[Q] M8 Android TV Box USB Camera Help - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys, I have an M8 Android TV box and is working perfectly aside from a little bug/driver issue with my USB Logitech C710 camera. I want to use the camera for Skype/take pictures with regular camera app but the images come out with distorted colors. I tried using different USB ports but the problem persists. Is there any way I can fix the drivers manually so that the picture looks like normal? I tried the camera with my laptop and it works fine. I also installed every known camera app in the playstore and the only one that used the camera normal was Snapexwebcam. If anyone can help me and need more information to reach a solution please let me know.
Thank You for your time
Respectfully, XianLen
PS: My TV Box is rooted

Webcam Driver For Kaiser !?!

HI all,
I'm requesting if you anyone knows a free WEBCAM software where it can turn the KAISER into a webcam that can be used in Live messenger or skype etc......... I've searched on the internet but they aren't working on WM6, so i'm asking for help
Thanks!
J
I know that you stated you were looking for a 'free' solution and sadly I do not believe one exists. However, you can check out a non-freeware program called Webcamera Plus from Ateksoft. I'm sure it would work on the Kaiser.
It does work. I set up my Kaiser (Dutty's Touch ROM version 3.0) connected via USB to my OQO 02 (XP Pro Tablet) and used Skype. I only get about 4 frames per second. I don't know if it's the software or maybe the cable I'm using is USB 1.1. Both the front and back camera's work (finally, a use for the front camera in the USA!). My front camera seems to have a weird angle to get a full face shot. Sort of up and to the right. The resolution, as expected, is better on the back camera.
I guess I'll go through the struggle of setting up a bluetooth activesynch to see how that works...
any success would like to know how well it works before I buy it.
Gosh, with the bad video driver on the Kaiser, i would bet the results would suck big time............the reason i'm asking if the kaiser can do webcaming is because i'm on a 64-bit OS system and its hard to get webcams to work with correct drivers on my 64-bit windows xp....I'm hoping that if this works, then i can use it as webcam.....
I have Webcamera plus version 2 and it works great, I get 10-15 fps over wifi. no need of cables.
I am getting 1~2fps over the USB cable, any ideas why it could be so slow?, on the phone the pciture is far smoother, but on the PC is very slow

[Completed] [Q] Bluetimes MX5 TV box - HDMI Out Dead

I hope someone can point me in the right direction for this.
I have a Bluetimes MX5 android tv box for the past year or so. The HDMI has stopped working for the last few weeks.
Only the standard AV is working.
I've reflashed the image on it but still not working. I've tried different cables and TVs but all the same. The box is running a custom rom called Dharmageddon V3.
There was a glimmer of hope when I first connected after disabling auto detect hdmi settings, the picture came up for a few seconds and then went blank again.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
Hi,
It sounds like a hardware issue to me, either bad cable, or bad hdmi port on the box or TV.
You can ask for other opinions in this section though,

Good luck!

[Q] USB-OTG

Hello,
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Young N (gt-s6310n) with Android 4.1.2, rooted. I've installed an app to control my DSLR camera from my phone. The app runs normally, and both the Camera and the OS are supported (I don't know for the phone, but the app always start). I bought a OTG cable, recommended also by the app.
The problem is that when I launch the app, it doesn't recognize the camera, also if it's connected. The only problem that there might be is that the OTG is not abled on the phone. How can I able it?

OTG can be enabled via kernel editing, but the phone's hardware must also support OTG....and in the case of this phone I don't think it have a hardware OTG support.

Bluetooth issue (Nikon SnapBridge)

Hello all.
I use Nikon SnapBridge to control my Nikon DSLR.
It connects over Bluetooth from within the app.
It does not add a paired device in android itself.
The problem i have when pairing is after accepting the security keys on the Camera and the S7.
After that the name of the camera dissapears and connection fails from that point.
At first i thought it might be an issue with compatibility because its not one of the most stable apps out there.
But when trying it on my friends stock s7 it worked.
Is there any thing i can do to fix this or am i overseeing something?
mine started doing this after the nougat update, I suspect there is an issue with how nikon creates the connection in snapbridge that no longer works in nougat
yesterday I updated my Note 5 from 6.0.1 to 7.0 and can confirm that the snapbridge app is not longer connecting with the phone. after checking the pairing code on both devices the app stops with pairing failed while the cam D5600 still thinks everything is alright. hope there is an app fix soon.
greets
Timo
It does the same thing on my LG G6. The reviews for SnapBridge are dreadful. I have not been able to make it work at all with a couple of different android devices. And based on reviews online, the app is basically a failure.
Ok same here with galaxy s8. Still no solution?
Nikon snapbridge is fixed. Finally

Hey can you try doing what I did with my problem and see if it works? That is, disabling the Google App. Let me know if it did something.

Hey guys,
I know this thread was originally focusing on issues with snapbridge and Bluetooth, but I am wondering if anyone knows if Snapbridge doesn't support wifi on Android Nougat? Phone is Note 8.
I can't get my camera to connect over wifi at all. Every time I try to connect Nikon D5600 to wifi I get "this option is not available at current settings or in cameras current state." I tried updated camera to firmware 1.02 because it said it had some Android fixes but so far I still get that same error.
Thanks in advance.
I just bought a d850 and at first attempt to connect snapbridge, phone, and camera, it worked on my s7 however after 20 min it completely dropped the wifi not the Bluetooth. I pain stakenly tried to reconnect wifi but was unsuccessful. At this point it was time for an upgrade so I got the S9+ and the app did the same exact thing, no wifi, only Bluetooth. The odd thing is that it works on my Asus tablet and worked at first connection on the s7. I am left baffled and would like to enjoy full res and remote control with phone to my d850. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

USB Camera as default

Hello,
I have been searching for a long time but still can't find any solution of my problem.
The situation is:
I have raspberry pi3 and i have installed android on it.
Everything works fine, but i need to use camera with raspberry. I know that there is a special camera module available and maybe it works fine but i need to use an external USB camera.
I plugged USB camera and started default camera application, but it says that it's impossible to connect to camera.
But when i've installed USB camera app it works fine with external camera.
I use skype and when i'm trying to make videocall - video is not available.
That is why question appeared.
How is it possible to enforce android to use external USB camera as default?
Sorry for bad english.
Thanks in advance,
