Welcome to the world of Paranoid Android.
This ROM at its current stage is not for everyone. It is very close to stock and does not feature x, y, and z like other ROMs do. What made it famous once is the great bunch of developers behind it, bringing most innovative features to Android devices, carving a path to what is Lollipop today. Immersive mode, per app settings, halo, hover, pie, are just some of them worth mentioning. Meanwhile, the devs are busy with the real world, currently building OxygenOS for One Plus. Whether or not PA will return to its former glory, we can not know. Devs that are still there say good things will come this summer. Let us hope so. Apparently not.
Flash this ROM if:
You are PA nostalgic.
You do not mind things being broken occasionally.
You like speed and basic AOSP.
You like being unique.
You are paranoid.
You are cool.
Do not flash if:
You do not know what AOSPA/PA is.
You like stable ROMs with regular release cycles.
You have no time or know how to do logcats.
You ask too many questions.
You are uncool.
This ROM uses CM device tree and AOSPA Legacy sources for everything else. Flash at your own discretion, I do not feel responsible for anything that might happen to your phone as a result of using it, or consequently anything else in your life. I like breaking and fixing stuff, so if your phone breaks I will try to help in fixing it but no promises made. Download links in second post. Other stuff in third.
And, most importantly, #stayparanoid.

Nicely said, lol. This however is not official, yet. Will see how the big boys in PA will play. And remember - #stayparanoid.
Dear Encho,
First of all I would like to thank you for all your hard work and for all these quality ROMs! I'm sure that I'm not the only one who thinks that you should earn some $ for coding this stuff...
But I have a BIG issue which breaks my satisfaction completely when using AOSP based roms for my N9005. It doesn't matter if I use your Paranoid, or Euphoria, or Temasek's, or R-Remix, or official CM12.... On every Lollipop AOSP/Cm rom I can't send and receive MMS. Also, I'm experiencing network problems - my phone keeps loosing the connection 2-3 or more times every hour. I noticed this is happening about 10 seconds after I hit "send" button (MMS). I have checked everything billions times, APN settings are allright too.... The weirdest part is, on 4.1.x AOSP roms, everything runs perfectly fine, with no delay, just like on TW based soft... I have no idea what's causing this :-\
I'm sorry for bothering you with such problems, but maybe you know the answer to this mystery. I'm stuck with this issue from the beginning. I found a few guys who experienced the same problems, but I think they just quited AOSP roms and returned to stock/TW... So am I
Trying to flash and my phone is telling me this is for hlte and my phone is hltecan and it's not compatible. I've never had this issue before. Anyone know what causes that?
Thanks
can't get it to write to the SD card keeps giving error that this has stopped copying

You are up to date, so that's not it. Could be that your APN settings are wrong. Can you check your official provider's APN and compare with what you have in network settings?

I've also had the same MMS issues on all cm/aosp ROMs. There is something not working properly with the default messaging app. But if you install google messenger MMS should send through that just fine, at least it does for me. Here's the google play link for it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging
@encho will this rom work on hltespr? Ask because most have a seperate hltespr build.
well i see you give good support
count me in:laugh::good:...just installed it working great so far..
curious about the battlife..come back one this after 2 cycles
thanks

Great thanks for the reply. I'll give this a run later tonight. One more quick question. Do your other roms support sprint? Bliss and euphoria in particular.

Hey fellow Atrix 2 users, here's my first ROM built from source: Carbon. I realize that there is s port already form the hard working A2EPT (and much faster than myself!). I built this a few weeks ago and thought I'd share it anyway (with their consent). It runs prettys smooth and has been trouble free for myself, hopefully it's the same for you!

It is using CM's kernel but I read that altered was making more changes to it over the last couple of days so I might be missing some of them. My machine is syncing some sources for another ROM at the moment, I'll rebuild it this afternoon and post it.

You wouldn't see it in other ROM's because it's specific to Carbon. I believe it's related to their OTA updates. I just disabled it on my phone and everything is fine. Maybe I can look into disabling it out of the box.
I used Link2sd to freeze it and everything works ok. I'll keep it frozen for a few days just to make sure.

