Hello,
today i noticed that HTC offered the lollipop update for my E8. I use it in Germany, my software version was something like 1.06.
I downloaded the FW over wlan, the E8 told me that it verified the FW and then bootet.
I think it entered recovery modus then. After about 1/4 of the update process the picture changed and now i see red sign with exclamation mark inside.
The E8 does not react to anything any more I tried all combinations of buttons (pressed them short, long, alltogether, single), connected it to pc .... nothing.
Any idea what to do? E8 wasn't rooted, unlocked or something like that before.

When you see the Red triangle type sign with Exclamation mark inside,, you have to wait a few seconds and then press POWER and Volume up buttons together.....keep it pressed and then leave it,, it should go into stock recovery....
From what you've written it seems like you have tried all this,, but it doesnt harm to try again
Best of luck.

You're welcome.... and hit the thanks button
For upgrade to lollipop....
first you need to get all info about your phone from SETTINGS - ABOUT Software information....
Note it down ....
Also you may get it from using the commands fastboot getvar all if you know how to use fastboot...
then go to this link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-e8/help/htc-one-e8-mid-cid-ruu-ota-twrp-t2903210
Hopefully your query should be solved as to how to upgrade to lollipop...
And if you still need to ask anything feel free... Also, some others have got the German update and successfully upgraded...
Search them out here if required...
Cheers ...

I think you may be right, there is no TWRP or OTA for your model.. BUT IT IS BETTER TO CHECK ON THE LINK I GAVE
AND EVEN POST THERE .... THERE ARE MANY EXPERIENCED PEOPLE THERE LIKE @ian.anindya and @DutchDanny
etc... SOmeone will surely be able to help you more....
But to the above info which you must post there, ,, also add the model no WHICH IS PRINTED ON THE BACK OF YOUR PHONE AT THE VERY BOTTOM IN VERY FINE PRINT... It will be m8sw or something like that..
Best of luck... I think the community will be able to help...
EDIT : Since you can boot the phone, that means its working... But because its working you may be able to take a system backup of your own phone since it seems to be a different model.
They guys in the other thread will be able to help you more on this....
regards
Greg
Hi Greg,
i used the recovery service at [email protected]. The nice guy wanted to look first if he can help me. We are both not sure what he did - with his magic hands - but suddenly my stuck E8 did the update to lollipop.
His reaction was: weird, i haven't done anything except starting adb and looking.
So, in the end i am fine
Thx a lot for your helping hand !!!
Regards, Hoovercraft
btw, can i close this topic anyhow?

Problem?...
Your entire setup has nothing to do with Saga
This is a good reason for some people to stay S-ON or go through an exam before getting XTC Clip.
Good for you that you have superCID. Use a RUU for Desire S this time
P.S.: and remove the IMEI from your post
Sent from my HTC Desire S
+1 - I think that's a Desire Z listing (that's what the HTC Vision was marketed as for the international market).
Also - remove your IMEI number from the listing. Never, ever post that info unless you don't actually want to be able to keep on using your phone.
I have received phone in this state. I can't install official rom (error 130). Goldcard change nothing, still error 130.

So - what model of phone is it? If you're not sure then take the battery out and get the model information off there.

Well ... Your phone thinks it's a Desire Z - based on the bootloader info - so I would suggest that you put a different bootloader on there.
i have some problem too..
my htc stuck on recovery mode only
Unless you have flashed a ROM for the Desire S onto a Desire Z then you haven't got the same problem.
Don't just hop onto someone else's thread unless you have got exactly the same problem or can contribute.
Open a new thread with all the details that you should give and you are more likely to get help.
But ... make sure you search and read properly first as the answer to 99% of problems is already out there.

Hi I just wanted to try the Maximus HD 10 and thought I did what was expected but something went wrong and now the phone is totally blank.. I am new to this but read alot in this forum before I began and I am used to computers etc. so I gave it a shot.. This is what I did:
Installed the Windroid Universal Toolkit to unlock the phone, and that went well. Then followed the instructions to install the Maximus HD 10 which also went well until I had to install the newer firmware.. From here things went really bad and after a lot of different wipes and things that I don't know anything about I am stuck with an useless device
I have searched all forums (I think) but with no luck, so if anyone know what I should do I would be really thankful.
And no.. I do not have a backup!!

