I have rooted my phone and installed oxygen os, but now that cm12s is officially available I would like to move back to cyanogen. What is the best way to do it so that I get future OTA updates from cm.

i have been rooted for about a day now with a custom rom. i was wondering will i get OTA update for the custom rom or is there a app where i can manually check for the custom rom update. How does the updates work on custom roms. i know when i got the phone i notice in setting you can go to at&t software update and it checks for you.
Thx
I believe Clockwork has some ability to show the latest builds of certain roms but it requires you to launch it up and check manually. Alternatively, CyanogenMod has a notification feature that you can enable.
The easiest way is to just bookmark the forum thread of the mod you're using and check it periodically.

The at&t software update won't work for custom roms. In fact, I think most dev's disable that feature in their rom cause installing an AT&T ota update over your current setup might screw up the phone.
ROM Manager has a feature that will let you check for ota updates on your favorite custom rom...but thats only if the develepor is using that feature or even aware of it.
Mostly it's just bookmarking or subscribing to your favorite rom threads and check for updates manually.

Yes just use ROM manager, new updates appear there and lets you flash OTA just like an official update when its available.
If the Rom dev has it set up Rom manager will notify you as well. I remember last year I during thanksgiving dinner I had to excuse myself for a few minutes so I could see what goodies myn had been working on for another device I had.
Hi
I'm currently running CM13 unlocked bootloader and root.
I'd like to try android Pay and I believe the only way to do this is running stock.
Is that right?
If so, what's the best way to revert back to stock ? Ideally keeping twrp so I can go back to CM if needed.
Thanks
I recently installed LineageOS version 14.1-20170403-NIGHTLY-bacon on my oneplus one about two weeks ago. My phone gave me a notification saying there is a new nightly update.
If I download the new update will it automatically install?
I'm new to rooting and installing roms so it took me almost 6 hours to figure out the terminology and I don't want to do that again
Thanks guys take care!
Lineage OS supports OTA. Just download the ROM from the update app and then it will ask you if you want to install, it will run an Openrecovery script and all by itself update. Make sure you have twrp installed.
Settings>About>Lineage Updates
Really struggling to find a guide for this. When I got the device it had Oxygen os but OTA would throw it into a bootloop so I just want to know if I can convert it to the latest version and leave it there I guess.
Thanks

At the moment there is not a stable Oxygen OS option for this phone. Some have been successful but will need to wait for next update to see if it boot loops.
Currently I am on HOS and getting OTS updates with play store sideloaded. Plus keep the theme

I'm running HOS too and to be honest, my biggest problem is the quick toggle menu (when you hold power) only works some of the time. Other times it just won't connect to my smart devices. I have to switch my connection from wifi to cellular and vice versa
Android 12 Is out now. I got an update notification from the oxygen updater app.
How is updating from a rooted device? Is it the usual?
download, disable magiskmodules, install, magisk->flash to other partion, reboot?
regards
so xda is dead?
Haven't tried Android 12 yet, but was wondering if I should!
İ personally wouldn't recommend the update (android 12). The update isn't stable.
LineageOS 19.1 works fine. Used ADB and fastboot as recommended. Updates without hussle. Did try the Evolution X too, but couldn't handle the evolution menu well.
were you rooted?