Could be, this phone had to have had one of the longest runs as far as developing is concerned. Now with Sprint on the verge of doing away with WiMaX, I think it's a safe best that this phone will finally be laid to rest lol
If only they would build another bad arse device with a awesome keyboard. Of all the phones I ever owned this was by far my fav. Which is why I just bought a newish one. hopefully I can find valid links to make it the beast its was ment to be.!
I finally got my Epic out of retirement and flash with 4.4.4 and gapps 4.4.2. this combo has the best stab;e and speed, i tried the open-gapps 4.4.4 but i bogged the phone down alot.
btw anyone have a working link to SlimKAT 4.4.4 only one i have used thus far is CM 4.4.4 unofficial

Don't be too excited folks. I used CM source for tate to bring this build (AOSP source isn't working yet). Plus, I had to tweak Slim source a little bit. When AOSP source will be done, I'll bring new build which should perform better. Some glitches occur, but the ROM does the job. And of course, if you found some bug, post about it here.
I will give this a try tomorrow! Thanks!

If you found Bluetooth issues, please, confirm it. If you didn't flash the ROM, confirm it as well. THERE IS NO PLACE FOR "MIGHT BE". Don't forget, that's a test build. AOSP base is needed to make it work 100% properly.

I'm not sure if it is just me, but I was unable to set up the rom. Everything flashed without an error, but when it got to the setup, all I could see was a small portion of the screen about an inch high x 2" wide right in the center. The text inside the window looked like it was the correct size, but I was unable to move it or enter any information for setup. Do I need to change any settings before flashing?

Try to press on power button then press on power button again. Or tap on this small portion of the screen. I've seen it before. Again, that's a test build, but I'm sure it can do the job even with these little glitches.

The second time's a charm! I have it up and running. Still in setup right now, so I'll try to give some feedback in a day or two. :good:
So far so good! I like how it uses less RAM than others, and it's pretty smooth and responsive. I had to get used to the navigation buttons looking like they were showing that they'd been touched all the time , highlighted I guess would be another way of describing it, but everything's working fine so far. I haven't tested Bluetooth yet. Since I don't use Bluetooth or the camera on my Kindle, that's not a priority. Overall this is a pretty smooth build!! I will be running it for a while. ?

Thank you for your feedback. In the future, it will be even better. Bluetooth should work too. It was just a suggestion by some user, who can't even confirm it. Camera works, I've seen it personally. I found the main problem with AOSP building, probably it's easy to solve it, we'll see. And, honestly, I'm surprised it's a pretty smooth build. Perhaps, I didn't wipe internal storage and some odds occurred.
If somebody can help me bring updated version of Slim6 without glitches, please contact me. You just need to download the source, my branches, change a couple of makefiles, nothing extraordinary. My building machine (laptop) is slow, I'm working on bringing other ROMs, so any compiling help deeply appreciates.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
1. Big thanks to @r3t3ch for unloading my laptop
2. The previous build was removed due to there is no point to let it live.
3. New build still has navbar glitches, but now it's definitely less glitchy. (Must be some specific Slim overlay stuff, will be fixed later)
4. 3.0.101+ kernel replaces 3.0.72+ kernel
5. Bootanimation is fixed

Installation: Full wipe/Flash ROM + Open GApps
Alex32,
Tried dirty flashing this over your latest 6.01 beanstalk,
which I have been using for a while and like a lot.
Wiped only caches, reinstalled gapps, android system
kept crashing upon reboot. Maybe the newer kernel
requires full wipe?(I know instructions say full wipe), but
I have been dirty flashing different mm builds of yours.
Wondering if I can just flash the new kernel from the rom in twrp
or do you think I will run into the same problem with crashing?
Just can't help myself I'm a flashaholic and wanted to try. Thanks

Slimrom isn't based on cm, so of course it's broken if you do that. Even flashing between cm variants without wiping system isn't a great idea.

