[Q] HTC ONE E8 Mobile network LTE (4G) problem - HTC One E8

hi guys. i updated my one e8 3 days ago. but after update, i've noticed that i don't have any 4g option in preferred network. it only has: 2g , 4g , 2g/4g .
my htc e8 is the single simcart type.
i fixed this problem by going to phone option in *#*#4636#*#*
but everytime i pay a visit to mobile networks' page in setting, it switches to 3g automatically. and everytime i switch manually to 4g, it has to register on network.
how can i fix this problem ? is it going to be fixed on an update ?
I attached two pics about my problem. i wish you can help me.
thanks a lot

Try going to dialer and hit *#*#4636#*#*, it will take you to a menu, select phone information, I use WCDMA only, that connects you to 3g only. Once you choose a option that suits you, go to you Mobile Network Settings, and find Network Operators, choose search network, whatever networks are available should show up, choose yours. This should reconnect you to 3g.
it seems after investigating tht my phone didnt root properly and i have no idea whats happened :S i did (oh i cant post URLs intill after eight posts :/ it was on 'myhtcdesire dot com' method 2) , help lol

can`t get 3G/HSDPA on Sensation

I am now in Germany and I bought myseld a Sensation yesterday.
It is: Sim Free , Without contract but with only Vodafone branding (same as many of you )
Since I inserted my simcard into the Sensation, I did NOT see a single bar of 3G/HSDPA yet !!!
However I use the same card on my Incredible S, and I get full bar 3G/HSDPA almost everywhere, then I insert the car into my Sensation absolutely no 3G/HSPDA and therefore I can not read my e-mails, my weather won`t update etc etc.
Could this be because I am roaming at the moment ? Anybody have similar issues, this is for sure Phone related as the same simcard works on my Inc S perfectly well.
I am suspecting the firmware of Vodafone has a BUG on 3G/HSDPA when roaming !!! any of you get 3G when roaming on your Sensation ?
Had the same type of problem and resolve it creating a new apn in settings. My operator wasn't recognise fine by the phone (gsm ok but no data) : virgin mobile France (virtual operator from Orange France).
For apn data you can probably found it on your operator website.
Don't know if this is really your problem but just in case ...

Happened to me to. Go to mobile network settings. Add apn and them put your network carriers setting lol
it will work after that

Bravo !!
You are clever, because this is a brand new phone and I bought it while i was abroad (roaming) my new sensation did not get the apn setting from my provider automatically. So once manually activating it , it works like a charm. Thank you.
Now all i need is S-OFF the sensation
@ ikhzter just saw your post too
I'd be willing to try this. Would either of you happen to know how to add a new APN? And also, what settings should I put in for T-Mobile US? I can only get Edge speeds, too. I have tried everything else it seems, so this couldn't hurt lol

I think it's not possible because EU Sensation doesn't have AWS band. At least GSMArena says so. I heard people saying EU Sensation also has AWS band so I'm not really sure.

Check your mode, if u are in GSM its normal, use GSM/WDCA Mode... If don't work create new APN

[Q] Unable to find Network type selection under Mobile network

Hi All,
I took unlocked phone HTC Inspire 4G from AT&T. I recently updated to Andriod version 2.3.3. I am not able to find Network type selection like GSM/WCDMA etc.. under Mobile network because of this I am not getting 3G speeds even 3G is enabled on my phone.
It is showing 'E' icon on the phone instead of 'H'.
When contacted HTC they are telling that the device built in a way that it selects 2G/3G based on the availability but it is not showing 3G even though it is available.
The device is not yet rooted. Is there any way to get this option without rooting device?
Thanks in advance,
Vamsi
If you don't have that option here:
homescreen > menu button > settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > network mode
then you are not in a 3G area.
I have a feeling this has to do with hardware frequencies. This is me just guessing. You bought an unlocked inspire to use on a different carrier. If your in the us with tmo your stuck on edge. If your using this phone outside northamerica your stuck on edge. The rest of the world uses different frequencies. No way to change it unless you change phones
Have u tried dialing *#*#4636#*#* & choosing the option that way?

Are you having network problems? eg Generic Network Failure. or problems with MMS?
Using *#*#4636#*#* did not help to set network mode on HTC Inspire 4g

Hi, I tried this option and set the network mode to "GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)". I turned off and turned on the radio also. I even tried a restart of the device ( HTC Inspire 4g ATT ). But I still get connected to 2G networks only
Can you please help if there is any other way out ? Did anyone get to resolve this issue ?

