I went from 4.2.1 back to a TW rom, and was able to repair the filesystem by copying everything in the 0 folder and merging it with the SDCard0.
However, now I want to go back to 4.2.1 and flash the latest AOKP build. When I did it, it did not recognize anything that was on my internal sd card. In fact, it only thought that I had 12gb of storage on my internal sdcard instead of 16gb. Why is this happeneing? I restored my TW rom and saw that AOKP had created the new 0 folder with nothing in it (which I know is normal), but why doesn't the 4.2.1 rom recognize anything I have on my device's internal storage? Why didn't it transfer everything to this new 0 folder like it did last time?
Do I need to rename the Sdcard before flashing back to 4.2.1?
Any help would be great. I've searched around and was unable to find a solution that solved this, however I could just be confused.
I installed EOS 3 from a Cyanogen nightly. Now the internal storage is empty and I lost all my pictures. The system storage shows 15gb free but only 500mb used? Storage analyzer shows I have 29gb free and no root browser or gallery app can locate anything.
Now if I go into recovery I can see backups, zips and all my folders. Is there away to browse recovery to find the pictures and move them to external SD?
This isn't the first time this happened. Last time it created another root directory 0/ so my files where inside it. Actually it seems on most ROMs I install it adds another 0/. I have multiple 0/,0/,0/.....then USBstorage then a movie. I can't delete any of them or the movie (0kb in size) I've tried apps and connected to my PC.
First post! Long time lurker. Hello everybody!
First off, update your recovery, that will stop the continuous /0 ( this is cause by each time u flash a 4.2 based rom with an older recovery.
Second
If you use TWRP recovery (link located in my sig) boot into twrp and use the file manager and navigate to /data/media/... and look in the /0/0/0/ depending on how many are there and see if you are able to located your data.
Like you already acknowledged eah time you flash a 4.2 based rom all of your data located at /data/media/ (aka internal storage) is moved to another folder placed on /0 so unless you wiped it on accident it should be deeply buried in one of the /0s once u located your files u can moved them back to the first /0 at /data/media if you plan on staying on a 4.2 based rom. If not then moved the files back to /data/media.
[Q] CWM Backup failed -> internal storage full - can't find&delete the corrupt files
Hey guys,
I have a big problem with my Tablet after a CWM Recovery failed: The internal storage is completely full and I am not able to find and delete the uncomplete backup-files.
That happens after t I tried to backup to the internal storage of my device. After a while the backup process failed (I think because of insufficent storage on the internal SD card for the backup file). Afterwards I used "backup-to-external-SD" and it works fine.
The problem is now, that after I started the tablet again it says "inssuficent storage on internal SD card" and I cant even install an 155kb app any more. => CWM didn't delete the files after the first backup process failed.
Usually I would be able to use my file explorer, choose the internal sd, look for the backup folder with the uncompleted files and delete it. But it doesn't work! The folders of my internal SD card don't contain the massive damaged files.
But when I go into Recovery and click on "Flash files from SD" I see the following folders:
- /0 -> contain all the sd card files
- /clockwordmod -> contains /backup/ with the damaged CWM files I want to delete but can't find with a file manager
- /legacy
- /obb
Click to collapse
Does anyone know how I could be able to access the folder I can see in the Recovery so that I can delete the clockwordmod/backup/ folder?
I would really appreciate your help :highfive:
EDIT: I had a similar problem once and was able to solve it by formatting everything via CWM-Recovery, but I can't do it this time again because of a lot of important files and data.
EDIT2: I use CWM Recovery v6.0.2.7

You can find the file under data/media/0/clockworkmod/backup
You will need root access.

Thanks for your help!!
The backup folder you mentioned is empty, but I found the files here:
/data/media/clockwordmod/backup
So the filesystem the Recovery shows me is in /data/media.
Edit: Without root access I only saw an empty folder (info for people with the same problem)

Sorry my mistake you are right ...
I was using the resurrection remix rom, and needed to do an update, so I did what it said and downloaded the files I needed, saved them to my micro SD card in a folder I created and named "root". I did the wipe and erased everything following the instructions on that page, and now I'm trying to install the files so I can flash them and that root folder is not showing up! Nothing is showing up in my sd directory. I have two directories; one says sdcard, and the other is named external_SD. Inside the external_SD folder is a LOST.DIR file that's completely empty. Inside the sdcard folder is a TWRP file which is also empty and I'm freaking out now because I don't know how to get to my SD card. Everything is saved to my sd card and I have no access to the files I need and my phone is wiped now and doesn't have a rom installed and I have no idea or way to get a rom installed now. I don't know what to do and I'm panicking. If anyone knows what to do in this situation I will be eternally grateful.
I was able to get into download mode and use Odin to install factory firmware. This issue has been fixed.
hello all. i am facing a problem. i backed up all the partitions from twrp. then copied them all to my pc. after that, when i try to copy back those files from my pc to phone's internal , all the files are copying except this 'super.emmc.win' file. so i can not restore back the previous rom i backed up . this is so painful. is there any workaround for this problem? thanks in advance
I have the same issue so my back up is not restoring
This is because the size is >4GB. Try copying the file when the OS is fully loaded and USB connected in file transfer mode and it wil work
you can push it through adb
Code:
adb push D:\backups\104917aa0408\2022-04-16--11-11-52_RP1A200720011\super.emmc.win /sdcard
D:\backups\104917aa0408\2022-04-16--11-11-52_RP1A200720011...n: 1 file pushed. 17.1 MB/s (7516192768 bytes in 418.578s)
I pushed it to /sdcard, cause it was easier to type; then I moved it through recovery
