open source code for D800 lollipop v30f - AT&T LG G2

Hello!
Tittle describes all, Just for informative and developers:
http://opensource.lge.com/fileMgr/download/op/LGD800/506481?
please moderators make it visible (pin it and make it non editable or replyable) if is possible.
@Cloudyfa and all other developers make it posible cloudyG3 3.0 for D80X too!!
Thanks!!!

We know. The dream team is already taking it apart, actually they started that about 18 hours ago.
Don't worry. You'll get your stuff soon.
Keep in mind that I am not a representative for them, but I can rest fairly certain that I'm speaking for the proper parties right now -- they can't because they're busy.
I already was able to build the stock kernel! It built smooth, 0 errors, for d800. But we need to get the bootloader situation straightened out first.

hey @berryman13
@bender_007 posted an autorec for the d800 lollipop in the playstore. I started a thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/general/autorec-lollipop-d800-t3084739
I'm willing to test some of those kernels out for ya since we have access to TWRP now!

Could you post a .zip to the LP stock kernel you were able to build? Do you think it'd work if I tried flashing that kernel on the official CM12 nightly for the D800?

No won't work properly, because it will need the correct bootloader and radios.

What if I flashed the bootloader and radio? Would those work on CM12?

Thierry is no bootloader or radios officially out for lollipop yet. So I am guess no. Good chance of hard bricking your phone if you proceed.

I was very happy to help, Scott. I know from experience the ROM is worth the wait! Thanks again for looking out for us T-Mo folks!
Being the guinea pig, I can confirm 100% that everything works perfectly. It does take about 5 mins to wipe and 5 mins to install so don't freak out!

noob question, but how is a stock rooted rom different from just the stock version that comes with the phone, and what are the advantages?

The biggest thing is he now has a base. I sent Scott our system dump and boot.img files and he put something together, and while he couldn't test it, I did at the risk of bricking my phone so we can all have a clean base for ROMS. You're welcome

There are zero advantages to the "average" person. None at all...
Unless you fall into these categories...
1. Screwed your phone up and half the things just don't work right because you "read something on the internet to make your phone (battery last longer, speed it up, random useless failed feature here)" and it didint quite go the way you expected it to and you cannot send TXT messages (just a random made up example). This would be a great way to fix that...
2. You flashed "Dev A's" ROM and you realized that the color (random color here) is not for you and you are about to go insane but are on the road so you can just flash this back to get back to a stock look.
3. You want to build your own ROM for personal use and you really dont know where to begin but you know what apps you DONT want in the phone. Yo could use this base to get started.
4. Your another Dev that doesnt have the experience of setting up a stock rooted ROM and may need to use this base to get started. Many people use my stock rooted ROMS across a MULTITUDE of devices because they trust that they are as close to perfect in all aspects as possible. (I was a newb once too and needed to use other stock roots).
If you dont fit into those categories... Then this rom has no value to you.

[Q] Noob with a Nexus S

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum but have been around the block a few times when it comes to software development, albeit not at a hardware level. I've got a couple old Android phones that I'm looking to root and play around with, but I'm having some trouble with the vernacular. The first device I'm trying is the newest of the old lot, a Nexus S (crespo).
I'm trying to install the "Guru" kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-s/development/kernel-guru-t2783561), but can't see how <4MB would be a complete system image. Does this kernel just reflect a patch that should be applied to the CM ROM, and if so, which one? I've rooted the phone using SuperOneClick but don't know where to go from here.
Thanks for helping this noob out, guys and gals. Cheers from Australia!

Thanks mate. Do I download this rom from the CM site, and does it matter which version I use? Am I correct in interpreting your directions to mean that "flashing" the kernel doesn't overwrite the whole rom, just simply acts like a patch after the CM distro is flashed?

Even experienced people brick(Im bricked right now) but thats part of the risk. My brick thankfully looks exactly like a standard failed update bootloop. So im going to try to replace through sprint.

Really? Well that's awesome - I'll edit my thread then. Thanks for letting me know it worked out for you! In my free time I've been just going through the EntitlementcheckService app source to see if I can change it to just simply allow us to use it without even working about changing our build.prop. From using logcat it seems like it still goes through some provisioning when it detects it's an AT&T device (even when you using net.tethering.noprovisioning=true in the build.prop).

Yes, still had Bluetooth issues...after flashing due to the instructions...and NOT wiping. So....I wiped, and don't seem to have any Bluetooth issues. I NOW have Google "Always On" issues. It won't stay on...and doesn't respond to "OK Google." Trying to do this, also makes the phone extremely laggy. I'll post the same in the actual Tilde88 thread.

d2usc development dead?

It's been about 2 years since a ROM has been built for this device, yet all other variant S3's are still developed for to this day, why?
Yeah, it would appear that way. I am looking today for a ROM as well. Mine is not a phone I use anymore for anything other than to play music, so I"m tempted to try a verizon or sprint ROM ha ha.

Verizon(d2vzw) ROMs should not be too hard to port to d2usc.
Try this for starters, you'll need more info to go with this.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069850
Also, you might be able to flash it without changing anything, only issue might be camera or WiFi not working.

I've modified lineage OS for the d2vzw to flash on a d2usc, it had quite a few issues which I believe are related to the baseband. Sound, cellular, etc would not work at all.

I flashed straight up d2spr, and d2vzw and both worked ok, but as it was just stated, the sound wouldn't work, and probably the other things mentioned, I mostly noticed the sound, which is a deal breaker, because I'm using the device for sound lol.

Anyone want to trade a d2usc for a d2vzw?
After a while of playing around, if you flash systemless SuperSU after forcing d2vzw lineage on it, it fixes sound for the next boot but the notification is stuck fading in and out like it's booting even if it finished long ago. I'm looking into building Lineage for d2usc, I'm new to it though.

I don't think CM/Lineage is a TouchWiz ROM though.
Just realised it also points out how to port AOSP, but it says both ROMs must be the same Android version. The point of porting a d2vzw ROM to d2usc is for 7.1.1 which the d2vzw has but the d2usc doesn't. I've only seen 5.0 for the d2usc that has working sound and cellular.
Nevermind read a thread on how to convert sdat to img vise versa and modify it. I'll try it tomorrow.
