green indicating the battery is charged? Tried taking the battery out and tried to power it from mains, nothing.
When I plug the phone into my computer it does show in devices and printers as a android phone so something must still be working.
Is there any way I can flash a new RUU this way or access adb? I've tried installing the drivers but when searching for devices it says not found.
She didn't let me root the phone when she first got it so it is covered under warranty, however when we phoned HTC to process a repair we told them about a screen crack which she incurred MONTHS ago, but they are now saying she has to pay for the screen to be fixed for the phone to be fixed under warranty even if we don't want it fixed? They can't even tell us how much it would cost either because they have to see it to get a quote :/
Needless to say I'm not very happy with HTC right now and not even sure if they are allowed to do this.
Is there anything I can do to see if I can sort the phone, or do we have to chalk up at least £27 for courier costs?
Cheers

Could you just send it and say the screen got cracked in the post

Once, i was halfway using whatsapp then phone turned off automatically, when I turn it back on i was able to boot up past the bootscreen until i got this: Refer to Picture 003.jpg
Then I did a complete reset via CWM. I even installed CNA 3.6.6 (I was using 3.5.0 before this)
Still no avail, do I've decided to flash back to 4.0.4 to see whether things are working out or not.
I did it via fastboot.
Same thing.
What could be the problem?
Do take note that even though in the picture I'm booting it up in safe mode but still no avail for normal mode.
And, when I'm charging my phone with the power switched off I'm getting this: Refer to Picture 004.jpg
Supposedly it's a battery icon that indicates charging activity but I'm getting a battery icon with (blinking) exclamation mark.
What's wrong?

Gonna try it soon as soon as my friend is with me. Anyways, the picture I've attached shows the shutting down popup.
When it first occured(and for the next few times)it's without the popup and i can't even pull down my notifications window. BUT the 4 buttons worked. they responded by vibrating.

warning! TL; DR post about what happened to my phone.
I've left my phone (accidentally) under heavy rain for almost an hour.
By the time I got my phone back it's still working, but with a (kinda) faulty loudspeaker.
Others went a-okay.
I turned off and let it stay put for everything inside to dry up then charge. Realized that I can't charge at all. I can't even connect to computer or whatnot. So I brought it to a service center. They told me it's mobo issue and I've decided not to fix it (cause my warranty's over)
That day when I brought it back from service center, miraculously I can charge my phone! was happy at first then I kept on charging. Then story continues as first post.
same thing here!

i bought my nexus from a man for 25$ because it wasnt able to charge and when u turned it on it just went stuck on the motion starting picture.
so i went to a technician and he told me to buy the usb port , i found the original port for nexus s on ebay, so he fixed it...
since then i am able to charge it (with a exclamation sign if its off) and i have even intalled every rom i have found here, via odin/fastboot/CWM, etc. but nothing... so it keeps on stucked on the starting picture, sometimes just SOMETIMES it went up like yours, *going up and saying/showing Android System icon, batterymetter on the upper part of the screen, middle screen; saying power off, shutting down, after some secs, vibrates and goes OFF.
only with slimbeam i got that behavior always turn it on.
p.s. the USB port was unable because phone have been wet (from the other owner hands)...
one thing, make sure the battery contact points are clean i know its dumb but it could help
Still the same.

