White status bar on lockscreen and other apps - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got my S6 (SM-920FD) however the status bar on lockscreen seems to be white instead of the wallpaper being shown.
It looks like the wallpaper is not extended upto status bar. I also noticed this issue on some apps (which works perfectly on my other devices), its only S6 having this issue.
Please see attached screenshots.

Hi, did you ever find a way to fix this annoying bug? Mine looks the same after I installed the Avengers theme - which I didn't like - so I switched back to the default theme. The status bar on my lockscreen looks the same as yours ever since, switching around themes doesn't fix it. I'm thinking the culprit is the white wallpaper of Smart, which is the default wallpaper of the default theme.

I'm also having the same or simlar issue with white status bars on S6 edge (SM-925F). I am noticing white flickering battery and signal metres on a refresh. The play store side menu is also white where my background picture should be. I changed firmware to use CSC XEU. My phone came with a German firmware installed with CSC DTU I think. I'm hoping that the 5.1.1 update will solve this.

Fixed with 5.1.1 update.

Any registry tweak to not show running program name in title bar?

I was wondering how to disable displaying the program name on the taskbar - is there a registry tweak for this?
It's just a cosmetic thing, i would rather see the taskbar clean with just the icons and time instead of having the current running program's name on it.
Any solution?
The closest I've come is by using something like Tweaks2k2 to change the Start-bar font color. So using something like Vicott's great UI Tweaker app, I change my top/bottom bars to all black, then change the font-color to black too.
That will "hide" the program title but, as a side effect it also changes the Time font color. Your signal bars, data connection, battery are untouched though.
It's simple, elegant and my choice for doing things, but like I said you loose the clock. Also, matching the exact colors to the top/bottom bars can be tedious if you don't know their exact color codes, if you do you're all set.

It looks really nice, the way you have done your layout - I like it a lot. I tried changing the colour of the text, but the thing is, I don't wanna loose the WM6 bars - and I am not able to find the matching colour while keeping the "glass" look. But thanks for the advice
If you don't want to lose the clock, you can use analogic clock instead of digital clock (long click over clock to change it)

[MOD] SystemUI w/ Quicksettings

Basics
I've been slowly putting this together so I thought I'd upload it for the other people that are on stock while waiting for CM10 and AOKP to be ironed out. This has lidroids quicksettings that were ported by wanam. The original quicksettings icons were kind of sketchy so I ported the CM10 ones over and made reboot and standbye ones. The screen timeout icons are replaced by circles I made because I couldn't find any good ones and I wasn't satisfied with any I made.
To install
*requires a deodexed ROM
*flash in CWM
Thanks to
*lidroid
*wanam
*electron73
*cyanogenmod
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fj6kcwhzqdf19in/ImasModToggles.zip
Features
*911 location icon removed
*customizable quicksettings
*carrier label, date, "no notifications", and "ongoing notifications" font all changed to white
*brigtness bar with white icon
*changed settings icon
*CM7 style battery icon
*ICS blue signal bars and in and out arrows when active
*removed AM/PM
*aligned and centered everything
*currently no charging indicator icon

Very classy looking theme. I'm curious, do you have any intentions of doing the dialer, or settings?

I want to but I'm not really into full fledged theming. I can do the photoshopping easily but finding out what image goes where is a huge pain. I'd really love to do them though and get that nice unified ICS design.

Android L Screenshots with mini review

Just got the Android L preview and thought I'd share some screenshots
If you want a screenshot of a certain screen, just ask
I got the image on an emulator as i don't have a Nexus, shouldn't make a difference though
Ok so the boot animation is the same..this might be because it's a preview because i was expecting the new Android logo
Home screen icons are still the same, probably for the same reason
This is notification centre, opened by swiping down on the statusbar
I have no notifications though...

This is "Phone"

You can see the statusbar blend in
Recents
Emaultor isn't capable of rendering graphics well enough to show previews
The navigation bar has been made transparent
Clock
All new Calculator
People
While setting up accounts, we come across the new keyboard
And after adding a contact
We get gmail-like contact pictures
All new battery saver

I will add more later
Thanks for this review and screenshots! :good:
What's new in Security tab? KNOX feature inside?
Yes it's awesome. I'm using it to type this. The animations are great and system is running extremely smooth on my Nexus 5.
Can't wait for the full release.

S8+ suddenly has weird lines around most app icons...

I just got a new S8+. Great phone. I've been busy setting it up, and suddenly I noticed all my app icons have weird white lines around them. This is not the "icon borders" that can be turned on and off, this is something super weird. (see screenshots)
Even more strangely, the line-drawn-box doesn't appear around every app icon. Netflix, Chrome, Firefox, and some other apps are "spared".... but most apps icons have this weird icon around them.
I'm using Holo Launcher, but it happens with the stock TouchWiz launcher, and in the default theme. I checked accessibility and I don't see anything turned on in there.
Anyone know what this is and how to fix it?

After some more digging, it seems to be a bug between Samsung Themes and third party launchers like Holo and Nova.
I was able to fix the icons by setting to default theme, then going to settings - apps - app manager - holo launcher, deleting both cache and data, then force quitting Holo.
If i change the theme, the problem comes back.
Unfortunately, activating "max battery saver" enables a theme and triggers the problem.
Yes, seems the Samsung OS is sensitive to icon framing and other corruption from non-Samsung sensitive theme'ing.

Annoying bugs after updating to Android 10

1. Sometimes applications after being killed stay in the task manager and hang until a new application is opened.
2. In the dark, with the minimum screen brightness, with the dark/black wallpaper set, a grey bar is visible at the top of the screen.
- This is a software issue, because this is only visible on the home screen and when you drag application icons around the screen, this bar disappears.
- Probably related to the effect of dimming the screen at the top and bottom by the launcher.

3. Dark mode for some reason darkens the entire wallpaper on the home screen.
Normal/Light mode:
Dark mode:
There is a setting in the wallpaper settings that you can toggle on and off the wallpaper to follow the dark mode rule.
Not sure on the other issue

I searched the settings and didn't find this option.
Could you show me where it is?
My apologies. For some reason this appeared in the note 10 page...
