[Q] my galaxy note 10.1 n8000 doesnt charge with power bank - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi
I bought a power bank (adata pv-110) .when i connet my tablet to 2.1 Aport show a little red x on battry .
the charger is 2 A but power bank is 2.1 A i dont understand why?
does my tablet have problem?

Define the problem .
Does tablet charge via normal charger .
Does powerbank charge another product .

N8000 is tricky in charging. I have two in office and sometimes they do not "like" some chargers and many of battery banks. Why it is like that - ask Samsung. My suggestions: try to charge with original charger to 60-80%, reconnect to your power bank and see what happens. BTW, what are you running on your n8000? Some ROMs have problems charging when device is off as reported by users. I am on OMNI 5.1 and for me it is fine.
PS: my XIAOMI super powerful bank does not like my portable WiFi router with tiny battery. Consumption is so little during the charge so it disconnects it.

I cannot charge my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 with my powerbank . Help me .
Are you using the lead that came with the Powerbank, or the Samsung USB lead. I have a similar power pack but the Note only charges with the lead from the power pack as they have adapted the connection for Samsung tablets.
Probally down to ampage, the output needs to be 2amp i think but phones only need 1amp

I was using a Zagg Sparq which had a high-output USB port for tabets. The Note wouldn't indicate that it was charging (no lightning bolt through the battery indicator) but it in fact was. I got the Samsung battery pack and it works fine now and the Note charges a lot faster than it did with the Sparq. The Samsung has a daisy chain feature which is cool so if both the battery pack and device need to be charged it's smart enough to charge the device first before itself. It's a bit pricey though but it's 9,000 mAh and incredibly small and light. It also comes with a one foot USB cable for the Note and one for micro USB.

Any signal about the power bank when you using your power bank charging your devices?
Most power banks are wired for Apple devices - being the marketing lead - and you need a converter. I found one that works perfectly but I cannot locate it at the moment. I found this while looking though, just order one - may make it easier not to have to carry quite so many things: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009ZQKMDA

.
solution
The simple things first.
make sure your power bank is fully charged
Make sure it has a 2A output. Modern power banks have both 1 Amp and 2 Amp.
On other sites it is recommended to sever the green and white wire in the Samsung usb to Samsung connector cable. On the Samsung side the green and white wires are joined together (signal wires).
This will not do the job on a Samsung Note 10.1
What is needed is that the green and white wired joined together need to have a voltage on them of approximately 1.2 Volts. The Samsung Note 10.1 recognises this as a compatible charger.
The same can be said of a car charger.
So by using a 33Kohm resistor from the red wire (+5V) to the grren and white junction and a 10 Kohm resistor from the Black (0 Volt ) line to the same green and white junction you will produce a voltage of approx 1.2 Volts.
I have tried this. My prototype looks like a web made by a spider on **s. But I get a green charge icon - no more red cross. Finally.
Cheers
Same problem in Note 10+
But this is not Note 10 + forum .
Can't help myself for answering to this issue.
I to was having those issues on only charging with original adapter and original lead.
After updating with costum os, ressurection remix, i was flabbergasted when plugging the lead info my PC, it started charging.
From now on, original lead andere any charger will charge my note
So all is just a software issue

Slow charging

Sometimes (no pattern) the note charges very very slowly: in 4 hours this morning, for example, has increased of only 15%.
You can tell cos the charger is not hot.
Is it a charger/cable/connector problem?
Do you see a little red "X" over the battery when this happens? i believe unless you use one of the Samsung chargers it won't charge at full speed but will still trickle charge slowly. I've also found that even with the Samsung charger when I used a really long USB cord I wasn't getting full speed charging, so a long or bad cord can be an issue.

No red X, original cable and charger... To solve I have to unplug e replug couple of times
Same here
When I connect the Note 10.1 to my Computer or last time I tried to connect to car charger it gives a red cross. Why does this keep happening ??
My note 10.1 just started charging slowly noticeably.
I used an app called Galaxy Charging Current, and sure enough, the status shows that it is charging at 1amp, instead of the nominal 2amps.
This is on the original charger and cable.
I recommend everyone to check out the app called Galaxy Charging Current.

The red X is difefrent: you cannot charge the note 10.1 with a usb cable or in car with a 1 Amp adaptor, it needs 2
Opinion
My GT-N8000 from original ICS 4.0.4 until now using XXCMI2 DBT Deodexed sometimes too long for charging ( charge always at power off mode ). sometimes 5-6 hours and it still not full 100%. It'll be full 100% if unplug and replug again and wait at least 1 or 2 hours. after long time experiment, My conclusion when charge at power off from 35% or below, It will be 5-6 hours charge and not full but charge at 60% power off mode charge it will be full 100% charged just 2-3 hours. that's very strange. at power on never got this problem, always 100% full.
All accessories, charger and cable data were original.
Any Opinion???
Thanks

could be the ROM you are using. Did this happen when you were stock? I know on my HTC one there were a few roms that I would have to plug the USB in three of four times just to get it to work correctly. Then I changed roms and BOOM works perfect again.
@Tiltmfc
For Me that happen on stock ROM too, coz when I purchase this N8000 at special price on 1st day launch in Indonesia, I must wait until root feature available at least 2-3 month and I always charge at OFF condition and almost rare at ON mode. at official ICS at OFF always like this, real real long to be fully charged when start charge at 30% and Don't know when reach 100% if I don't unplug the charger cable at least once.

