[Q] Need Help, cannot flash anything, internal storage wiped. - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Ok, so I was unlocked/rooted on current Lollipop firmware, TWRP, and running CM12 daily. I started having problems with TWRP freezing anytime I tried flashing or backing up. Would not allow me to restore. I formatted internal storage using TWRP and then tried installing new ROMS from external SD. TWRP would freeze for a second, then restart. I tried sidelong adb and it fails everytime. I tried RUU through SD card method and it takes 20+ minutes to load and then says it's a wrong image and makes me reboot. I can access SD, TWRP but it's limited on use since it keeps restarting when I try to flash, and I can get to fastboot/RUU, however my bootloader now says relocked. I would appreciate any help/suggestions.

Do you have another sdcard to try. It could be your sdcard is going bad. Are you s-off ?

You likely flashed some custom firmware that has your mainver wrong too. I can help you remotely using team viewer if you'd like.

Thank you very much for the offer! I found out last night what it was... A bad SD card. As son as I pulled it I was able to do everything normally. I even tried it on another M8 and got the same errors while that SD card was installed. Very odd, but thank you again for the offer!

RUU Stuck. Help?

A few days ago I was in the process of changing roms. I was using clean rom 4.5 beta. During the process I accidentally hit Factory Reset on the bootloader menu. I then proceeded to change roms but all of my sdcard data was erased and I cannot mount the sdcard at this time to put a new rom on there. I tried RUU (currently running 1.85, tried updating to 2.20) to no avail because I always get stuck at the sending screen for hours. I've emailed a few devs already who could'nt help, I also busted my ass searching forums and googling crap :crying: Any ideas ?
Do you have a recovery installed? Clockworkmod has been known to have some issues with the onex. I would recommend flashing TWRP in bootloader.
It may say in TWRP that you cannot select the sd for mounting. However if you check your PC, should still show up and may also ask for you to fomat the drive. Its ok to format fat32 since you've allready wiped. If your running linux or Mac. I'm affraid I'm no help at all.

I was able to format and put a rom on the sdcard :highfive: but its failing to install because I cannot mount the cache.
Sorry Just got home from work noticed your update. looks like your back east? Maybe too late for you. Any who, once you put your rom on the SD card then go to install, Under the TWRP file you should find the ROM.

Restoring From Blank Slate

Hey guys:
I recently wiped my tab clean because it kept bootlooping, but I accidentally wiped my ROM as well as my storage. So right now, my tab is stuck at the unlocked screen, and I'm not sure what could have caused the bootloop problem in the first place.
Rooted, unlocked, running CleanROM 2.7.2 with Data2SD and Clemsyn kernel. I kept fsync enabled precisely so that my system would be more stable, but it appears not to be the case. Right now, my priority is flashing any OS/ROM onto my tab so I can get it to start booting. Any help? I'm really hoping this isn't a brick scenario.

Can you still access recovery? From recovery I've able to reload the stock update files which extract and load a blob that completely rewrites my system.
If not, can you access fastboot? Load it into fastboot and then re-install a recovery, and then from there use that to either install the update or reload your rom.

I can still access recovery, but am not sure how to or which stock files I'm supposed to extract. I've been looking into fastboot right now, but don't have the SDK installed on my computer and frankly, I'm just not sure what to do with it.
Ideally, accessing the stock files and loading a blob would be the best solution, but I'm unsure how to proceed. Thanks for the advice, as I'm frantically trying to find a solution as the tab won't shut off and I'm afraid it's going to overheat.

I don't understand your issue, if you still can access your twrp, then just reflash your cleanrom 2.7? If you want to bypass data2sd for now, just flash clemsyn_data2sd kernel, you should able to boot up.

Like a fool, I wiped both internal and external storage. So I don't have the zips or backups I had on my sds. I've tried removing the sd and putting backups and zips I have on my computer, but TWRP doesn't recognize the device since I have no OS.

make sure you format your sdcard with fat32 using your pc, then copy the rom zip file on to it, make sure your device if OFF,put the sdcard back into your device, boot up into twrp, select mount and and put a check on everything, then try to install, it should see your zip file.

Also, my tablet kept bootlooping when trying to install the same setup (2.7 w/ data2SD) when using an SD card formated with minitool...using GParted worked like a charm the first time.

Thank you, good sir. Worked like a charm. Only problem is a boot loop that persists when I try to flash CleanROM 3.0.1, but I'll probably figure out what's wrong eventually.

Reverted back to Stock and flashed CleanROM 3.0.1 with Asus Stock boot animation this time. Yes, I was using the Nexus boot animation before, but Asus Stock isn't making a difference. Same boot loop. Reverting back to Stock until I can figure out what's wrong. I've been checking to make sure all my stuff is updated and nothing seems to be out of order...

I think if you flash cleanrom 2.7.2, then flash 3.01, it should work.

[Q] Soft brick help!

