Anyone try the Bodyguardz Pure with Express Align on the S6 yet? - Galaxy S6 Accessories

Just wondering as I would hear other opinions before I open the one I have.
If you got the Bodyguardz Pure on your S6 does it have the Halo or other problems?
How did the Express Align tray work?
Thanks.

On their website for the product one user has posted a negative review talking about haloing issues and bubbling up all over the phone even with the align tray. Have you had luck with your Zagg yet?

Just went and looked at that review.
Now, I'm really in no hurry to try the Bodyguardz.

Halo on either side of protector
I purchased the bodyguardz pure, and the left and right edges halo. I have no bubbling, and the alignment tray was fairly easy to use. The protector extends too far to the left and right where the s6 glass begins to taper down, causing the edges to lift. However, the overall shape and quality of the glass is great. I'm waiting for manufacturers to get the dimensions right so haloing is avoided. Until then, it'll work fine as long as you don't mind having the haloing for a month or two until a better product is made.

Can you post up a couple of pictures?
Does the halo extend into the actual display area?

These pictures were taken with the HTC one m7. Sorry about the quality. I hope these images give you a better idea about the product!

i got the poweradd tempered glass from amazon for 7.99$ no halo effect perfect fit and no bubbles came out great and is holding up great as well

I have the Bodyguardz Pure and have not opened it yet.

Halo effect is kinda strange looking. But the alignment tool looks to work great! I wonder if it would work with different companies screen protectors?

I would say no as the protector is stuck inside of the clear alignment tray. You would never get another protector aligned just right inside of the clear tray.
Maybe someone will try it and let's know.

Martin Fields Screen (+ Rear) Protector

Having used Martin Field Screen protectors in the past on all sorts of gear I jumped on them as soon as they became available for the N4. I now have both front and rear fitted and hears what I think.
As usual the material used is very good. Scratch resistant, smooth and doesn't seem to degrade the image at all.
Firstly, the rear protector. This comes with a cut-out for the flash but not the camera. I don't know whether this will really be a problem in practice as I haven't had time to take many photo's with it on yet.
Otherwise, the dimensional fit on the rear protector is great and you barely tell it is there.
Secondly, the front protector. As with other protectors I have tried (Terrapin), width wise this matches the active screen area so you can feel a slight ridge when you swipe on from the edge. Not really a problem in reality.
However the N4 screen, like the GNex before it has a slight roll off at the top and bottom which means that you cant really get edge to edge coverage with this sort of protector. What you have to live with is a slight unprotected border.
In this respect, the Martin Fields protector is a little too large top to bottom and when fitted doesn't sit flush with the screen for an approx 1mm along the top and bottom. You can't really see it face on but it will allow dust and fibres to work in if you keep it in your pocket.
I've emailed Martin Fields about it and they have requested some photo's so they can look into possible revising it. I've sent these to them now and I'll update when I get a further response.

As MF may do something about the fit yet. I don't want to post pics of the issue as it would be bad publicity for them. Let's see what the come back with first, I'm confident that they will sort it out.
A pic of the back of the phone wouldn't help either, you really can't tell it is there.
I LOVE Martin Fields! Glad that it finally came out for the N4, but I already jumped on the too good to pass up 50% deal for ZAGGs. Couldn't wait any longer to leave my device unprotected.
Please update whenever you hear back from them
and here's the link for anyone who wants to order: http://www.martinfields.com/US/MFOP-GoogleNexus4
I bought these as well, pretty pleased with them, it's true that height wise it doesn't quite reach to the bottom (1mm short), it's not noticeable if you have a case that covers it. Certainly it isn't as bad as Terrapin, those were like half a cm short. The back protector is pretty much perfect, the cutouts align perfectly, you also get a separate protector for the flash.
Should also mention this does not come with a proximity sensor cutout, however, it works absolutely fine. I asked them before buying it and they assured me it would work.
If you're in the UK you can get these from a few online shops for around ~£16 so pretty decent.
at this price.. it's basically tempered glass price. With that said, anyone experienced both and do a quick compare/contrast?
There aren't any tempered glass protectors out yet are there? Wouldn't say it's in the same price range as tempered glass, you have to remember you get front and back.
i was just talking about comparing in general with devices that already has these on before and tempered. Right now, there aren't any tempered glass available yet, pre-order only.. There will be more tempered glass and once it's widely available, it will be around $20 or cheaper.

IMO, I think they need to be a bit shorter height wise so the edges adhere to the screen and don't sit proud. I don't think any dry application protectors would ever give complete edge to edge fit, they would always lift at the extremes due to the curvature.
I too have used Martin Fields screen protectors in the past & thought they were fantastic! I'm not that impressed with the fit of this one though.
I've fitted the Skinomi, which is a 'wet apply' one. It completely covers the screen, & was real easy to apply. So far it feels fine to use too.