Understood, I do realize that's a risk I take by flashing. That's why I have a fastboot cable and backups. I have had a lot of success switching between cm13 variants by dirty flashing without issue.
Didnt realize slim wasnt based on cm. Suppose I could try wiping system this time. Thanks

I'm not even sure it will work cleanly without a data wipe as well, though I understand the inconvenience. I usually use tibu to restore just user apps but if you have a lot of apps that can be time consuming as well.
Also to note, with all builds posted by alexander_32, the bootloader has enabled holding volume down to fastboot (vol up still recovery) so it can make entering fastboot mode a little more convenient.

You really should read instructions, descriptions, and follow them
Curious though I was able to upgrade your most recent beanstalk to your final beanstalk with the new kernel. Dirty flashed.

No offense, but you better help me to make a test build for Slim6, than post stuff like this. And I'll make a test build for Omni today.
The Lineage OS team has ANNOUNCED official builds will start rolling out soon, and will be available HERE.
*Announcement Below*
Update & Build Prep
Alright, alright, alright - it’s nearly ‘go time’ for builds to start flowing. Before everyone gets excited and rushes to download, we want to cover a few important points.
First, we want to thank everyone that stepped forward to assist with the infrastructure (and offers continue to pour in). Thanks to you all, all infrastructure pieces are lighting up ‘Operational’ on our lovely status page.
Additionally, our Download Portal, Install stats page (yep, that’s 50k+ unofficial installs already!) and Wiki are all live. Notably, all three of these sites (and this blog) are open sourced - you can contribute to them via our Gerrit instance! Bear with us if these sites look bare at the moment, they will grow with content and design as we continue marching forward.
On to the fun stuff - build roster, release process and other details:
The build roster is ever growing, but we are supporting Marshmallow and Nougat capable devices.
We’ll list the 80+ devices in a separate post.
Our release cadence will be ‘weekly’ by default (to be nice to all the donated hardware).
We will NOT be shipping root baked into the ROM.
Root will be a downloadable zip based install similar to gapps installation (only need to flash it once).
Home builders that want to bake su back into the ROM can use the command ‘export WITH_SU=true’ prior to building.
Our official builds will all be signed with a private key for authentication and signature permission control
This will not break, prevent or stop any ‘unofficial’ builds.
Key verification info can be found on the wiki Verifying Build Authenticity page
Regarding installation, we recommend that users wipe when switching to LineageOS, and reinstall their gapps. However, we recognize that this can be time consuming, so we are offering an EXPERIMENTAL (read as, if it fails, you’ll have to wipe anyways) solution.
Alongside the ‘weekly’ release for your supported device, we’ll provide an EXPERIMENTAL data migration build.
This build will allow you to ‘upgrade’ from CM to the signed LineageOS weekly
This build may wipe permissions (you’ll have to re-allow app permissions), but should retain all user data
This build will be watermarked with an ugly banner to ensure that you don’t permanently run this EXPERIMENTAL release, and upgrade to a normal weekly after.
The process for this installation will be as follows:
Install EXPERIMENTAL migration build on top of cm-13.0 or cm-14.1 build (don’t try to install LineageOS 13.0 on top of CM 14.1, that will not work).
Reboot
Install LineageOS weekly build
Reboot
Re-setup your application permissions
Given the EXPERIMENTAL nature of this process, we are going to remove this option in two months time.
Look for builds to start rolling out this weekend!

I am using SuperSu.
***The OFFICIAL Lineage OS root zips are for version 14.1 only.***
OpenGAPPS in case you need it.
Xposed Framework in case you need it.
Otherwise at this point it really doesn't seem too different from CyanogenMod.
Don't get too excited.

