Hello, I recently bought a Galaxy S6 after using my Nexus 4 for almost 2 and a half years, it was a trooper. One feature that I absolutely loved on my Nexus was that if my phone was not locked (does not require pin to enter phone) then it would skip the lockscreen entirely and go straight to what I was doing last. However on the Galaxy S6, If you put the phone to sleep, upon waking it up you are put back on the lockscreen, having to swipe up to enter. I still want my fingerprint to get me into the phone and for it to lock after a set amount of time but I want a way to go straight into the phone without the lock screen if the device is still unlocked while using a pin/fingerprint when it locks. Is there any way I can do this?

Something is definitely a bit funny here. I'm finding the same when using Smart Lock. I'm in a trusted place and I have swipe up on the lockscreen then use my fingerprint to get in. Surely it should be one or the other, preferably just swipe if its in a trusted place.

It's smart lock, don't think it's ready or works with fingerprint security S6 the moment...try it with a pin or pattern, and a trusted device.

Yep thats it. How annoying. Fingerprint sensor is one of the selling points. Guess I won't use smart lock for the time being.

I just switched from the original droid to the Droid 2 global, I rooted it and installed fission rom and I am loving it so far.
The only thing that really bugs me is I really like the pattern unlock feature when the screen goes off, on the original droid as soon as i pressed the screen on button i would get the pattern input screen, now on the droid 2 stock and after installing fission, i have to first go through the standard swipe across screen before I can put in the pattern to unlock...Is there any way to get rid of this? I cant be the only one who used the pattern unlock...
Ugh... I have the same issue. I HATE having to swipe and then do the pattern... Very annoying.
Waaah waah
This is off topic but why are so many people irritated by the swipe thing? All the ipod/iphone's have to be swiped an I see very few complaints tn those forums.

HAHAHAHAAHHA! Well I am crying over a minor issue.
My issue isn't with the swipe lock. It just sort of sucks to have to hit the swipe lock then do the pattern lock. Especially when all your buddies who have droid 1s or older android software only have to do the pattern. I work in an office with lots of lookylews who would go through your phone if they happened to find it unattended on your desk unlocked.
But I will say. This phone is still really tits. If it shocked me everytime to unlock it I would still keep using it. So the issue isn't that big for me.
Did you look in the location and security settings? There is a pattern unlock setting there in fission.

If I caught a coworker going through my phone without my permission, I'd have them fired.

You're missing the point. When you setup the pattern unlock, you have to slide the unlock bar to unlock your screen, then put in your pattern. He wants to turn his screen on, put in his pattern, and have his phone be unlocked.
Id also like to know if there is a bypass for the initial swype. I really need to use pattern or code lock but can't stand doing both. petty or not, is there a fix?

Anyone using this
I wanted to try it and found out you have to set a bu pin if face isn't recognized. Is there a safety issue with this as when flashing roms etc, the face unlock may get lost and the pin don't work. Or, is it pretty failsafe.
Also, thought I read somewhere about some issues with Chrome to Phone--had it working fine on N1. Is it running good on One S?
BTW video streaming to my Sony LED Bigscreen was flawless
I thought you lose these settings when flashing roms...

You are correct sir.
The 2ndary line of protection (pattern unlock, pin, etc.) is just for conditions where the face detection won't work. Try it in light situations that are not broad daylight and you will see that this is an obvious shortcoming of face unlock. There is no front flash, and if there was I would not like to be blinded by it so if it fails to detect your face / any face at all it will just ask for pin/pattern.
Appreciate the replies
I was going to play with it, but may pass it up. Don't need to lose unlock pin thru flashing and be stuck
Would like to get back to Chrome To Phone, but will research a little more on any issues--

I don't think you understand, if you flash a new ROM, face unlock and pin won't be activated, you will need to set it up again.

I understand that, thanks
Just concerned on odds of the pin being messed even if not by flashing rom, recovery or by anything else--OCD
Maybe that never happens--

Try Chrome Beta. It has Tab Syncing which is arguably better than Chrome 2 Phone because you don't even have to hit send.
I was using both successfully on my N1. Just had read some issues with the beta on the One S. Maybe just a few folks and no big issue. I will give it a shot and see. I have both on phone now, just haven't set them up yet.

I think your concern over the face lock is a bit misplaced.
1. Anytime you are installing a brand new ROM you should have done a full wipe of the device anyway which means you would have to re-setup your security features as these are not backed up in any way.
2. If the it cant get a face recognition it defaults to the basic android pattern or pin screen just like any other phone, it is not a special screen or lock. And, just like any other android phone if you forget your pattern or pin it is just going to prompt you to enter your gmail address and password to gain access after which it would have you redo your security options.
3. Worst case scenario: you are totally locked out and gmail address and password don't get you in....hard button reset and then restore from Titanium Backup. If you are flashing new roms I assume you are using this anyway.
did read about gmail password getting you in
haven't played with feature yet
appreciate info
Hey fellow Z3 owners .. First of all. I freaking love this phone..
I did a quick search but could not find how to enable nfc to read my nfc tags with the phone asleep..
It works great with the phone not asleep, meaning screen off and pattern unlock..
but once the screen goes off and locks the phone..it will not work even if I hit the power button and turn on the phone..
I need to unlock the phone in order to use the nfc.. I have the nfc on all the time and even try it without any of the power management setting..
Any help will be greatly appreciated ..thank you in advance ???

NFC won't work while screen is off because of security
:good:
Just to confirm, this is more of a Custom ROM feature. No OEM enables this due to security. Otherwise leaving tags everywhere could be a potential for malware or Google Wallet stealing.
e.g. the screen on = you're most likely aware of what's happening on the device.
trying to link my fingerprint to paypal I keep getting the message, we're having trouble confirming your fingerprint at the moment ,skip try again any help out work around's or is this a paypal issue any help most welcome and appreciated.

same problem here. same exact issue. ugh.

same here. i will try again after next paypal update.
Just got my phone yesterday. Having the same issue. Also, randomly when unlocking the phone with my fingerprint it will ask me for my pin instead. I assumed maybe my finger was sweaty or wet, but that's not the case because I can lock the screen immediately after putting in the pin and use my fingerprint and it unlocks. So what's up with that? I thought the pin was a backup just in case. I rather use my fingerprint all the time.
Same problem here, didn't have any issues with the galaxy s5 though, 2 steps forward 3 steps ?, with the s5 was a different way of scanning the prints and also it used the nok nok passport thing for what I don't know but I downloaded on the s7 to see if it helped but no luck... ?
It's definitely a PayPal issue. The fingerprint scanner doesn't even come up as an option even though you choose REMEMBER and Fingerprint when logging into websites through the stock Galaxy browser. I went to another site and it worked. So its PayPal. Hopefully they get it working. I don't know if it's a Marshmallow thing or working with the newly released device.
Is there a way to use the Razer Nabu X (the one without the screen) as a smart lock device in Android?
I have looked around and have found one person who says it's possible, but that is it.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900W8 running stock marshmallow.
Thanks
YES IT IS!!!!
It does seem to be possible. I got it to work by turning on airplane mode, then turning on just bluetooth and scanning for devices.
It then showed up as NabuX.
I will update as to how stable this is over the next few days.
