Does it stop charging once the battery hits 100%?
Is it good for the battery in the long run? (by that I mean a year as I anyways upgrade to the next flagship).

I'm not positive yet, but I do believe that it stops when it hits 100. I'm not sure if it will kick back on at some point, or not.
I have the pad and it turns off when it hits 100%, the light turns green and it shuts off. I'm unsure if it turns back on at some point but I picked up my phone in the morning and it was at 95% and the charger was off, so there's that.
Yeah, I've noticed my phone is never 100% when I pick it up in the morning after using wireless charging. I guess it shuts off and doesn't kick on. I wonder if an AutomateIt rule could fix this or if the charger pad itself needs to see the phone go away and come back.

Charging fault. Happened to me when my battery was way too hot.
Your phone is overheating.

Could also be faulty voltages coming from the charger.

So best course of action is simply un plug? I get this too during heavy gps usage or heavy streaming via flash.

Yea unplug and let it sit for a while. If you are in your car, best thing that I found you can do is hold the back of the phone up to an AC vent for a couple minutes. If you are home or somewhere with a charging port this I found worked.
ONLY TRY THIS IF YOUR BATTERY DOESN'T FEEL LIKE ITS OVERHEATING.
This happened to me about 2 weeks ago, phone said overheat but the battery and the whole phone was cool to the touch. What I did was turned the phone off, popped the battery out, plugged my phone in to the wall outlet, then popped the battery back in. Started to have the solid amber light that it was charging. After 20-30 minutes of that, booted the phone up and it charged like normal and said that temp was back to normal again. If you follow this and boot the phone up right after you pop the battery in, you will still get the charging error.
I have had the tablet and the dock battery's drain all the way while connected and with the tablet turned off. I do have the latest firmware for the tablet and the dock.
Has anyone else had this issue?
The battery dock still has draining issues, even while off. I'm not sure why your tablet drained as well -- perhaps the dock started to charge it and tablet turned on due to it? or maybe the tablet started to charge the dock while it was draining and ended up both being dead.
yeah Im really not sure what happened but I do know when I went to turn on the tablet it started up and only had about 13% battery left when it was fully charged when I turned it off.
Check your wireless disconnect policies, if its set to Never then that might explain why.

Im not sure where to check that.
OFF as in you held the power button until it asked if you wanted to shut off, or SLEEP, as in just tapped the power button (or lock button on the keyboard)?
The Lock key on the keyboard, or just tapping the power button puts the unit in SLEEP, which is not really sleeping, it just turns off the screen and depending on your wireless power policy, WiFi may still be on. Apps still run. Stuff still communicates with the interwebs.
off as in i held the power button and hit shut down.
Mine is doing it as well. Did a complete shutdown yesterday after fully charging both the pad and dock. Just turned it on and the dock is blinking orange. I also had the WiFi disabled. Even when you do a shutdown it seems something is not shutting down.

ASUS never said that they fix the dock battery drain issue while tablet is docked and powered off. Have they?

im not sure. At least i know its not just me.
I hope they push the update where we can see the battery live for the dock soon.
Mine is doing the same thing. Keyboard was charged when I closed the lid and then blinking 6 to 8 hrs later. Wasn't doing this with firmware .12 with the keyboard battery indicator. I really hope they bring back some of the .12 features soon.

My keyboard dock no longer seems to hold much if any charge, I left it charging yesterday until the keyboard dock light stopped flashing and stays on steady (I assume that means its full) and now 4 hours later the keyboard dock light is flashing and no longer charging the tablet.
if i recall, this is a known issue with the dock. When not in use, it will still drain the battery. If plugged into the tablet at the time, im pretty sure the tablet will drain also. I think asus is aware and i thought i saw somewhere that there will be a fix once 3.1 is out, that will put the dock into a very low power state when not in use.
so i guess we will see once 3.1 is out

I believe only Solid Green is full.
Interesting I've only when seen a solid orange light, perhaps that just means charging, will try again tonight.

Same issue. Had a fully charged dock and a partially charged Transformer.
Was very pleased to see the tablet start to charge when I docked it, and not so pleased when I got up in the morning and both were dead.

