Any chance we could use this app to capture/stream spotify/pandora to a dlna receiver?

Hello @levuphuong,
I tried your app. It works with my samsung smart TV after setting the device (OnePlus X) as server from settings. After some minutes it showed content in "home" and played it on the TV, although pause and transport didn't work (they showed an "unsupported" notification on the TV).
I was taking a look around for some DLNA implementation on Android, as I wanted to include a "transmit via DLNA" feature in my app; something similar to the Samsung app "smart view" or the "cast" option for media file in my OPX; simply click on the file and share it to the TV.
Black screen and no detecting of media
Appearently at startup the app is searching the lan for dlna servers. During that time there is just nothing like a black screen, and it blocks any other operation on my device. So it looks like the app crashed. It would be better to have a screen with a moving bar which informs about the state of the app. When it comes back after a long time, it discovered a dlna server on another computer in my network. But it does not show media, so nothing to play. There are even no directories for vidro, audio, and pics.
So at the moment not usable. My device is a JiaYu S3 3GB

i think that problem happens when you enable your phone as dlna server and return home (it needs time to start server in phone). May be I need to improve it.
And some server show nothing because you didn't add media to that server. Recommend to use Tverisy for PC. it is free and really good.
Thanks
OK, thanks for your answer!

Just found it in the market and was gonna make a post about it here. After fooling around with the app on my phone, I have to say it's pretty impressive for a first release. This is the first music app that I've seen that has basic UI elements well implemented. Definitely replacing Doubletwist on my phone.
Just connected my winamp through wifi. currently transfering new music to my phone over wifi. Works just like when you normally hook up devices with usb. About 10-15 secs per song to transfer.
Wow, that's impressive. Getting now

Love it, replacing MixZing... but I cant manage to set the lock screen widget be the only lock screen...
I can't seem to figure out where to go in Winamp to sync via Wifi. I've checked all through the menus, and I'm not seeing anything. Running the latest version of Winamp too. Any help?
Pretty good but I'd still like to see the add/remove button for songs.
i.e closer to the vintage winamp <3.0 look
My only issue with WinAmp (for the pc) is that even though I have a pro license, it always crashes after exactly 5 hours of use. Doesn't matter what I'm doing. Hopefully the android app is a little better.
Not bad at all but pale in comparision to PowerAMP.
Those who try out Winamp should also try PowerAMP below You will not regret.

I don't know about you guys, but it's not showing up under Portables. I am connected to my home wifi and have wifi enabled in the Winamp settings. Is there some search function that we have to do?
it doesn't recognize your pre-existing songs on your android as being the same as your computer. it wants to re-copy them (presumably to a winamp folder on the android).
Then it doesn't exactly ask where to put them... making me think it's going on the internal SD card.... eh.
Hope they fix that in the next release.
I really wish CyanogenMod's "press trackball twice to skip track" feature worked with this media player, as it only seems to work with the stock music player
Update:
It copies all your music folders via WiFi to / , effectively making browsing supremely difficult.
It also manages to copy music to two different folders depending on if you connect via WiFi or USB, so if you finish copying via WiFi, then connect using USB, it tries to duplicate every song, and comes up with an error message that you don't have any free space left.

I am less enthusiastic about it, I already sent them a mail. I downloaded the mac version from their website and installed the beta 6 android version on my phone.
Connection is fast but everytime I connect to my mac my wallpaper on my mac disappears. Instead of that, I will get a blue background. Also I have to set the quality settings again everytime I connect. As my mac has a -1900x1200 resolution it looks like sh#t on default start up.

Come on guys, it's Teamviewer... do you like the original app? It's just the same. You can't connect to an IP (it ain't VNC!), you can choose to keep the remote wallpaper or not (as it was correctly said before), you can even choose to stress on Quality or Speed, you have your usual TV login to manage your regsitered PCs... what else? I'm so happy with that, as VNC regularly killed any java program running on the remote pc upon connection. By my need, Android is now fully functional!

STOKED!!!!!
thank you, zokipirlo. this is a great contribution to the android market.
Sounds like Plex, although it does allow you to download.
It doesn't work too good, I got a lot of garbage frames, big boxes of colors and stuff. My PC is fast enough so I don't think it's a problem with the encoding speed.
Also I found a bug, You cant add an entire hard drive letter, on the server it shows like C:/\ and on the app itself it shows C:\\ and when you enter it shows nothing.
I hope this app get better because I miss Air video from my iphone.
Also, could you make MKV embedded subs appear like they appear on the PC? I mean, encoding the subs with the video on the PC (for anime fansub and stuff)
EDIT: this is on a vibrant 2.2
Holy hd batman!!
Works perfectly on my Samsung Galaxy S2, This is great because plex didn't!!
The one and only feature i can suggest for now is 3G support, For when I'm not at home.
Video stops playing (crashes to menu) if I move the slider too fast. Also buffering takes too much time. I have fast wifi and i3 laptop.