Hey, I use a GT-n8010 tablet, and I wanted to flash the HyperDrive ROM. So I went ahead, and did all the necessary things only to find that AROMA installer froze every single time, trust me when I say I tried over 10 times. So then I tried to mount my internal SD to try out another ROM, only to find that CWM doesn't mount my internal SD to my PC. Then, I tried copying it over to an external SD and then chucking it into my tablet, but CWM is not able to read my external SD card. I had wiped all my data and cache and dalvik cache. But then accidentally, I formatted my internal SD as well, so I don't have the ROM file on it.
Now, I tried to flash TWRP using download mode, but then it says USB debugging has not been enabled. I'm not able to go back to my stock ROM since I wiped all my data, I'm not able to flash back my nandroid since it's in my computer and I can't transfer it over to my tablet. I can't flash a new ROM since none of the SD cards are mountable.
Some help would greatly be appreciated! Please help out a noob here, I don't have any idea as to what I should do next.
Thank you so much
No one? Someone please help me out! I'm completely lost!

I did do that, but for some reason, it's stuck in the Samsung logo. And I tried resetting from stock recovery, but still got the same result.
I think you should flash stock with odin or flash a different recovery. I think it is called high on android.

TF 300T Partitions

Hey there!
I'm hoping that someone can help me out. My nephew who's a wanna-be geek was going to update my ROM (which didn't to be done really, but he wanted to show me what he was able to do). He went and downloaded the latest CM 11, rebooted and went into TWRP 2.7.0.1, did a factory reset, an advanced wipe, and did the Format Data. When he did that, it got stuck in a loop. Nothing happened. He tried to install the ROM he downloaded, and NOTHING! Long story short, by him doing the Format Data, he wiped out my partitions. TWRP, no matter what I try to do tells me it's unable to mount 'data' or 'media' etc. etc. Which is leading me to believe I have no partitions left. I've tried installing the latest update from Asus, and no dice. I've tried restoring backups that I have on my micro SD, and that's not working.
Can someone please help me and tell me how to fix this? Can I get my partitions back? I'm really hoping that I don't have to send this tablet off to Asus in Dallas, TX to have it repaired.
I'm using a loaner tablet from a rental store, hoping I can get my TF 300 fixed.
Any help is deeply and sincerely appreciated.

I was about to suggest you look in the correct forum, but I see you posted there as well. Anyway, your partitions are probably okay, they have just been wiped out, that doesn't mean you lost them. Have you tried reflashing the recovery? Were you able to flash anything with said recovery before that? Wiping the partitions in the recovery shouldn't have any effect on the flashing functionality, no matter which partitions were selected (except for sdcard, since that's where the ZIPs are stored), so there might be a problem with the recovery itself. Are you sure you have the correct one for your device?

Hey there Duchman ...
Thanks for your reply. I have tried reflashing the recovery like you suggested. And after that tried to reinstall CM11.Afterwards reflashing the recovery it says “Unable to mount data." I don't know if I need to flash a more recent version of TWRP, if that would even help.
Before all of this happened I could flash almost any ROM of my choice as long as it was KitKat supported. All of my backups and restores are kept on my micro SD so they aren't accidentally deleted. As far as I know it's the correct version of TWRP. It's worked for me so far, ever since I updated to KitKat.

You could try flashing a newer recovery first, I think 2.7.1.0 is available for your device. Also try doing a hard reset by cold booting - here's a how-to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTU38Ewh8qo (wipe the cache afterwards)
If that doesn't help, reverting to stock is probably your best option. Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757077 (be sure to grab the correct firmware and back up your files)
Have you tried installing any other custom ROM? Does it give you the same error when you try to restore your backup?
Here's what I've come across so far. I did the reset, and that did nothing.
Tried to flash the stock version, after a few seconds, TWRP popped up with FAILED.
I've tried flashing Omni ROM. It will flash, load up, and gets stuck at the boot screen or boot animation. This happens with just about every ROM I try to flash.
Been looking for TWRP 2.7.1.0. I'm not seeing it listed on TWRPs site. Where can I get a copy? Thanks!

Here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772093
Also do try flashing another recovery, PhilZ for instance: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2597860
Did you try wiping all of the partitions again?

No OS, old recovery, no USB. Help.

My tablet is just a wealth of problems. TF101, 16GB.
I'm running TWRP v2.6.3.0. USB connections don't work, I've tried with different cables and with different computers.
Android was idiotically wiped without any backups, and currently the only way I can use my tablet is in recovery.
I can transfer data with the micro-SD card slot, and that's what I've been doing to attempt to get Android running again.
I've tried KatKiss Lollipop, which was the original reason I wiped my tablet. I've tried flashing the older version of KatKiss KitKat I had on there (it is now deleted), I've tried flashing a newer (#36) version of KatKiss KitKat. Both KitKats are eternally stuck on the boot animation.
Please help. I'd really like to get my tablet working again.
Edit Flashing OmniROM worked. Will work from this.
I've got the same problem??

Have you tried other ROMs? I was able to flash OmniROM and use that to update TWRP, and install KatKiss from there.
the tablet can't read the sd card
Did you get this running? I've got a similar problem.
Running TWRP 2.8.1.1 and cannot get any computer I have to transfer via MTP any files and TWRP will not read ANY SD card I install.
I usually know what I'm doing but my TF101 and TWRP are not co-operating!!!
Never mind. I had to reformat an SD card I really didn't want to do as it has some files I would have like to keep. Just have to find them elsewhere again.
After formatting and installing the ROMs on it I was able to install Lollipop!