Leave it turned on then
Just for the record, I have the same issue. Dock battery drains really quickly when turned off and in sleep mode.

that might be a good idea it might not drain as fast!
Does it help if I leave the tablet and the dock disconnected when turned off?
ok, so I'm running faux's rom and I have run CM 7. I have tested this a few times and each rom and it seems to help improve battery life.
Since the drivers are screwy I noticed when I charged my phone it would say 100% but I would unplug it and it would drop down to 97% right away. I think the lower number is the accurate one, So the battery really isnt getting fully charged because the phone thinks it is so of course it will die sooner
So what I did was let it charge to 100% then unplugged it, it went down right away. I plugged it back in and it started charging again, in a few minutes it showed 100%, I unplugged and it showed 97%, so I kept repeating this then eventually I unplugged and it was 98%, then eventually 99%. After doing this my battery lasted a lot longer. I usually have keep an extra battery on me and usually have to switch but for the first time my g2x lasted the whole day! So give this a shot.. it could help if you suffer from really bad battery life.
Off topic.
Im From Southern California...be visiting New York on Monday. Good stuff...small world some times.
could unplug, then turn off, plug in and charge while off for a while, the unplug and turn on, then plug back in and let charge. then wipe batt stats and unplug. works for me.
I have one extra battery. I never charged my phone through the charger it came with. I always charge my battery with the portable charger. No doubt the portable charger takes 6-8 hours to fully charge my battery, but on the upside my battery lasts for more than a day.

I noticed a similar thing recently. I generally charge my phone overnight while I'm sleeping and use it for an alarm clock. One morning I decided to reboot my phone (my experience is that it needs a reboot every couple of days or various things stop working) before I got up, so I powered it down, still plugged into the charger. I then tried to power it on, but instead of the boot screen I got the device-off charging animation, indicating that it wasn't fully charged, even though it had said 100% before I powered it off. After letting it sit and charge while off for another hour or so, I booted it, and I think I got exceptionally long battery life that day (although my days are all so different it's hard to compare one to another).
I think bump charging does help, but its not good for your battery in the long run

well hopefully they fix the driver issues so we wont have to do it too much longer One can hope right? hahaha
Hi guys. I have a weird problem with my htc one x that started recently. I got it about a year ago but from like last week, it keeps on shutting down (not restarting) and then I have to wait a bit before I turn it back on. This is because if I turn it back on straightaway it starts to overheat and then turns off. When I manage to turn it back on it shuts down after a bit of usage. The only way it works properly is when it's connected to a charger which basically means its unusable. I'm thinking that maybe I just need to change the battery but since it will take some time and effort, I wanna get some opinions and be sure. Thanks in advance. The phone is on official stock and I've tried factory reset.
The fact that it doesnt overheat and shut down when plugged in leads me to believe its not the battery since the battery gets even hotter when plugged in. Also, since you are able to turn it back on, that means theres still a charge.

It does get extremely hot when it's plugged in and sometimes turns off but that's only when I'm using it for web browsing or something. If I'm not using it when it's plugged in that much then it's ok. And whenever I turn it on it keeps giving different battery readings. Sometimes it will say 80%. Then if I restart it it will say 30%. And sometimes it will have an exclamation mark where it's meant to say the battery reading :/
Hmm well you can certainly change the battery then. Have you taken this phone apart before? Be gentle or you could end up breaking the screen and also, you have to take the whole thing apart to change the battery wince the battery connects on the underside of the mainboard

I am wondering besides turning on the feature. How does it work? Does it take into account of other features turning on?
I read on OnePlus forum. So I tried it out last night. I put my phone on the wired charger at 5% battery @ 11:45PM. By 12:45AM ish it was already fully charged. My impression is that it slows down charging on overnight charge near the time I wake up.
Yes but I think you need to do it a few times so it learns when to charge that way. I could be wrong but that's how I understand it.

I could never get it to work either so I installed the GUI version of ACCA. It works perfectly. I have it set to charge up to 95% and then it'll discharge (if I have it plugged in) until 85% then it'll charge back up to 95%. I also have it set to turn the phone off at 15%.