If that's not a problem then it's probably quality related. Can you please tell me which quality profile or bitrate in case of custom profile are you using?
I tried all 3 profiles.
First the default one, appear to be good for 10 seconds but then randomly some frame goes bad and the next 30 frames looks awful too, then it corrects itself for another 10-15 seconds and the same happens.
The dual core preset appear to be the same.
And the low quality preset its a gamble, because sometimes looks better, but still got some bad frames, but sometimes it looks worse than the other 2 presets, almost 95% of bad frames.
Could it be a codec problems? I use CCCP for my video playback needs...

Hello fellow xda members!
I've recently got a galaxy 2 7.0 tab as a gift from a buddy of mine.
I was curious as to using the device in some ways like a net book. I mean heck the tablet is light, small and can be carried almost anywhere.
But I was wondering if there is any sort of way either default, mods, apps in order to browse my files on the pc?
I'm not looking for a remote app where for example you have a foobar remote (a music player on the pc) to use the tablet as a remote to play music on the pc... I find that pretty useless because I want to be able to hear the music from my tablet not my pc.
I've seen videos and I believe the app is called splash or somewhere around those lines, where you completely control the computer on the tablet, as if the tablet was a touch monitor.
That seems interesting but I'm more into looking for a file browser like application or mod where I can just browse through my computers folders and such in order to smoothly stream music and movies on my tablet through the WiFi network of my pc.
So pretty much, I'm looking for a way to stream files from my pc to my tablet without a lot of hassle and taking smoothness into consideration. I mean if there is no such way, I guess the other method where you completely control your pc would be nice too.
All in all, just a way to stream files on my tablet from my pc, and being able to listen and visualize it on my tablet, not my computer.
Thank you!
I had been using es file explorer (estrongs) but wanted something better. I have found the one app for managing your device's files and can access network drives. http://android.nextapp.com/site/
The basic app is free, but for sharing as you desire, there is a 7 day trial before you would have to buy the 'plus' add-on. I used the trial for 1 day and liked it enough to upgrade and install on both of my devices.
Browse, copy, move, open, edit networked files all from your tablet.
Get it. You won't regret it.
You can't know your limits until you exceed them.
A few screen shots showing navigation into one of our PCs... Hope I show them in the right order...

After selecting my basement PC, which is my home theater PC with all my movies:
After I select the primary drive (the C:\ drive):
If you navigate all the way to an mp3, avi, or jpeg file you can open it using whatever android app you prefer. For movies, I prefer MX player. Smooth streaming.
You can't know your limits until you exceed them.
Thank you so much! I'll check it out and report back
The UI looks very slick and fits with the tablet
Was wondering how you actually open files with the default or custom apps on the tab? Because whenever I click something, it'll show up with open with FX files.
At the bottom, it'll say file is too large to retrieve and send to an application.
EDIT:
I got the mx player (free one) to work with the app, however the videos as assumed were pretty choppy/laggy. Is it because I'm using the free version of mx player or cause of my wifi? My wifi is good, so probably because the tablet can't handle it maybe?
I was also wondering, should i be using the default mx player or the special ones like armv6 or armv7?
And, was also wondering if it's possible to access external hard drives from this as well? I can access my C drive, but my external G drive with all the movies and music can't be reached.
Thanks again!
You will be asked what app to use to open a file if you have more than one app that can open the file and none of them are set as the default app for such file. I believe defaults are cleared if you install a new app that is capable of running a file. For example, if you recieve an e-mail with a web link and you click on that link, the browser that opens the link is obviously the default app. If you install a new browser then try to open that link again, you should get a prompt asking you which app you want to use. This is where you would decide if you want to use a particular app for all future instances of opening a link (at least until you get a new browser or do an update on the non-default browser). I've seen some apps show up on the choice box that had nothing to do with that particular file type. I always try each one before I select 'always' on the selection box.
I'm able to run movies that are in excess of 1GB. No issues with lagging. Could be your PC delaying or stuttering the transmission of the file. Could be your wifi activity, if you have other devices doing network tasks it could be hogging your bandwidth. Reboot the PC and the tablet after you have got them working together. Might help.
The MX Player app should detect your configuration and suggest you install the additional apps such as the ARMV6. I use an Asus TF700 for these apps, so I don't know what you would need for your device.
External drives are accessable. If they have sharing enabled and you have set a share name (all done in windows sharing). You see in my screenshot that I have several external drives (FreeAgent Go Flex and JVC camcorder are USB2.0 connections).
one other option...
That app that duck mentioned above seemed very interesting and I am going to try it out myself! One other option you can do to move files back and forth from PC to tablet and vise versa is an "ftp server app". You can get many of these apps for free from the Google store. All you do is download the ftp server app and setup a login and pass. Then you download an ftp client for windows such as filezilla (which is my favorite). Now you just connect to the IP address and port number given by the ftp app running on your tablet. Now you can transfer files back and forth very easily! The best part of this is that one, its completely free and two, your tablet does not need to be rooted.
Also you should look for the Samsung usb drivers so you can connect your tablet that way and move files from your PC to your tablet or sdcard of tablet very easy. You can find these USB drivers here on this forum or with a simple Google search. If for some reason you can't find them let me know and I will post you a link.
Oh, and if you are looking for a way to control your PC remotely, look into team viewer it is such a great app, the absolute best!
I hope that has helped you out,