Hi Chris,
Just got my Nexus 4... finally...
Bought a wet screen protector that I will probably not apply.
Used Martin Field's before and I now I wonder if you received any news from them and how is everything going after using it for 6-7 weeks.
Any problems with the camera being covered?
Looking forward to your feedback.

[VIDEO] Spigen GLAS.t SLIM Screen Protector Install for Samsung Galaxy S4

Since this was my first install of a glass screen protector, I didn't know what to expect. I was glad to find out that the install process seemed easier than any InvisibleSHIELD I've done in the past. The results are great so far. No bubbles and the screen is beautiful.
I have tons of cases laying around so I'll add to this post and give a run down of how things go.
Verified OKAY
Spigen Slim Armor
Incipio DualPro SHINE (a little tight... place 1st layer on perfectly before slipping into outer layer)
Speck CandyShell
Trident Aegis Series (doesn't fit 100% perfectly on top edges... still okay)
Not Working
Seidio SURFACE (aka Platinum / PT Best Buy Case) - Will not close completely.

Just picked up the Spider GLAS. Trying screen protector which is thinner than the GLAS. t. Couldn't be happier with the case, plus it doesn't interfere with my incipio case. Perfect solution for anyone looking for a screen protector.
By the way....there was a back protector in there? Is that just a film to keep your back from getting scratched up if you don't use a case?

Does Air View work correctly at the lockscreen? I saw another video where the reviewer mentioned that Air View on the lock screen was a bit off (the shiny dot jumped from one spot to another) and did not follow the finger correctly.
Regarding putting the glass on over your aluminum home button....
It looked like that was slightly difficult, and it also looked like the glass didn't want to go down all the way at first. But maybe that was just the plastic part that got peeled off, because as soon as you peeled that off, the glass looked perfect. Can you elaborate on that?
Hmm, I'm using the Seidio Surface with the MIME Ghost Glass, which at 0.4/0.32mm (there's a discrepancy) is thicker than the Glas.t. The Seidio closes and fits on mine.
However, that's with the stock battery. With the Anker 2600 battery, which is a little thicker than the stock battery, it doesn't close.

It was actually the supplied jelly bean button. It only took some time because I used the alignment around the home button to determine where to drop the GLAS onto the surface pretty much. That and focusing on the sides more than the top. Also, I thought there was a huge bubble down there initially as well. It was the plastic protector though.

I looked at the product quickly and it appears to have a larger opening up top. Since this case really hugs the device, that becomes an issue for the Spigen GLAS.

Oops. Usually I give the video a quick one time over. Must have missed it.
Since I pay for 99% of the stuff seen, and it is my phone, I have to make a choice. Do I make a video and sacrifice a lousy install, or do I poke my head in the shot .
I think they might leave those areas open to ensure they function correctly. It does cover the front facing camera though. If you look at the protector the poster a few above was talking about.... It doesn't appear to cover much of the top at all.
As long as you're rocking something, it's better than nothing. I thousand knives can't damage Gorilla glass, but 1 penny sharing space in the same pocket sure can lol.
yeah I think I prefer the glas.t over the TR just because it's thinner can looks more like nothing's on than the TR with the beveled edges.
I may get it eventually maybe if they have a father's day sale lol, like the 20% off memorial day.
I'm still digging this product. I have some Chinese glass screen protectors, but I'm going to have to give them away for user submitted reviews.
I can't get myself to take the Spigen off the S4.

Not really. I use a case on it always though.
You can feel the edges of the glass if you're moving it around, but if you just place the phone directly up to your ear, you won't notice anything.

The phone hasn't been put through a lot of use to date, however as of this weekend my wife is giving up her iPhone 5 and using this regularly. We have a newborn baby and she will be carrying that thing in her purse and back pocket most of the time.
If there are issues, she should be able to get them to appear! I'll report back if anything happens.

Precision Cut Screen Protector?

Has anyone found and tried any screen protectors that are precision cut for the front and or back? I ordered a couple brands so far from Amazon, and I'm guessing they were earlier cuts before the phone was actually released, because the edges don't go all the way to the edges on both top and bottom. I'm hoping the protectors overtime are more precision cut and edge-to-edge.
Any recommendations?
The screen is rounded on all edges... they will bubble if they went all the way. .. you might not be able to tell with your eye... but it is.