Things like no data, no GPS, and no camera are definitely a deal breaker for "daily driver" status, but being able to build would be a start.
This ROM you need to flash su.
Is this the worst developer friendly HTC device out there or what??
Honestly I am frustrated and the only coding know is setting the lockscreen on my phone

Yes, by default the Developer Options will only allow you to enable root for ADB. I will update parent.
Is there any sign that we will get lineageos 14.1? The m8 and the m7 already have it. Btw no offense to you

Haha ! Add 'no MMS', 'dialer crashes when making call', etc to non-daily driver status too. Not about this ROM, but I've seen ROMs like that in the past.
Here's hoping that the ones you list can be fixed as well as WiFi calling and VoLTE.
Unfortunately this phone suffers from the worst thing that can happen to a phone: The devs have either given up completely or are no longer motivated to work on it.
The One M8 was released in 2014 and it still has CM/LOS updates MONTHS before the M9 does.
Browsing other device forums it's clear that many phones (both older and newer than our M9) have had LOS14.1 for a while now.
We still have CM13 threads on our forum, and the AOSP Nougat based roms for our device have more problems than things working (especially the camera, which was fixed back in the MM days.... )
To further illustrate this, look here http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-lineage-os/
The M8 (even the uncommon dual sim M8) has official 14.1, the M7 has 14.1, the One Max has 14.1, the HTC 10 has 14.1, even the One S (from 2012!) has 14.1 before we do. It's just sad.

Let's not let this turn in to a ***** fest.
I think we're all very frustrated.
I'm not home this weekend, but when I'm home next weekend I'll do a repo sync and post an updated download if official builds don't show up anywhere yet.
The official downloads page is finally starting to get some devices on it. Our device is still a no go, so I will continue to post UNOFFICIAL builds as I make them (Check first post). Will post more news as I find it. Feel free to do the same as long as it's relevant.
Hi!
I tried a lot of firmware and TWRP versions, but LOS 13 and LOS 14 stuck on boot. I wait for 1 hour and nothing.....
The CM13 and CM14 works fine for me.
Now my phone on CM13, 3.35.401.32 firmware and TWRP 3.0.2 working fine.
Any idea?

There are a number of threads/forums dedicated to helping resolve flashing, bootloop, and stuck on boot errors that may be a better place to get the help you need.
They will probably ask you to double check the device you are using, download a new copy of the zip file, and do a factory reset prior to flashing. If you have tried those things they may ask for a link to a copy of the zips you are flashing.
I apologize if that's not much help.
With any luck you'll get it figured out. :good:

2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.

As I said, 10.3.2 is the recommended vendor.
As I do not have the device myself I cannot debug the fingerprint issue easily.

Sorry, I wasn't rushing you. I'm currently backing up now, so excited
OK I'm writing this as I do it:
Was MIUI 10.3.2 as recommended. Also used TWRP 3.2.3-1020 by L.R.team
Wiped DATA, formatted data, then formatted Dalvik/ART Cache + system + cache, Flashed ROM, Flashed gapps pico. Reboot.
At first I got a bootloop, but then I rebooted into recovery and tried to reboot into fastboot, but then I "accidentally" rooted (believe it or not). And then I got to the splash screen. Then it said that "my vendor image does not match the system. Please flash the O11019 vendor image for your device." (This might be because of my root, MIUI gave a similar error (system error, etc)., I pressed OK, my phone started to encrypt itself, and then 30 seconds later, it rebooted.
First boot took 60 seconds only. Setup was easy and went smoothly.
Camera (picture+video), hotspot, all working. It seems to be stable. (Except fingerprint ofc) Calls working fine
Thank you so much for this! I will test battery life after installing greenify overnight.
EDIT:
I take this back. OUTGOING calls work fine, but INCOMING calls do not work. INCOMING and OUTGOING TEXTS (SMS) DO NOT work..
Sorry for the confusion. At the moment I can't see any more bugs. After I get CarbonROM setup and everything I'll make a full backup, then revert to MIUI for the moment.
Still, thank you for your development, I may search around the forums for a solution. This issue was common on other custom roms for ther edmi 6
One more edit: Apparantly LTE was causing issues. I changed to 3G and everything is fixed. But now I can't select LTE again. (Mobile Network>Preferred Network Type)