I had the same problem previously. Solved by getting a new charger (whole set including the cable)! One hour charging = >15% increase
Cool
Wow Cool, maybe charger problem. For Now I've never charge my N8000 below 60% at OFF Mode. always taking 3 hours charging time to 100%.
Thanks for sharing.
Yep I'd agree that it sounds like your charger or wire is on its way out. I had a similar issue with my S3, changed charger - problem fixed
Samsung 10.1 Note N8000 charging slow
I have one from early 2013. The issue is that during the charging process, sediments get deposited both on the plug and the socket. This over a period of time reduces the contact between male and female parts contributing to slow charging.
In a post, some one mentioned that his friends charger worked on his tablet and his charger did the job for his friend. Some one was able to fix the issue with a new charger. The fact is, any change that reduces the sedimentary issue thus enhancing contact will work better.
I took an obsolete tooth brush cleaned the plug and then held the phone's socket down while cleaning that as well. Vila, my charging speed has improved.
Samsung had a proprietary cable for 2013 and later they replaced it with micro USB in 2014. The sediment issue is not as pronounced as in other mobiles which use different cable type. In N8000, the current in DC o/p is also high at 2A which may be causing this problem.

Slow charging speed on GT8013

Hello,
Guyz can you tell me why i am getting like 30%Battery in 8h of charging?
My Tablet is like 4 years old im using the gnabo Rom with its standart kernel.
But sometimes it charges normaly?
Does anyone have an Idea?
Usual .
Battery on its way out .
USB cable or port faulty .
Charger faulty .
I Did a research. And i turned off my WiFi while charging and it charges normally now!
Through trial and error, I have found a way to speed up charging and use tablet at same time by purchasing a 2 amp charger, new generic Samsung n8000/n8010/n8103 usb long cable, more importantly a pisen for galaxy usb converter. Also, this converter is useful for charging with external battery pack.
All items are available on eBay or Amazon.

My power bank wont charge my phone unless it charges something else

Hello I recently bought a 20000mAh Dual USB Power Bank Case Kit 6X 18650 (Power Bank) and I tried to charge my phone (Samsung galaxy S4), but it doesn't seem to charge UNLESS something else is charging with my phone. I tried with more than 3 cables that usually work and it doesn't change anything. Before that, I had chinese power banks and it was working but this time, it doesn't.
Thanks for reading.
some power bank have auto off features when there is no amp request
some batteries will cut off charging at initial charge phase to check it self.
that powerbank suck. can't it wait just few more seconds?

Mate 9 not supercharging anymore

Hey,
I have a mate 9 with the original charger. Since nowadays is supercharged very fast, but recently i got the emui 8.0.0.366 update and (i'm not sure that update is connected to the issue) the phone is not supercharging.
I don't find any option in the settings where i could turn it on/off. The charger is the same original in good condition.
What could be the problem?
do you have china, us or europe version? I'm on 8.0.0.342 and is charging superfast as usual with huawei charger and with others takes 4-6 hrs for a full charge.

It's Europe version. Yeah before the update it was superfast for me, was enough to plug in just for a little time and was ready to go. And now it's need a full night to charge up enough
I can't find any answer why and how could i turn on again the supercharger.
Is it possible that the cable or charger is damaged in some way?
Another thing that comes to mind is the age of the battery - the phone with the updates might have decided that it's not safe to supercharge any longer because the battery has too many charge cycles on it.

I noticed this too with my phone I let it cool down and restarted it and used different chargers to charge. Let your battery drain to like 40 percent and let it charge on the stock charger and hope it supercharge again.

Now i let my battery drain to 0%, turned off and plugged in my stock charger, but still not superchargeing I don't have near any other stock charger to try. I just suspect that this problem is software related, not hardware as i bought the phone + charger around 5-6 months ago and it is in a very good condition, not any sign of hardware problem. The battery drains very slow and the phone is operating good and not damaged anything.
Did you change the cable? It has to be the original with a purple USB tip or equivalent OEM...
I too say that it sounds like a bad cable. If it's damaged or the phone thinks it cannot support Supercharge, then it won't charge with that protocol. This is why almost any other cable connected to the factory charger won't let your phone Supercharge. I have found and bought a nice nylon braided cable from on Amazon that DOES support Supercharge and has purple inserts on the connectors to indicate it is Supercharge capable to 5A power. I use this cable with my Huawei Supercharge 12v car adaptor.
Also in the update, the Supercharge icon is now a single large bolt rather than a pair of larger bolts like before the update.

I have 2, 1 is chinese version, 1 is international version. So that I have 2 superchargers. The first, it has 2 scars charge icon (2 icons), the second, it has 1 icon with 2 scars. When I change charger, the second have 3 charge mode: 1 scar, 2 scar with 2 icon (quick charge), 2 scar with 1 icon (super charge). When charging, the first is a integer number (ex: 50%), the second is adecimal number (ex: 50,5%).
Some time, It is note charge with super mode but 1 scar mode (nomal charge) althouth I change charger or cable.
So, it is upto ROMs, Charger, Cable, Electric and Humidity and other thing else.
