[Game] [2.3+] Dot In A Box - Android Apps and Games

Hi everyone, I have just published the first game I have ever made on Google Play and right now I'm really dying for some testings and reviews to know how good or how bad it is. I hope someone can give it a try and give me some opinions about it.
My game's name is "Dot In A Box". As the title say, the game includes a dot and a hollow box with 4 sides of 4 different colors. The game's rule is very simple: tap the screen to rotate the box so that the dot can touch the side with the same color, every successful touch adds 1 point and the dot will randomly change its color. The game will be harder as the score increases: the dot will speed up gradually.
I think this game is a good way to test your reflexes and also improve them as your brain will have to respond very fast in order to keep the dot running.
I'm still a beginner in game development so the design and the graphic are still very simple and your support ideas are the best bet I can wish for, thanks in advance.

Hi,
I've tried your game a little bit and would like to point out some things, which, in my opinion could be improved:
* main menu text is really hard to read in colorful background, maybe adding an background views, rounding them and making white with transparency, would help. I'm not a big fan of that font either, but that's a matter of taste.
* ad area view is larger than the ad itself, doesn't look good
* what's the point of having to drop all the obstacles from fixed height? It looks like it's only to demonstrate that there is physics in the game and make the construction more difficult than it needs to be
* first time playing I had no idea about ninjas and where are they attacking from maybe some in-game guide lines would help or maybe a way to try their attack angles before placing all objects
* I can't scroll level list if I start scrolling on a level button (that fires an event to go to the level)
* Some animal animations (hurt/happy/falling) would be nice

1) ya right i will add something like button behind this text
2)on which device you are i have test it in three devices in none it is outside of actual ad
3) thats necessary just imagine how it would be if you have to directly put the object where you want also that can create some weird issue what if one put object on top of other object also by doing this it will make some what accuracy to drop the object as because of physics you have to calculate little bit
4) i had written it clearly in android market description seems no one is reading that may be one extra screen shot in instruction can help
5) that's why there is no button at right side
6) not possible because that needs designer and with my current earning it is even hard to afford dog or cat even dare to say mouse so no chance for designer

2. I've tested it on Galaxy Tab 7 and then on Galaxy Tab 10 (in this case ad area is even more "outside of ad"
4. Well, still, I mean there's no indication of possible danger to poor animal when you start your first game And, it's true, no one reads market descriptions and I don't think many are looking for game play instructions there either.
5. Wrong answer, really. I'll write a bit more below.
6. I completely understand you there
So, to elaborate more on points 4 and 5, I think you should give your game to as many friends as possible (and it's best if they haven't tried it yet) and just let them try to play. You'll see how differently they think and behave in a game environment being there for the first time. In my case (simple running/jumping game) I was surprised to see them just blindly tapping all over the screen trying to do "anything" and, despite the fact that there's instructions in the start of every level, they had a hard time finding out that game character can do double jumps and will jump higher if they hold finger instead of tapping it.
In your game, gameplay is much more complex, so tutorial with clear instructions is a must, in my opinion.
As for game level select, I can asure you, that 9 of 10 will try to scroll the button list, not the side, where is no indication that it's scrollable and nothing to scroll there.
Also, I've experienced, that in the start of some levels animals are being affected by physics (or maybe a wind?) and starts to roll, sometimes falling from the platforms. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but it makes level unnecessary hard.
Ah, one more thing.. I'm not sure that asking users for a 5 star rating is a good idea. In many levels.
And, lastly, take my advice with a grain of salt, since I'm just an amateur developer, still learning all these little things: what can annoy your app user and what can make them happy.
2) ya may be i cant see that is out side of ad because i have all device with small screen 3.2 to 3.5 inch so in large screen it will totally visible.
3) yup i will add extra screenshot to with ninja and darts to show animals are in danger from ninja
4) well thinking to add scroll bar somewhat like in browser to move how will be that
also the idea to try game on friends will be much better i will definitely. use that from now
"

yup 100% intentional need to be fast to solve those levels
"Ah, one more thing.. I'm not sure that asking users for a 5 star rating is a good idea. In many levels."
well i am not giving popup in middle of the game so definitely it will not annoy user but i am asking every time at the time of exit to give rate until they give rate thought user will give rating if they dont like this just crazy experiment with not much good result
one more game
guys you can also try my other game "feed fruit to the animal'

[Game][3.2+][Free] - HeadacheFactory

Hello everyone,
here is my first game called "HeadacheFactory".
I wanted to create a game without any enemies. The only enemy you have is your sense of orientation which you will surely lose in the process of the game.
And even though I didn’t believe anyone would ever make it through the first level, my youngest nephew managed it after just two days. So, I had to create another more complicated level.
It is available on google play. Just search for HeadacheFactory.
Let me know what you think and of course post problems running the game on your device...
Regards
Thomas

You have to navigate through a labyrinth. If you touch the walls, you have to start from the beginning or a savepoint that you have reached before. You've got to collect the purple dots, otherwise the grey square is growing and it is even harder to get through the labyrinth. And to make it even harder, the hole playground is rotating and zooming in and out, so you are going to lose your sense of orientation.
There is a little video on google play, that explains the gameplay. But the best way is to start playing. My nephews love it...
let me try
Missing this days big forum like XDA, i was a active user in Android Central now into XDA.
The game concept is interesting, please upload the screen shot.

[GAME][2.3.3+] Magic Land - The hardest game ever !

