[Q] New OnePlus model or old Iphone? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I just watched this news report on Bloomberg here, and saw one of the people messing with a phone. It's not an iphone since it is missing the hole above the speaker grill.
Just thought I'd share and get your thoughts.

I think is a kind of Chinese copy of iPhone, at least I hope 1+ never use such a design on OnePlus two..

[Q] Unbelievably torn

I recently broke my Nexus 4, unfortunate, I know. (It was like my child after sitting on this forum with many of you, waiting two months for it to arrive after launch) I made the switch to Android about a year ago, coming from a blackberry, and never thought I'd look back. I'm now faced with a bit of a predicament. With an upgrade available for me, it's feasible, as it wasn't when I purchased my Nexus, to consider buying the 5s. I love stock android, plain and simple, and I have no regrets about purchasing a substantially larger phone. I have nothing against Iphones, they just weren't for me at the time. Now, however, as me and my friends have gone off to university, Imessage (Group chat specifically) is how all of my closely knit friends stay in touch. I feel left out, to say the least. That and the Itouch on the 5s is tempting me to make the move, at least for now, to the dark side. I still can't quite move past purchasing a brand new, Nexus 5 however. The updates, screen, and operating system are all pulling me in. Granted this is an Android forum, and this may seem an odd place to be asking a question about switching the iphone, I'm still partial to Android and thought the bias may play well into my personal opinion. The last thing I want is buyers remorse. All you central members who have switched to Iphones or vice versa, what do?
Much thanks.

with the nexus 5 you should be able to go into quite a few higher Android Versions, so it will get even better and better, the iphone 5s might be great for now but it will probably only receive one or even if we are lucky a 2nd. that's apples way of saying "we are unable to get iOS 9.x running smoothly on the iPhone 5 so if you want our new stuff buy another flagship!" (no offense to old apple, most of us just hate the new apple) with android even if the nexus 5 no longer gets official updates you still have the android community to look to for newest Versions. i hope you stick true to android! i dont like most of apples products but i thought the iphone 5s was great!

[Q] Is the headphone port normally faulty on OnePlus One phones?

As I've discussed here I'm sick of having problem with my slow, old & otherwise problematic Samsung Galaxy S3. Now I noticed yesterday that the OnePlus One had gone on general sale for the weekend as a Black Friday "special" or something. Unfortunately it appears to have today sold out. I would love to get a HTC One M8 but I've chosen NOT to upgrade my phone contact, and instead move onto a SIM-only contract, as there are no phones on the market that have replaceable batteries that I'm interested in. I'm hoping Samsung take a good look at phones that have been released this year, like the OnePlus One and M8, and release a damn good Galaxy S6 next year. I know I want to stick to Android, but there just hasn't been any phoned that's grabbed me.
However, the OnePlus One has the largest battery of any major smartphone at the moment as far as I know, other than getting into like a Galaxy Note or whatever, which I'm not interested in either. So, I'm hoping that the battery will suffice. Also, it's abit annoying about the no Micro-SD port, but with the 64GB model that shouldn't be a problem. And well, quite frankly, being a top of the range phone at essentially half the price, you can't really go wrong. And if I really didn't like it, and wanted a more mainstream phone in a few months, I'd be happy to give it to a family member or sell it or whatever.
Anyway, I was watched the Tested review of the phone and they seemed to mention that the speakers weren't great but moreso the bigger problem for me being that the headphone port was quite bad. It seemed to negatively affect the music that was being played. Is this a common problem? How bad is it? Is there any way to solve this?
I tend to use my phone all the time in the car as my music player, either for songs or podcasts, & so a fault like this would unfortunately instantly kill any interest I had in the phone.
I have two of these phones and the headphone port is fine on both of them. I also know dozens of other OnePlus One owners and none of them have problems with their headphone ports.

Never heard of that either, and I have spent a fair amount of time in the OP forum, where believe me there are lots of interesting complaints...!

Burned by Note 7(not lit!), No more Samsung, what's on the horizon?

