Hello,
I have got Xperia Z3 oryginally branded from t-mobile with KitKat 4.4.4.
After upgrading by OTA to Lollipop 5.0.2 (brand t-mobile) my system partition is only 135 Mb free.
In Total system partition is about 2,5 Gb.
Nothing was modyfied, no rooted etc. Others free space partition - cache - 97% free, userdata - 7,5 Gb free.
What is Your free system space on your Xperia Z3?
Is it normal low space on System partition ???
Thanks for reply.

Free space in /system gains you nothing. My guess is T-Mobile threw in whatever bloat they could in order to use what was there.

Hello guys.
Just wanting to know if it is possible to change the default partition sizes on the sensation?
I did this on my Desire.
I noticed that there is currently a lot of un-used space on the system and cache partition and it would be great to re-allocate this to the data partition to give more space.
Can this be done somehow?

The only reason there are that many custom partitions for Desire is that it is lacking app space.
With Sensation, you have no such problem, so it's kinda pointless repartitioning it.
Maybe in 2011, it is pointless.
Now in 2015 it is a must.
I give my old htc sensation to my father. In original 4.0.4 or 4.1.2 and in year 2011 1gb data is enough but in year 2015 apk files are so big now.
I install andoid 4.4.4 aosp so my system is 600mb free in 1gb now. without any program installed data is 1gb free in 1.1gb.
I repart mtk based phones as
before:
1gb system
1gb data
1.5gb storage
after
0.8gb system
2,6gb data
no storage as all storage is micro sd card installed.
1gb data is only for 20 apps installed and 1 week internet surf.
2.6gb data is for 80apk and 1 month of internet surf.
htc sensation has abour 3.2gb real nand
0.78gb system
1.1gb data
1.1gb, boot, recovery, kernel, lib, dev, cache, mnt, vendor drivers etc.
there must be a way to do it like:
0.5gb system
2gb data
0.6gb others.

There's one particular problem with that.
I was thinking the exact same thing as the O/P.
Reduce the cache partition and expand the O/S partition.
Hi, as anyone knows the moto g hasn't a slot for micro sd card.
I have a 16 gb version of G and it's about 12,92 gb available. Let's say it's 13 gb.
I cleaned some apps** from /system/app and system/priv-app.
**useless apps for me (Motocare etc), old apps that has a new .apk in /data (youtube, fmplayer etc).
And now I got 411 mb of free space in /system section. (And I think I can increase a little free space in /system if I'll deodex apps)
And I got 639 mb of free space in /cache section.
My question is can we take this free space and give it into /data? What for we need so huge /cache section?
For example can I keep ~20 mb in /system and ~50 mb in /cache and take the rest 980 mb and give it to /data? And it'll be about 14 gb of available storage.
I never did that. I know that it's not easy to do and while I'll be doing this I can lose all data. But anyway I will appreciated to everybody who will help me with this. May be you did the same on a previous phone, may be there is some guide or somebody already have done this on moto G.
EDIT: and what is /dev section and why it's so big and not using ?
XDA Thread - MTD Custom Partition Sizes
The /dev directory is required by Android I believe. Feel free to remove it and report back what happens.

I doubt that this .zip files are compatible with the moto. I'm actually waiting for some adb commands that allows me to create a new partition sizes
EDIT: and I don't know why sizes are different from this screen and the screen in the 1st post
12.9 vs 13.9 gb uiserdata
I have recently upgraded my Unite 2 (4GB) model into Lolipop from service center. But after that my storage became 1.43 GB only. Cannot install some useful apps. Please help. My phone storage is a real concern. Anyhow I want as much as possible storage. :crying: :crying:
Have you tried to clear your cache? If no, download App Cache Cleaner from Google play.
The lollipop update need more space in system than KitKat, so in order to give the /system partition more space other spaces from other partition were deducted and added to /system as far as I know
I have rooted my moto g but I noticed that it's missing approx 4 GB of memory. Total space 12.92 GB but Apps 2.46 GB + Available 6.42 GB = 8.88 GB, Available should be 10 GB so it's missing approx 4 GB.
Please help. I have tried clearing cache partition and dalvik cache partition nothing worked, even I found no backup under backup n store in cwm recovery.
Dear xda community,
I have noticed a strange behavior of my galaxy S6 32GB. I upgraded through smart switch my S6 from lollipop to marshmallow. That moment I had free around 4GB of storage with all my apps games and files coming from lollipop. I checked all the files and installed apps and the overall occupied space was for example than 20GB (the sum of my free space plus the calculated sum of my apps, games and files). So I said lets go with a hard reset. After I reinstalled everything that I had before hard reset (apps, games and files) I managed to have around 12GB free space. A few days ago Samsung announced through OTA an update for marshmallow which I installed. After the update the free space became again 4GB. I tried to do a wipe cache partition through the stock recovery but it didn't help.
Has anybody noticed the same issue ? How can I delete without root and increase my storage at 10GB before the OTA update ?
My phone is not rooted and is provided by Vodafone Greece.
