Hi,
I'm using unrooted samsung galaxy core model GT-I8262 running android OS 4.1 .I stopped receiving twitter 's notification from them whom I followed from last two days. I have cleared app data &, cache of twitter app &, reboot my device to isolate my issue but of no use. Is there any thing else that I can to so that I could receive notification .
And last I forgot I have updated my twitter app from play store to latest version .
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks

Try to open settings on twitter's notification
1. Mark all about notification
2.turn off twitter's notification
3. Back
4. turn on twitter's notification
5. Back to Home and close twitter
6. Open twitter and look at twitter's notification settings, if it still on you're success..
Sorry for bad english.

Worked for me on GB working for me with original oneclick ics rom. Not sure what your issue or what rom you are running. maybe one that deleted the sns .apks needed for this?
I keep getting "2 New Messages" for the past like 3 days and when I click on the notification there aren't any, then like 10 mins later the notification comes back again lol
They've never worked since I got the phone
Back I'm my htc inspire days we found out if you log into your facebook account on a blackberry and enable push notifications, then fire your android device back up. It worked well for a lot of poeple

i hope no need to push fb notofication.. but not really
sorry bad english
I haven't used fb lately. But I did get an event invite notification last night. I find sometimes they don't work onedy yet will work the next. I think it may be issues on their end. Try clearing the apps data and login again if not give it a few days and see if they come back.
I dis do the blackberry trick mentioned above on my account though.
To get Facebook push notifications to work you need to set your refresh interval to "Never" and if that doesn't work, leave it at never and do the blackberry trick.
-Wipe Data/Cache of Facebook on your phone and stay signed-out
-Download the Blackberry emulator from your phone
-Log in to Facebook on the emulator and allow the permissions for the Blackberry Emulator
-Check your account from the PC and make sure somewhere under one of your apps it says it's using a Facebook for Blackberry
-Close it all and log back in using your Android Facebook and push notifications should work.
They're hit or miss, they work like 90% of the time it seems.
where can i find this spoken of blackberry emulator on my phone?
It's worked for me on wifi but not on regular data, very sketchy on the regular data connection.

I just fixed my facebook notifications.
I only got notifications about events but never about posts.
I first cleared cache. That didn't work. I then logged out of the facebook app and relogged and viola it all notifcations work again.
The notification interval is irrelevant btw. I tried never, 30 min, 1 hr. It doesn't matter.
This worked for me so I hope this works for you.
Thank me if it works please xD
Facebook notification has never worked for me. My wife has the Note and it worked for her for the first week then suddenly it stopped. On GB it didn't work and same for ICS no matter which rom you get it will not work. Someone on here mentioned the Blackberry Emulator trick, that is about the only way the notifications will come to your phone. A friend of mine did it in the past and it has worked for him ever since. I will be trying it as soon as I can find the Emulator from my phone which I can't seem to figure out how to download it.

Can you give us a link from where we can download this BlackBerry Emulator?
Thanks
Somewhere on the FB website under security is a section showing authorized or attached devices. Each rom flashed adds another device to the list. Clear out that list entirely, uninstall FB from phone, reboot phone re download FB from market and install. Reboot BEFORE setting up FB login. Once rebooted log into FB again on phone and change the default notificagon sound to your choice and notifications should work again for posts, replies rcomments, etc.

My push notifications are working fine (Superlite 5.0) but Facebook sync is going bonkers though. It won't sync with existing contacts only, so it's either all Facebook contacts or none at all. A bit annoying.

I chose Torch 9850 and OS 7.1.
has anyone been able to fix the problem with the facebook extension?
it won't stay logged in somehow
already removed facebook, facebook extension, removed permissions on facebook, reinstalled the apps and gave permissions, but the problem remains, it will get the latest notifications then log out and won't stay logged in
resetting my phone to factory is not an option (and is absurd it would be even necessary)
Yep, same problem here, waiting for problem fix, from sony

