Hello r'everybody
So today, my phone randomly deleted all the wifi passwords. I know google backed them up but i dont know how to restore them. Can anyone help me please?
Thanks
Delete and then re-add your Google account and make sure you check restore my data (or whatever it's called) when you are setting it up. There could be another way but I don't know what it might be.

Go to Settings>accounts>Google>(tap on your google account)>tap sync now
it will sync all of your saved data on google.
Hope it helps
But wifi passwords are not synced with google account...

I have the tmobile contact backup turned off & set to not sync. Every time I look at my phone though it is shown in the notification bar as "Checking Status". Does this happen to anyone else? I don't want this damn program running at all!
Mine doesn't seem to be running. i went into manage apps, cleared the data and turned off sync. I still check it every now and again to make sure it's not syncing behind my back. I don't trust it because for the first few days it seemed undeterred when I'd tried to stop it.
I'll try that

Also I would advise you to delete your tmobile contacts form your phone, and just store and sue the google contacts, so that you can be sure if the Tmobile contacts syn has reenabled itself after you disabled it.
I can't wait for Root so we can get rid of this stuff!

I don't want to sync my contacts with google simple because it'll add any email address that you email. I use Outlook to handle them. I did clear the contact backup data & haven't seen anything happen since then
For some reason when I got the phone it added all my contacts about 5 times each... I had to delete everything from the phone itself, then resync with tmobile back up because of all the crazy linking of phone numbers. I don't even store contacts on my phone anymore I purely use the tmobile backup list and facebook contacts.
Hi,
I've upgraded my Nexus S to ICS 4.0.3, and my market started to tell that an account is needed, I was always using this account.
I've upgraded my Nexus while in roaming, and there it worked just fine, now I'm back in portugal and the account stoped working.
The timezone if I don't set it to te carrier or choose it has also the default value of the roaming city.
How can I solve this problem, without reSetting the phone?
Do I have to remove the google account and set it up Again, i might have some new contacts not synched that i don want to loose.
I've used market while in roaming over a wi-fi network and it worked just fine.
Please help.
Thanx.
Try deleting your account from your phone (settings, accounts&sync, choose the account press menu, delete account), and then readding it again.

Try to go into Application Options and clear the cache of the Market Application, than terminate it.
After that,restart the market.
Well just try to remove the google account, reboot and add it again.
Are you asking if removing the google account removes your contacts, or just that you have new contacts on the phone and worry about them not being able to sync?
If the former, removing your google account does not have any effect on your contacts. If the latter after re-adding your account google contacts should resume syncing, providing it works.
If you are worried about your contacts just export them to a file and save it to your computer.

I agree. If the wifi symbol is not blue that means you are not logged into your main google account. Try logging into gmail from the website to confirm its working. Then check your account settings under accounts in the settings menu on the tab.

Hey guys, I have this problem and it is really annoying me and it is very serious.
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105 (android version 4.2.2) and only a few hours ago, my Google Account showed "Can't Sync" and "Sync will be back shortly" type of messages. As a result, I couldn't sync contacts, access Google+ and couldn't open Google Play even if there was Wi-Fi.
Also note that every other account like Dropbox, Evernote, Whatsapp and Viber etc work and I am even able to browse the web on the Chrome app. Also the internet connection in my home is working okay.
I searched for solutions and some people said to remove and add my Google account again. I removed my account and after that I couldn't add it again.
Any help please. thanks a lot.

do a factory reset of your phone first
then try logging in
if not, flash another firmware would 100% fix the problem

from the first moment when you root your phone
you should be aware that you would definitely lose all your things on your phone one day.
try clearing data and force stop google service framework and things related to accounts
I factory reset my oppo find 7, and lost my backup that I had set up, is there anyway I can get my contacts back? I don't care about the photos and other stuff. Just need the contacts.

If you use the normal 'Phone' app to manage calls and contacts, then Google would have synced the contacts.
Just setup the previous Gmail account (Settings->Accounts) which you had used and you will get it back
I just tried that and nothing worked. I don't know why but I thought I had, had Google sync everything. Also I saw if I root this device and try out android data recovery software it might work. Do you think it will?

No I don't think it'll work. You'll get only some of the contacts back.
Because there's high possibility that the memory blocks used for that contacts db and files would have been overwritten by some current data.
Anyway, you can try. I'd recommend something like this: http://www.androidphonesoft.com/resources/recover-lost-contacts-from-android-phone.html
Yup I was talking about this lol