Fastboot can communicate with the phone but ADB devices will not find the phone.
If I reboot the phone I only see the HTC start screen for a few seconds and then nothing.. It has TWRP on it which I can enter.
Please help me!
If you have TWRP you might download any ROM and flash it but since you're S-On don't forget to flash kernel in fastboot mode after you flash the ROM.
Kernel is the boot.img file on the root of the ROM zip. Extract it to PC and while in fastboot issue the "fastboot flash boot boot.img" command.
For changing firmware you need S-Off which you don't have. To gain it you should flash first a close to stock ROM (like Viper for ex) then try to gain S-Off with rumrunner or another method. Then you can flash firmwares

Don't forget to do that after every ROM flash. If you'll get S-Off, you won't need to do that anymore

Hello guys
I had purchased a HTC E8 which was working absolutely fine but I found out that it was rooted before my purchase. I managed to install Xposed and everything worked fine.
However, I hadn't received an OTA update notification and even checking for updates in the phone gave back no results so I thought of manually updating (via fastboot) by flashing the 2.32.651.11 (Modified Firmware w/ Radio....removed boot & recovery) update found here
The process didn't report any errors and the phone rebooted from the process however I noticed that the version was exactly the same as before (1.22.651.1, KitKat).
That and I lost my sim signals and basically found out about the missing baseband after having it checked out in the market.
The repair person can't get it back to work though I have yet to ask what he has tried as of yet.
My phone's info is as follows (before the update):
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 3.19.0.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 1.08.20.0701

Strangely enough, the model on the back cover is actually M8Sb, which simply does not exist in the table here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-e8/help/htc-one-e8-mid-cid-ruu-ota-twrp-t2903210
My guess is that the previous rom installed was basically the "Stock Rooted ROM" provided in the link above.
Restoring the system via TWRP backup didn't fix the problem.
I don't have much experience fixing HTC software issues as much as I have with Nexuses on my own.
Searching through forums suggested that I should flash the radio files but I couldn't find those with the baseband version I had.
The next best option seems to be to flash RUU as I can tell but I am confused as to whether should I try flashing the KitKat RUUs or later.
Can I flash the single sim RUUs from other regions since it has super CID or will it hard brick the device?
Will flashing the RUUs fix the problem at all?
I am sure you guys have experience with the phone so I am desparately looking for any help I can get. It will be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou for reading.
I have similar problem here with the same model...
Any help would be appreciated
This happened to me as well. I have tried twrp backup and new firmware but no luck. In fastboot getvar all I can se both IMIE and basband but my feeling is that the rom can't access the data. Anyone have any ideas?
Hello dear XDA users,
today I am looking for some help to get my HTC One M8 working again.
Let me explain my situation:
So a year ago or so, I decided to root my phone to unlock it's full potential. I wasn't really experienced, since it was
the first time I did it, so I just follwed a tutorial and used this rootkit. It worked well and my phone was rooted. Since then, I didn't really pay
much attention to it and decided not to mess around with it anymore. Recently I wanted to update my phone, since I
didn't do that since I had rooted it, because it wouldn't let me. I think I may have been because I had TWRP instead of the default recovery. Well, I wanted to remove that and naive me decided just to press the factory reset. After that, some strange things started to happen. First of all, my phone wasn't rooted anymore, which to be honest, I kind of expected. When I plugged it into my computer and tried getvar all, it didn't show my version-main anymore and sometimes not even my CID. Also, my TWRP folder wasn't showing anymore. I tried to use TWRP to repair the all partitions and also tried formatting data, but to no avail.
I want to restore the phone to a state where bootloader is locked, it's not rooted, where it's S-ON and it's OS is up-to-date.
I've been searching for a way to fix my problem for 4 days now, but I havn't found any way.

If the bootloop is on every startup, the eMMC memory may be corrupted.
In this case there is a small chance that the RUU will help.
Anyway, I can see the ROM > here <.
If after logging in you will not be able to access the file, check the remaining links after searching in google.
I wish you luck.
