Hi guys, my google account is not automatically syncing even though I have it checked to do so. Will sync if I do it manually, but I need to receive my emails on the fly.
I checked my hosts file under system/etc and it is missing, could it have anything to do with it? If you can pls upload your hosts file from there so I can check if it solves my problem.
This started to happen after clean installing cm12s.
No longer need the hosts file, it has been sent to me already. Although it didn't fix the problem, from what I've been able to figure out google account will only sync automaticaly when I switch connections either between Wifi or 3G/LTE.
Anyone else is having this problem? Or knows a possible fix for it?

Hi everyone, I hope this question hasn't been asked before (I couldn't find anything, but I'd be surprised if I were the only person with this problem).
I just got a Nexus S (not rooted or anything yet) and a friend wanted to check his email on it, but the Gmail website doesn't seem to work unless I'm on wifi (It finishes loading very quickly and all I get is a blank white page - no error message or anything). I tried going to the site directly (wwwDOTgmailDOTcom, gmailDOTcom - same problem) and accessing it through a google search (gmail, gmail login, gmail mobile, etc.), but no dice. It works fine on wifi. Is there a way to get it to work, or has anyone else had this problem? I have Java, flash, and plugins all enabled in my settings, and everything else seems to be working great both on 3G and wifi.
If that doesnt work, does anyone know if it requires a lot of data to temporarily sync someone's account to my email app and then remove the email account when they're done? I had to do that to get my friend's account to work, but I wouldn't want to do it all the time if that's what I need to do for a friend to check their email on my phone.
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps out. I know it seems like a dumb question, but I'm new to Android and couldn't find anything in any of the settings menus. I assume it's because Google wants you to set up accounts for syncing, but in this case it's just for people who want to log in quickly and check their email.
(sort of a bump)
Since nobody seems to know what my problem is, could someone please check if they have any difficulties logging into gmail's website on 3G (NOT wifi) and let me know if it works? I haven't rooted or anything, so it would still help me know if it's a phone problem or something with my settings. Thanks.
i have same problem
No gmail and no downloads from google market app on 3G. All work fine through WIFI. (Droid 2 from Verizon, now using on other network).
My sms wont sync with fb images so after doing some research ive found that u need to sync with the sns fb account, only problem is that when i try to sign in it says there is a login error and to try again later. ive tried a bunch of times and it wont work, i cant sign into the sns twitter account either. anyone else have this problem? know how to solve it?
Maybe you can find something here.
i figured out the problem. I am usually on wifi and SNS like other apps/widgets only work when using data. dont know why this is, but i was on data and it connected immediately.
Hey,
I recently changed my password of my facebook account and now my phone prompted I should re-enter my passsword.
So I reenter it but it keeps saying it's wrong. I also tried deleting it, and readding it manualy and on my PC through Windows Live but it's a no-go.
Sometimes it also says "Something went wrong".
Is anyone else experiencing issues, or is there something I can do about it?
Remove it both from the phone (built-in feature) and from your Windows Live account (may need to use the website for this). Reboot the phone, and make sure the Facebook integration really is gone (no FB chat, for example). Then, re-enable them in the usual way (add the Facebook account, try to enabled FB chat, accept the connection to your WLID, etc.)
I *think* this will work.
I did this a few times and did not solve my problem
So my HTC Flyer died. I would like to try to fix it however I got synchronized gmail in it and that means anyone who will fix it will be able to read my e-mails. I can not turn off synchronization from flyer since it is dead.
Can I remotely remove it via google services?
If I do that can somone still access my previously synchronized e-mails when he fix the device?
EDIT: I know I can change gmail password but will they still be able to access previously synchronized emails?
Hello r'everybody
So today, my phone randomly deleted all the wifi passwords. I know google backed them up but i dont know how to restore them. Can anyone help me please?
Thanks
Delete and then re-add your Google account and make sure you check restore my data (or whatever it's called) when you are setting it up. There could be another way but I don't know what it might be.

Click to collapse
Go to Settings>accounts>Google>(tap on your google account)>tap sync now
it will sync all of your saved data on google.
Hope it helps