Hey guys,
i've been financially "burned" by Samsung because of the Note 7, in all, i've lost about £150 so, im ducked if I'm ever going to buy a Samsung device again including S7, S8.
I'm now back on my Priv which is good but, i'm bored of it and the screen isn't actually that good so, what next? The Pixels physically look boring and to be honest, the spec's seem over priced so, they don't interest me. The next is the LG V20 but i'm seeing a LOT of reports of poor screen quality, maybe the same screen as used in my Priv?, so, i'm not interested in this. My wife had a Huwawei P8 and the software was terrible so, i'm not too interested in them either.....
What other "top of the range" phones are out that are interesting? If it has USB C and Wireless charging, that would help negate some of my £150 loss ... but i'd rather bite my nose off than give Samsung any more of my money.
It's a pity that you don't like emui, but the Huawei Mate seems to be a good option.
I also don't like the new Pixels , so I was thinking about getting a Nexus 6p ;there should be easy to find a good offer.
Also you may want to take a look at the One Plus 3.
But I don't find any really exciting phone these days... The note 7 could have been, but I won't buy a Samsung at least in the next few years.

That's the problem, nothing interesting out their for me. Had hoped someone might have pointed out something I missed....
Oh, LG, why did you put such an alleged awful screen on the V20....

OnePlus 6 VS iPhone X ? Which one should you buy ?

Comparing the new OnePlus 6 vs iPhone X. Which device would you take?
Both of them are made up of glass and metal with some incredible attention to detail. And
when it comes to performance both the phones work like a breeze.
The other Major difference between them is their price. One Plus 6 costs the half of an Iphone X, so does it really justify the price difference ? What do you think ?
No remote point in this thread, honestly. If you're an iOS user, get an iPhone. If you like android, get an Android.
I would rather not have a phone than buy an Apple product. With that being said the only thing that I wish my OnePlus 6 had was an IR sensor. Because my lazy a** is so tired of searching for my remote.
On an OP forum why on earth would you make a useless thread of deciding which phone to take? The title clearly says OnePlus 6 Guides, News, & Discussion. I don't get all these people who come on a certain topic of discussion and ask questions irrelevant to the topic, usually as this one is *should I get this or an apple based device*, *which device will give me best battery*, etc etc etc
I'd make a thread on an iphone forum.
Then get an iphone x with quick charging that's not that quick. But be sure and pick up a quick charger $ as it doesn't come with one.

If you're confused in choosing between 2 phones with completely different OS, i think you need a lot more help buddy.
I'd just buy a white and a black OP6 instead of the iphone X! .
If you like to use smaller phone then get the iphone x
If jailbreaking were easy like it used to be....nah I'll stick with android
Well just ask yourself if the iPhone X can do twice as much as the OnePlus 6 since it costs twice as much
This should help you decide (if you're interested). Comparing the top models of both the phones.
Note: Not comparing Avengers edition 256gb as it is a limited edition.

You ask if you should buy an iPhone in Android community modding?
OnePlus6 and iPhone X better choice [emoji108]

i come from an iphone x to the op6 so my answer is op6
...
I've had an iPhone x & to be quiet honest with you I got bored of it. Jailbreak is dead & the OnePlus community is awesome. I also owned the Pixel 2 xl & while yes the camera is King of Kings the development for it is dead because of the price range. The camera on the OP6 isn't bad at all it's just lacks good dynamic range
I don't regret getting the OP6 over anything else. It's a beautiful phone & have been enjoying since day one. The iPhone x is twice the price & almost a year old. Why take a step back instead of forward? Just my two cents
No ways you going to get a objective view here.
But really it's a case of do you prefer diesel or petrol, tea or coffee, beef or chicken, windows or mac, missionary or women on top...

I´ve windows and mac; and to be honest, concerning the last comparison both is welcome.. I hope I could help
You can buy 2 OnePlus 6...
You have to review your existing system. If you have a MAC, iPad, and other Apple accessories then you are already "married" to Apple ecosystem. It will make more sense to buy another Apple product. If there are no existing strong ties with any particular system, go for OP6. Flexibility to root and much cheaper price point w/o sacrificing any key features. hope this helps.

Did Oneplus kill this device?

Looking at the forum, there is not much dev activity compared to the Pro forum, which is a shame. This is likely because Oneplus decided to exclude certain countries from the sale...
I'd rather buy this device than the Pro, but it looks like Oneplus forced consumers in most countries to either buy the Pro or switch brands.
Is this device destined to be a flop?
I mentioned this on the community forum and was slated for it. I deleted the thread in the end. It was as if I had insulted the 7pro users personally. So weird.
It totally baffles me how OnePlus have done this with the 7. Why invest in a phone and then basically just release it and be meh about it.
The 7 in my opinion is what OnePlus should be about. Solid, simple and a bloody good phone.
I hope they do give the 7 as much effort as they do with the pro or they may see sales drop.
I'm deeply concerned about this. I bought this device in day one thinking it would be a success, a lot of people talking about it... but no. I can't even find a decent english review video about it. No big youtuber is talking about it and the forums seems dead...