I was thinking that same thing, until I took a look at Dbrand's skin. They have real images of their skin on the back and front of the S6 device. Precision cut, edge to edge. Yup, all the way to the edges. It's beautiful. But, this time around, I actually do like the black sapphire look, so would very much not like to cover it up with a skin.
Seeing Dbrand was able to do it with even a thicker skin, I'd like to assume that a thinner screen protector can do the same.
Take a look at the Dbrand site and the pictures they have up of the S6 with their skin on.
On the video when they pull off the front screen skin part that covers the lcd portion of the screen... there is nothing there... as in the screen is not protected... those are just edge to edge design vinyls... no thank you.

I should be more specific. I didn't link to the Dbrand site to show a skin that has no screen protection. That's quite obvious. What I'm talking about is a product that wraps over the edge, which you're saying is not possible. I'm saying, that if Dbrand can get the edge of their thick ass vinyls to curve slightly over the S6's edge, then a company that does make screen protectors should be able to get their thinner more malleable screen protectors to do so as well.
I don't care about the vinyls, I simply am referring to the product as an example of one company that is able to make it work. So I'm simply asking if anyone else has yet purchased a screen protector that covers edge to edge. Not stopping short like pre-manufactured screen protectors are thus far.

I used Zagg back when I had the Nexus 4, which had more significantly curved edges on its screen, but the Zagg formed perfectly with zero lift and zero bubbles. It was a wet install, so that may have helped. The S6's edges are not as curved as the Nexus 4 was, so I'm hopeful for some edge to edge protection. Quite possibly it was user error in your case (Best Buy)? Did you install it, or did they?

Nah i paid the $10 for bestbuy to do it cause i wanted it done ("Professionally") instead of me screwing up x20 times....and everytime he put it on I wasnt happy with it and neither was he... I actually let it sit a day and brought it back and said , forget it Im not happy with it...so I went to the source and got a $20 HD clear protector and its been great! but it doesn't go all the way to the top or bottom..but I am happy with it.
This one is perfect. Front and back have perfect cuts. There's a plastic and a glass one that you can choose from.

would be interested to see the results as well.
Unfortunately, they sent me the wrong color. I was asking for black instead of gold. I'm now trying to figure out if it's worth the hassle in exchanging.
My Coolreal tempered glass screen protector arrived today from Amazon. The quality looks really good, and it will definitely cover the entire screen. My only concern is that it appears the adhesive is only on the gold border and not the center of the screen. Haven't put it on my wife's S6 yet.

Just installed it and it looks interesting, I mean its different from other glass protectors I have used before on my phones. but this definitely covers the whole screen and bezel, there is a little haloing as you see in the pics but they are disappearing. There screen protector quality attracts a bit of smudging which is not common in high quality glass. Overall I think its a good option at the price.
I installed one on my wife's phone last night. Results were good, some slight haloing around the edges as well. Hopefully they will disappear.

Thanks for the photos and mine has some haloing too. Going to wait a few days and might try out the UTLK brand if the haloing does not go away.
I got that one from Amazon an like the others there was a little haloing but I had to remove it as my tech21 case was pushing the protector off every time I press a side button... now I'm using those smaller protectors but I think I will end up with a plastic one... (I like my case ok?! heheheh)

Bodyguardz Crown review

Sorry for taking so long on this. It took a while to get the screen protector. the first one sent to me had issues. the adhesive holding the glass to the alignment tray was to weak and as i pealed off the backing to apply it the glass feel out of the alignment tray on to some carpet =(
So, first, the glass its self and the alignment tray. as most already know, bodyguardz are extremely easy to apply. the hardest part of putting on the protector is just making sure the phone is dust free. then simply following the directions laid out pretty easily for you. but thats not what we care about. everyone knows they make good screen protectors. what about the crown?!
well ok, to be blunt. It looks very strange. why they went with the aluminum color only is beyond me. In the photos provided its actually hard to tell because its a white S6. but in real live, its plan as day that the phone looks off. Its slightly thinner then the glass which is nice and keeps the transition when dragging your finger across it fairly smooth. the adhesive on it seems to be holding ok. even though when putting on a phone case it got under the edge of the crown in a corner. its very thin on the edges though (0.1 mm) so it should be some what case friendly. my advice would be dont try any hard shell cases with this. needs to be somewhat flexible to kind of pull the case over the top of it as you put it on.
Over all its a very nice product. very small haloing around the sides but its barley noticeable. If only it was white! then it would be perfect. Im trying to get used to the aluminum but its just strange looking lol. the good thing is when they do release a white one, you only need the crown and not the full package. so thats a plus. if priced appropriately.
Of whats on the market today. This is the best solution to our full screen protection. But i would defiantly wait for a colored version!
Great review. Any chance you could post some more close-up shots of the crown and the transition between it and the glass? Also, maybe how it looks with your case on?
not digging the look of that protector , i dunno is it the color of it?
Is it the shape (i.e. fitment?)
I dunno.
Is this the only glass you've tried?
Have you tried iCarez?