today's update seemed to have fixed it for me
Hi,
Recently I got some issues with Hangout not waking up or making sound when receiving new SMS.
After some research it seems to be related to playstore issue.
The story:
Got a brand new stock Nexus 5, rooted it, installed bunch of app and then no more notification for SMS in hangout.
Did a wipe, did not install anything, Hangout was working fine.
Installed patched playstore, Hangout and some Google Now functions stopped working (like automatic location update, notifications, etc...)
The fix:
If you installed a modded playstore, revert back to stock or wipe to fix it.
This is particularly true with LuckyPatcher cracked playstore that broke links between Playstore and other google apps.
If you dont want to wipe or keep your modded playstore, use GoSMS pro for notifications.
Note:
There is an issue with official Playstore that drain battery because of kernel partial wakelock for nlplocator. Using modded playstore broke the automatic nlplocator and this way fixes the batery drain, but you lose functionnality especially about location informations (google now will only update your location on user interaction).
Hope it can help talented person that wants to investigate this issue.
Regards,
A quick guide for those who want to use Facebook messages without downloading facebook messenger.
Step 1
Uninstall Facebook messenger (if you have it installed)
Step 2
Make sure you have Unknown sources enabled from device settings
Step 3
Install the attached apk (hello world application) or create a new (empty) android project with the package name com.facebook.orca
As long as the only validation that the facebook app does is checking to find if an app with package name com.facebook.orca is installed on the phone this should work
Tested and working on N4 running omnirom 4.4.4
If that work, I thank you xd
Tapnięte z mojego S Advance ☺
It worked thanks

worked. Thank you, I got annoyed when the fb app says move to messenger,
Thank you for this guide...
I made my own small app
thank you. finally i found useful solution
+1.
Very nice.
Thank you so much! It worked perfectly.
I went one step further: I froze your app once installed, and Facebook still thinks Messenger is installed. It has survived a reboot.
My tutorial:
(0. Uninstall Facebook Messenger...)
1. Go to Play Store and disable Auto-Update for Facebook.
2. Go to Apps - Facebook and Clear Data. Then Force Close the application.
3. Start Facebook, login and go to messages, click "Remind Later"
Tadaa - you can now use the chat in the native Facebook application without installing any apks.
God i hate this "force to install" policy.. Thanks for the tut
thank you
Great!
Just what I was looking for! Such BS facebook makes you download an additional app to use messenger than I hardly ever use anyway. I refuse to use it, thanks op! Hopefully fb does not update the validation process.
THIS WORKS! good job ?
So glad that I find people who use the same method as me. However, I think Facebook stops the push notification service on purpose. I keep uninstalling and installing the facebook original app and hello world apk, and I would get push notifications for the first few hours or more. But then after this duration of time, I will not receive push notifications anymore out of no reason. Do you guys encounter the same problem as mine? Thank you.

I'm not sure if this is available in the app from the play store (most probably it will be roll out in the next update if it wasn't already updated) because i don't have whatsapp installed on my phone but i think if you download the apk from the official whatapps website you can disable it from the settings menu
Settings > Account > Privacy
Uncheck Read receipts
Worked great, thanks for this.
I too am lacking in push notifications about messages.
This would be absolutely perfect if I got notified about messages!

Hi guys
I saw that this post was seen more than a hundred times but no one has interacted
I ask all those who are facing the same issue to post it, maybe Sony will react with an update to correct
Thanks
Flash new firmware in flashtool, and select to wipe everything except ssd(internal storage) and you are golden.
Installing Facebook and Messenger automatically adds Facebook App Installer and Facebook App Manager to your installed apps in settings. Interfering these apps might break their updates!
App that works for both Facebook and Messenger for Xperia
Hi Guys,
I've had the same problem recently with my Sony Z5 after it done the Nougat update (took until recently as didn't want to update it and disabled auto update). Its now July and apps still come up with 505 error messages, but I did find another App that works for both Facebook and the messenger within that Facebook. Its called "Lite for Facebook - Security Lock" (Not to be confused with Facebook Lite which wont work either) and is available on the Google App Store. Down side is it comes up with the odd small advert as you go between screens, but the upside is from there you can access the Facebook and messages within it and is more like the more user friendly Facebook and Messenger from a couple of years ago. Personally I prefer it to the normal Facebook app as doesn't keep telling me to "tell everyone about my day" and it is a far better option than doing a system reboot. I don't get new notification signals on my homescreen, only if I go in the app but that may be because I turn most of mine off anyway. Anyway its free to download and if you want access to both in one app it works and doesn't look like sony intend to fix it soon. Try and decide for yourselves, I have access again to people that use messenger and that's all I wanted (Myself I prefer whatsapp).

I found the solution. Just search for Facebook app manager on apkmirror by Samsung electronics and install the latest version. Now it will work.
Had the same problem for a while.
I resolved it by deleting all facebook related folders in :
Data/app
Data/data
system/app
system/priv-app
And then I could re-install Facebook and messenger