Hello everyone!
I'd love to introduce you to one of my game called "Magic Land"!
Some basic information about the game:
The game uses the ANDENGINE with the following extensions:
- Limbo
- TMXTiledMapExtension
- PixelPerfectCollisionDetection
- GooglePlayServices.
Game features:
There are a total of 45 levels (3 worlds, 15 levels each). Worlds 1 and 2 are easy-ish, however, world 3 is really hard, it's going to take you some time and thinking to complete it.
You can save your time and deaths counter for each level and compare them with other players from all around the globe. You can also log in to the Google+ services and see your and others results on the Google Play platform.
Controls are really easy, you can choose one out of two available options, which are ANALOG and DIGITAL. Using the DIGTAL setting you can move your character up, down, left and right. Using the ANALOG setting you can move your character up, down, left, right and diagonally.
If you can, please, download my game, rate it, and leave your comment. Constructive criticism is always appreciated, as it helps me improve! If you find any bugs feel free to forward them to me, thanks!

Good game, only thing that could be really improved is the way the item is controlled. (Joystick)
Cool game. Addictive.
But it is really difficult to control the square. And in my opinion it is the main difficulty of the game.

I just rated your game under username "BudMccrud.
Can you check out my game, and tell me what you think? http://bit.ly/1utlvFV
Also, I think you should make the box move a bit faster. I agree with the earlier comment, regarding the joystick control being hard.

Thanks. I rated you game also. Back button doesn't work and I don't see an exit button. Is it not possible to start without facebook login ?

yeah right now there's a bug with the back button. Just close the app, and register using an email. You don't need Facebook to login.
So dificult . Like the other user said, the joystick controls are a little bad, but thats the only problem !
Nice!
I think that it is really good! What markets for ads do you use?
Great game! Landscape really is more engaging than portrait for games.

Can you show us the 9gag post? And why are people writing in the comments that they were coming from 9gag?
Nice graphics!
Hi everyone!
For reasons I don't fully understand (well, anti-spam policy), I couldn't post any link or pictures, so thanks a lot @kirito9 for adding the link.
About the 9gags comments, well, I'm an avid 9gagger (it ruins 1 hour of my sleep every night...), so I decided to show off my game to the community and ask them for update's material suggestion. And I got a LOT of ideas coming from it:
9gag.com/gag/agNjPGw/this-is-airmadness-a-little-game-i-made-i-d-like-your-suggestions-for-next-planes-environments-please
Feel free to do the same and suggest planes and/or environments ideas!
Cheers!
Julien
I must say the idea is a bit overused, but I really liked the graphics. A lot.
When I played it I failed to see some type of qualitative progression. A great improvement would be to change the scenes dynamically as if they were levels (sky then sea then land then volcanoes then...) but it might take you a lot to add many scenarios with other objects than rocks. Maybe with other landscapes you can add moving objects and increase the variety.
Meanwhile, if Unity supports tilt movement you can add it.
Hope you find it useful!
@randomlabs Thanks. For sure, the concept isn't new. It's really really close to a "Race the Sun" for example, but I wanted the environments a bit more real, less etheric.
I plan on adding more environments and planes. A "story" mode, where you have to finish all levels in a row with at least 2000 points is a very good idea. I'll consider that kind of udpate.
Julien

[4.0+]Top games on Google Play

Hello, I'm a 22 year old boy, for some years I entered the world of programming in C ++ and Java, I started with small home automation control applications for state exams, now I switched to something more innovative, games for Android .
I just hope I live up to your expectation
Sorry for my English a little cumbersome.
1)The first game that I present is an Arcade game in 2d created with Android studio, where you are a spaceship and you must destroy other ships and get a high score to enter the hall of fame, there is the possibility to take the gadgets to make things easier
(BokeGame on Google play)
2)This is always an Arcade game where you have to build a tower, you create with bricks falling from the sky, and are of different colors and speed.
Let's see if you're good at to keep everything in balance!
(BlocksUp on Google play)
3)the third, the last preserved because it is the most beautiful.
You're practically in a 7x7 grid and you must match the colors vertically or horizontally to make them disappear, and then create new space for the colors that come out, if you mess will come out 5 new colors!
This it created with Unity3D.
(LineSwi on Google play)
I'm so sorry, but since I'm new I can add links that redirect to google play, if the game only to your height please leave a comment and help me .. so I can continue studying these programming languages, and to perfect, create new games for the community.
Sorry again for my english. Thank you very much.
Sorry

You seem like a good programmer. I would like to give you two tips:
1. Try to give a little more thought to naming your games. The names are not that appealing and this is very important. Try to give your next game an over-the-top name.
2. Spend more time on graphic design or try to find somebody in the community that can design your graphics. It will make your games a lot more appealing.
And finally, I'm jealous of your skills. If only I could reach your level. Keep going!
Thank Slagathor, you've been really nice, the next release of the game that put a more recognizable name, these are just horrible, but they were the only ones that came to mind ehehe.
I just started and I noticed that the most difficult step is just to advertise their game a bit to the name, a little bit because it is with little graphic.
I thank you for your comment, be the name that will work on the graphics (at least for what you can do )
Sorry for my English..
[Edit] Sorry !
I have recently joined this world I find myself with a question, maybe the bigger one:
How do I advertise an app, without using the usual means of advertising such as Adwords etc ..
Honestly I produce only games with no gain or, no advertising, no in-app purchases. I do not think the case to spend $ 500 for just over 3k downloads ..