Sorry ink I thought you only wanted to transfer files from PC to tablet, not play/stream files that on your PC from your tablet. However, if you move the files over to your tablet, especially movies they will play better, and then you can always delete the file to free up the space. I see you are having trouble playing videos with MX player...
Try mobo player or v player both of those work great for me...
I hope that what I said above helps you out, there is always more than one way to do things.

Hi all,
I know there are several apps who allow you to emulate the AirPlay function on your android device, but I was rather surprised to see that this one wasn't mentioned anywhere on the forums. Basically in 1 step you can use the AirPlay from your Android device.
I use Spotify a lot and after buying a Sony CMT-BT80WB which has Bluetooth®, NFC, Wi-Fi, DLNA and AirPlay it was very disappointing to find out that the new Spotify Connect feature doesn't work with it. However with this app it works like a charm I've been using the app for a couple of days and it works so well that I paid for it right away - yes, you can pay for it if you don't want interruptions, but for making AirPlay possible straight from my Android it's well worth to pay a couple of bucks.

Needless to say that it's not my app - just wanted to share with anyone who had the same issues as I had.
Great that you wrote this thread! Im about to purchase a LG G2. I now have a iphone and ipad plus two airport express'es that I Airplay to without any trouble. And i want to keep using airplay when i purchase an android phone, as bluetooth sucks in comparison.
I havent found any video at all showing how well AirStream or AirAudio works. Could anyone please record a video that shows how it works. Is it as easy and as good as on an iOS-device? Any hiccups?
How do you control volume? How do you activate Airplay? Like slide down the top bar and activate it?
Please show it off before i go buy myself an lg g2 and start rooting to notice it doesnt work as i expect it to!?
Thank you!
I've been playing with all of these apps over the last week or so but am hitting some problems. I used something called AirAudio to stream ANY sounds playing on one device to another (This is perfect for things like Spotify etc.). I massively recommend AirAudio as an app to test out.
I have a couple of old android phones setup around my house which have speakers connected to them. I run Bubbleupnp on each of those devices which then effectively sets them up as DLNA libraries and renderers. I have two other devices setup - an android tablet and a QNAP NAS. My QNAP NAS supports DLNA and this is where my music library is stored. The android tablet is used as a controller, again running Bubbleupnp, where I can choose the NAS as the library and either of the android devices as speakers. This works great.
One problem is that with Bubbleupnp, it is only possible to select one renderer which means it is not possible to stream to multiple speakers at the same time. E.g. I want to stream to my kitchen and my living room at the same time with the music completely in sync. Another problem is that when using Bubbleupnp, music sent to the renderer must be from a library and cannot be live streaming on the controller device (E.g. Spotify, Youtube etc.).
I then found AirAudio which actually fixed both of the issue (Sort of). Firstly, when running AirAudio on a rooted device, you can push any sounds from the controller device to any of the DLNA renderers (E.g. Spotify). Secondly, it is possible to stream to multiple DLNA renderers at the same time (Obviously, Bubbleupnp still needs to be running on these devices to make them DLNA devices). The only problem here is that when sending to multiple renderers at the same time, they are not in sync. The is due to the actual streaming being performed on the individual devices and therefore they all perform differently.
I emailed the AirAudio development team and they were extremely helpful in explaining the details of this to me and even recommended some other apps to try which might help. The apps which they recommended were Android HiFi and AirBubble where it is possible to set different delays for the different renderers. I am yet to actually try this yet as I imagine that the delay is not exactly the same each time I try and play music and therefore the delay will need to be altered regularly (Bit of pain).
This whole problem is a limitation of DLNA - you cannot synchronise multiple devices. Apparently you can synchronise multiple AirPlay devices?
So, after all of that, my question is, 'Is it possible to turn an Android device into a AirPlay device?' The developers at AirAudio seemed to think that audio synchronisation of AirPlay receivers for Android is not supported, if this is true, does anyone know why? Seems mad that something as powerful as an Android phone can't be an AirPlay device.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Dan