Mobile network doesn't work anymore...

Hey Sensation community !
Since 2 days my mobile network stopped working, I tried ALOT of "solutions" which I found here but all of them didn't help at all...I even flashed a new rom + fireware, radio, etc...
I used the search function before I started this thread but I only found little threads with like 3-5 replys and they weren't even usefull - even outdated.
So to be more detailed, my mobile network icon pops up nomally after turning it ON but only the upload arrow is filled which means if I open the browser or any app it won't work cause there's actually no connection to the internet.
I checked my APN which is fine. Most of the people say : Fix your APN and it should be fine. - Great -_-
Phone informations:
HTC Sensation
ROM: Android Revolution HD 6.7.2 by mike1986
Adroid 4.0.3
HTC Sense 3.6
I'd appreciate it if somebody could help me fixing this annyoing issue.
If you need some more details about the phone let me know

Nope, as I said, I even wiped my phone new rom, new firmware, new radio and new kernel.
I'm having the same issue, flashed cm9 last night, everything was fine and working then this afternoon at about 2 my phone says no service. I put the sum card in a different phone and it still didn't work. I'm T-Mobile UK but phone is normally connected to T-Mobile/orange network

Check your settings under Network/Connection settings and see if it's set to the correct network mode.

They all fine.
One more thing to say.
If I'm using "GSM only" the internet works but it's hekka slow -_- As soon as I switch to GSM / WCDMA auto "H" shows up only with the upload arrow on and the internet stops working.
Guess nobody knows how to fix this crap.... :/
I tried putting the sim in a different phone and it still didn't work. Might be a sim card issue or Tmobile are having trouble, for me anyway

Did you call your phone company?
I spent 4 days trying to diagnose this same kind of issue once only to find out that my data plan had been accidentally deleted from my account.
2 minute phone call and everything was working again.

As I thought my problem was with my network provider. The phone seems to have reconnected to the network and I am receiving texts and calls again. Hope you get your issue sorted.

I can be pretty sure it's not the SIM cause I tested it on a UMTS/HSDPA Surf-stick and the internet works with it. It has to be the phone itself.

Bump....
If I change my network mode to GSM only the internet works but you guys know, its terribly slow. As soon as I switch to WCDMA only the upload arrow is highlighted and nothing works... Hope somebody can help me out -_-

Tell me what you're doing to make your "H" network work.
I meant WiFi thethering. My mobile network works only, if i use it for WiFi tethering. As long as i use the mobile network only on the phone, it doesn't work...

Problem data connections and lte

Hi guys,
i have european monosim htc one e8 opaj3000 m8sn.
Android Version : 5.0.2
Software Number : 2.34.401.5
I live in Italy and my telephone operator is wind.
Some times while using the phone , drops the data connection , even with full signal . Sometimes the signal resumes alone , sometimes I have to reboot my phone .
Also I can not connect to the network lte .
A friend of mine has an iphone 5c with a vodafone sim that takes 4g , I tried to put the sim in my phone but does not hook the signal .
In the settings I have only the following choices :
3g only , only 2g , 2g / 3g auto and 2g / 3g / 4g auto .
How can I fix this?
Do you think it is a problem of phone ( hardware or software ) ?
Please help me
Probably, it's a problem of lollipop...
How i can return to KitKat?
Sent from my HTC One_E8 using XDA Free mobile app
I have the same HTC E8 model, the same operator and I live in Italy too.
I have almost the same problem, random no signal and mobile data drops, although I never had to reboot (it always came back alone after some seconds). Don't know about 4g since I never went to a place with 4g available, as far as I know.
Also I noticed that the signal takes some time to settle after changing settings from 2g to 2g/3g eccetera, compared to my two years "old" Desire 601 in which it was almost immediate.
I guess it's something related to radio firmware

have you tried with another telephone operator ?
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem ?
I 've tried to contact support htc Italy , but I do not even know what we are talking terminal , since in Italy is not commercialized .
I haven't tried with another operator since I don't have another nano sim :/
Anyway today I've been able to connect to 4g without the need of supplementary configuration. Peraphs it was just accessible in few area (in this case Roma Eur) where I haven't been before..
Anyway I guess the problem could be with lollipop firmware, as you said you could try downgrading to kitkat, although I don't know how to do it
try to reset your phone back to stock and wipe data/cache maybe it will help
