[Q] About boot animation - Android General

Hi guys. I have a Samsung GT-S7582 which has a carrier bootanimation or whatever you wanna call it. I want to remove it. I already have cwm recovery installed and it is rooted. The bootanimation files in /system/media are:
samsungbootloop.qmg
samsungboot.qmg
shutdown.qmg
I've tried downloading custom .qmg animation, renamed and moved them to the directory stated above, thereby overwriting the original .qmg files. Also tried simply moving the originals some place else then move the customized ones to the said directory.
The carrier's bootanimation is still showing, as well as the shutdown animation.
I also flashed a non-carrier stock ROM, but carrier animation is still there.
Does this mean the bootloader is locked? If it's locked, is there a way to unlock?

[Q] Having trouble setting up boot animations

I cannot for the life of me get custom boot animations to work. I'm rooted. using root explorer i've used every tutorial on the internet! i'm on an Motorola Milestone running GOT 2.2 rom.
I put the "bootanimation.zip" on my SD card, i then move it to system/BIN and replace my original boot animation. Reboot the phone and nothing. just about 10 seconds or so of the Motorola "M" logo. I've tried everything. putting the files in there unzipped. The only thing that looks a bit odd to me is that the original "bootanimation" file's icon is just a plain white icon. but when ever i move the new bootanimation file over it shows up as a zip file. this has to have something to do with it? i also screwed around with the permissions so that the new bootanimations permissions matched the old one. anyone have any idea what i'm doing wrong here?

[Q] Changing boot for obsidian 4.2 please help!

Hello all, this is my first post so please don't hit me to hard. I'll get right to it
I'm using a samsung vibrant and I'm currently using the obsidian 4.2 rom with the stock kernal.
Also using OCLF. Anyways I'm trying to change the boot animation that this rom uses and I can't seem to figure out how. the only files I can find in the /system/media file is a bunch of battery charge. Qmg files. No boot animation.zip files or anything. I do see the shut down png files but nothing else as far as the boot files. Is the file path for the startup boot different in this rom? I've tried moving files with managers, I've tried cmd commands but it all boils down to me not knowing where these boot animations should be pushed to. As of now its just the word android shining left to right a few times. No sound.

[Q] Installing custom boot animation on captivate running official froyo (KB1)

How do i install the boot animation found in this location http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-themes/54582-droid-x-boot-animation-blue-color-edited-me.html on my samsung captivate running official froyo (KB1). I have flashed the voodoo lagfix injected kernel too. Is the method of copying the bootanimation.zip to /system/media going to work? If it will work then i see two files under /system/media. one is called bootsamsung.qmg and another one called bootsamsungloop.qmg. if i paste the custom bootanimation.zip within this folder without removing these two .qmg files then what will happen? i will see two boot animations after at&t logo? or it will simply not work? Can someone please guide me on this?

it will either work, or you wont see the bootanimation.zip, but will instead see the standard boot....

[Q] custom boot animation from rom toolbox

I've been trying to load a custom boot animation from Rom toolbox. Not having any luck. It has an install option that doesn't seem to work. I've gone into system media file and there are no signs of any bootanimation.zip. I've copied the custom ba into the system bin and replaced the existing file with it and all I managed to do was get a black screen rather than the stock ba. As far as I can tell I have full r/w permissions. Am I going about it wrong or is Rom toolboxes boot animation not compatible with inspire?
Thanks

After replacing bootanimation.zip are you changing permissions to R/W, R, R? Don't know if it's necessary, but I always do it that way and have never had a problem.
If you don't see bootanimation.zip in /system/media/, do you see it in /system/customize/resource? If so, put it here
Youre the man. I didn't even think to look in there. Thank you

How to change the boot screen?(Remove Rogers Logo)

How to change the boot screen?(Remove Rogers Logo) Can anybody tells me??
Grab a boot animation, place it in /system/media/ depending on the kernel you are running it will have to he named either sanim.zip or bootanimation.zip
An easy way to get flashable boot animations is to go to UOT kitchen (google it)-upload proper frameworks, choose boot animation you want, make sure you choose the option for galaxy phones that way it will be flashed in the proper spot. Also under the file settings area check on the galaxy setting for update script. Basically if you have the option for phone type choose galaxy.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA
thanks so much!
Rogers logo question
My device from HTC has neither sanim.zip nor bootanimation.zip located in /system/media. Yet there is a Rogers logo on bootup. Does anybody know where it is coming from?
