[Q] Get Nexus 6 Now or wait for the G4 - Android General

So I have recently cracked my Galaxy S3 screen and I am thinking of a new device. Nexus 6 or G4 ?
Pros Nexus 6
Stock Android
Latest and great version
Timely updates
Great Support though the rooting community
The amount of radio bands on the device
Pros G4
Removable Battery
Micro SD card support
Display
camera
What do you guys think should I wait till the announcement of the g4 or just get a nexus ?

Depends what you prefer. G4 will be more of a "beast" than the Nexus

[Q] Nexus 4 or Optimus G?

Hello. I want to buy one of these phones. Whitch should i buy? I wont use LTE, because my carrier doesn't support it. I dont really care about camera and I will be using spotify for music so I dont care about internal storage. But the most interesting thing is that Optimus G is cheaper than Nexus 4 in my country. So whitch should I buy?

They seem to be mostly the same: http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=5048&idPhone2=4941
I'd go for the Nexus (if it's not that much more expensive), as it will surely get the next few updates.
whitch phone has better music quality?
Well the the Optimus G and Nexus 4 are basically the same phone internally except for a few things such as LTE ad a external sdcard. If you looking at how long your phone would be supported according to updates I would go for the Nexus 4 but if money is tight then go for Optimus G as it is literally the same phone. Overall if money isn't a problem then go with the Nexus 4 it is a good investment as you will be able to enjoy many iterations of android on it.

"The Google Nexus 4 audio output is virtually identical to that of the LG Optimus G. Hardly shocking, given that most of the circuitry inside is identical, but still pretty good news."
-GSMArena review
You can find it here:

I linked to the page with music quality tests.
The Optimus G spec sheet states that it includes "Dolby mobile sound enhancement", whereas the Nexus 4 doesn't. It might be more of a marketing term, though.
But I know how to install custom rom (I've done it hundreds of times with my atrix), so I can have latest android in optimus G too. I saw there is few stable roms for optimus G. So maybe thats the reason i should buy optimus G?
If you're into flashing - ROMs, that is - and the OG is cheaper, why not go with the OG? It's virtually identical to the N4, but has 32GB internal storage - there is no external SD card option.
I personally prefer the design of the N4, as it's more rounded and comfortable to hold than the OG. Also, I like knowing that I'll be getting updates straight from Google.
They're both great phones. Can't go wrong with either one.

I would personally suggest the nexus 4
I'd go with the Nexus 4, all of the other Nexus devices have been awesome.
N4
But i have 8GB of music, and i want to play some good games...

Moto G or Nexus 4 (Dev in mind)

Hi guys,
I'm thinking of getting either a Moto G or a (used) Nexus 4 for a friend who might be getting into Android development. I understand that Nexus devices are the most developer friendly but in what way and by how much will the Moto G be worse off as a developer device?
Development aside, I'd rather get the Moto G because it'll new and has better battery life. The higher specs / better gaming experience of the Nexus 4 is not that important for my friend.

Custom roms can be built for the N4 using 4.4.2 and custom recoveries are fully function. For the Moto G, the latest rom is 4.3 and there is no fully functional custom recovery.
Once the bootloader on the Moto G has been unlocked, I don't think there is a method to re-lock the bootloader to restore the warranty.
I would say that u buy the nexus 4 for a cheap price and sell it with a higher price than u bought it , then u can buy the moto g
Seriousely buy the nexus 4 if its not too much used cause the specs are better and if battery life is not good then u can buy a new one and change it http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+4+Teardown/11781
The nexus should have a larger community for the next 1-2yrs.

[Q] LG G2 vs Nexus 5, which one will be better for the same price?

Hello. I have an opportunity to take a 32gb model N5 or G2 for the same price. I need to know, which one will be better for the day use for my cases:
1) much phone calls (GSM + SIP calls)
2) music
3) e-reading
4) foto
5) web serfing.
Thank you.
P.S. I hope, people who will recommend me one or another phone, had the opportunity to test both devices.
If I were to get a phone right now it would be the note 3, but if you don't like the note 3 I suggest get a dumb phone and wait for the new phones to come out (2014) however if I was given the chance to pick a g2 or Nexus 5 if you are into flashing ROMs and development go with the Nexus 5, LG G 2 will seize development sooner or later however the lg g2 does have better specs it depends on preference.

is this device worthy in buying in 2015

hello guys i need help that i want a low budget phone that can be easily be found in dubai under 300 dollars so is it a nice phone if not recomend any 5.0 inch phone with a 800 plus snapdragon chip
ps sorry if i miss any word
u cant go wrong with the nexus5 it rules not one problem with stock and lots customs u can try too though all the customs ive tried so far too bugy to big batt loss so i stick with stock just few changes
No, definitely not around $300
I'd buy it if it was for $100 though
Surely the Nexus 5 is a nice phone, but $300 for a new one is too much, plus there aren't many new ones out there either. I bought mine second-hand for a little more than $100.
At least in my country I can get a Droid Turbo, a Galaxy S5 LTE-A, or a G3 LTE-A for just around $300.

Every phone I've had has always been a step up and I've looked at the old one as inferior to the new one. I now have a Nexus 6 and have just had a reconditioned Nexus 5 returned to me by Google under a warranty claim. This is the first time that I've thought "Why did I get a new phone?" - the Nexus 5 is a superb, beautiful device and is easily as good as many current new phones, especially now that it'll be getting Android 6.

If you were buying a new phone

There are so many to choose from, I've somewhat narrowed it down to a few but will not exclude others. MicroSD expansion, removeable battery, rootability and running custom roms make up my criteria. I am on AT&T currently using a Note 4, my carrier limits some of the samsung devices from being root friendly, so really not looking at the s6 and note 5 although I could buy a T-Mobile variant and use it on at&t. Really like what I see from the moto x style (pure), lg nexus 5x(awaiting verified specs), Huawei nexus 6p (awaiting verified specs) and the lg g4. Tomorrow (9/29/15) is the Google announcement of the two new Nexus devices (LG 5x and Huawei 6PP) and the first two devices to be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. I enjoy reading the input of fellow xda members and figured if you were me, which one would you pick? Or would you pick something else?