Nexus S i9023 Android 4.1.2 Update
Yesterday i got OTA update 4.1.2 in my Nexus S i9023 in India. But after restarting the system for installation for some reason the update was not done. After hard booting the device when it logs on, it was showing 4.1.1. But when i am checking whether any system update is there, it is showing no update. How to get it again ????
Funny story, i woke up one day and wanted to check the time but couldn't, cause my phone had died just like that. Tried plugging it in but it didn't even hook up the power, cause the led even didn't start glowing not talking about being able to turn the device on sent it to the support center in riga. Waiting it to come back now.
What could have happened?
Has any1 any idea how this could have happened?
I do treat my phone with great respect :fingers-crossed:
Failed battery?
Have you tried leaving it plugged in / holding down the power button for 30sec~...
You can buy a new battery pretty cheaply if you want to try that option, otherwise contact HTC service dept. I suppose.
Already sent it to the the service centre in riga.
Tho im not sure if i pressed the button for full 30secs...
That might have worked, but we cannot be sure.
Hey community,
i bought a sony xperia z3 three months ago.
Yesterday I recognized that my phone was at 50% battery after charging the whole night.
I thought that its a bug or something and I got my real 100%, but after ~3 hours it was still at 50% and suddenly there was the "you have to charge your phone"-pop up for 1ms.
So i decided to plug in my charger and thought my phone will charge again. But no, the battery icon also switched from 14% to 50% in this 1ms. It was going on like (13%<->50%, 12%<->50% and so on) this until my phone died and got 0%.
I haven't unlocked my bootloader, flashed it or something like this. It was the original vodafone branded sony xperia z3.
Until now I can't charge my phone, because everytime I plug in the charger, my phone is booting with the low-battery icon and after 5 seconds it's turning of in a loop. Booting for 5 seconds and then shutting down and so on...
I thought my phone will have enough battery when I will plug in the charger for the whole night and my phone will try to start in this loop until it has enough battery. But again, nope!
Now I decided to unlock the bootloader and flash my phone with Cyanogenmod 12 or CMW, because my phone is accessible from the computer. I can go into the flashboot and flash mode.
But also after unlocking and flashing I've got the same thing again. It won't start.
I tried to charge it for about 4 hours in flashboot mode, because then the blue light is shining and my phone is not shutting down. But NOPE, same **** again.
I don't know what I can do anymore. Can you help me?
Do you think I have to change the battery?
Looking forward to hear from you! It's only three months old never dropped or something like this.
greetings and sorry for the wall of text
shimmy
bro warranty covers that, but as soon as u unlocked bootloader, u kinda voided that too =(
go to Vodafone and DO NOT mention that you unlocked bootloader and explain the problem within 2 weeks of purchase u should receive a brand new device and afterwards they'll repair it for you
I have a small crack (2mm thick and I think it came from pressure) at the backcover and asked vodafone if they can change my backcover, because now it's not guaranteed that it's waterproof.
They said no, because it's my own fault if something is cracked or broken on the case and I have to pay 259€ to get a new one.
Yesterday I called vodafone again because of this problem and they won't repair it, because of my first support case and I have to pay 259€ to get a new phone. I was arguing for about 1 hours that this is a guarantee case and it has nothing to do with the crack, but they don't care and there are some laws that I could say that they have damaged my phone and so on. No chance.. Maybe I should call my advocate.
I read something about locking the bootloader? Maybe I can flash a stock version and lock the bootloader?
Try yellow reset button.
I also tried this before. It doesn't fix the problem.
Hi guys, Sorry to bring up such a old post but having a similar issue.. My Mrs phone just started rebooting one day, Vodafone refused to replace because tiny crack. The boot loader is unlockable I tried repairing with xperia windows tools the flashed older and different firmware's many times. The phone works when connected to PC but when unplugged or on normal charger just constant reboot.
Any suggestions on what to do?
Thanks

Hey guys,
Have been using the xz premium (single sim edition) with unlocked bootloader and first version of Oreo ROM installed. The device froze the other day, then went blank. It won't respond to anything whatsoever (fastboot or flashmode) and I have pulled the battery leads and put them back again.
Any suggestions? I've had 0 water exposure and have no idea why this would be happening. Thanks in advance (=

You mean you opened up the device? The first thing you shouldve tried was holding the power button and volume up till it vibrates, if it wouldve vibrated. Since you say you have pulled the battery though that could only lead to either a dead battery or a faulty motherboard/hard brick somehow. Since you did nothing and the device just froze all on its own I cant say a dead battery would cause this as if it were the battery the device wouldve most likely powered off not froze.
Another thing that could be tried is to try power it on using just the charger. Also trying that without thw battery connected might help. If none of that works then the chances are its time for a motherboard replacement. Personally I wouldve just confirmed its death then sent it off to Sony for replacement. If the handset was completely dead and couldnt be recognised by PC then there wouldve been no way for Sony to verify that the bootloader was unlocked. Since you opened it to pull the battery that also would void the warranty. No matter how well you were to put it back together im sure there would be a way for Sony to verify if its been cracked open or not unfortunately.
I did a bootloader relock on my Xperia Z when I water damaged it and they never knew it had been unlocked and I got a replacement handset baring in mind that the device could be used just that issues occured with the volume buttons.
The most I can suggest is above. Either try the button combinations and charger methods, or considered a new device or motherboard replacement. Also if possible try the battery in another device if able to otherwise not much can be said without replacing. I hope this helps abit.
