A friend put something called twrp on my phone so i could use tmobile network on a att htc one m8. This process disabled my wifi so i restored the phone to factory setting and wifi is still greyed out. I remember him saying he could get s-on but not s-off. I don't even know what that means. However, everything else on my phone works. I wanted to put lollipop drop or some other program on the phone but im afraid to do it

Hello,
I currently have a new HTC one X (AT&T) but as i attempted to root, I had continuious failiures. As i read the fourms i found on this page/showthread.php?t=1709424&page=18 that I needed to have a connection to the AT&T network. The problem is that I got this phone shipped here, to Canada where i am with Telus. I currently have the software version 1.85. I am looking for any other way which i could root my phone!
Thanks in advance
Figured out what to do a while back, and just for future reference take your sim out and turn wifi on.

im have a htc one m7 on verizon android 4.4.2 sense 6
im trying to get the ViperOne rom into this phone but the phone is not s-off(unable to) not rooted, no TWRP,
is there anyway to install this amazing rom without soff the device, if possible, please instruct me
Hi,
I'm not an expert in HTC devices but I think that yes, you need s-off to install custom ROMs so you'll have to check your phone's forum to see how you can do it and then flash the ROM.
Greetings
Well my Verizon cannot be s off. What should i do

What's going on guys. I bought this unlocked att htc one m8 a couple of days ago and was hoping to switch the cid/mid to T-Mobile. However, while I did get the boot loader unlocked along with rooting it, sunshine keeps saying error and makes me exit. Can anyone help? I'm currently running an insertcoin rom could this possibly be the issue?
P.s. Ever since I flashed insertcoin, I haven't been able to flash any other roms. So if anyone could also help with that it would be a big help!
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Your best option here is to use the live support on the Sunshine site.
Thread closed, thanks.
Hi all,
I'm posting here since I have found no answers on this forum nor on other websites...
If this is not the right section to ask the question, please move the post.
I had HTC One S villec2 (S3 CPU) which I was able to use any SIM card with, but once it suddenly stopped working and no repair shop was able to revive it, so I bought another one just to use the mainboard for my old phone. The thing is that the phone I've bought was locked in another network/carrier and I thought if I flash a custom ROM it would take care of the problem, but it didn't.
I currently have TWRP and ViperS 5.2.1 ROM from Team Venom running, but there is no way from what I read to SIM-unlock the phone.
I'm hoping that someone could help me with a solution, maybe there is one and I missed it.
I'm mentioning that I tried all methods for S4, but none worked...
Many thanks!
Hey everyone, so I recently bought an at&t branded HTC One M8 phone. I got an unlock code for it and popped in a t-mobile sim card.
Everything was working fine, until I saw that I couldn't send/receive mms messages, and group chats. I've tried different APN settings, I've tried 3rd party apps to send messages, still no go.
I read somewhere that a fix for the MMS on the HTC One M8 is to flash the at&t system to a t-mobile system.
So far I've:
- Unlocked Bootloader
- Installed TWRP
- S-Off
- SuperCID
Now, I'm stuck. I've tried running the stock T-Mobile RUU for the HTC One M8 that I got on the official HTC site, but still no go.
Some software info...
Android Version - 4.4.2
HTC Sense Version - 6.0
Software number - 1.58.502.1
HTC SDK API level - 6.17
------------------------------------
Can anyone help me out here? Willing to give some money over paypal to the person who makes this work.

If you somehow can revert back to stock AT&T you should return it and complain. It sounds like the device is defective.

Made an account! I'm the original poster.
Anyways, since I did s-off, root, and unlock, I don't think I'd be able to return it.
Also, I am going out of the country soon (Less than a week) for a trip and I need this to work right now! I can't return it in time, I bought it over amazon.
