Wallpaper moving around? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, i have a really annoying issue on my Galaxy S6. If i set a custom wallpaper, you can see the Wallpaper move around a few pixels sometimes. It really annoys me, i couldn't find any setting to disable this "effect". The default wallpapers don't have this issue, only if i set a custom one.
Does anyone have an idea on how to disable this ? It makes me crazy

P.s. i found out that it is some kind of movement effect, the wallpaper moves when your phone moves, it gives some kind of 3d effect, but it is extremely annoying... Any ideas?

It's happening with me also. It seems to be interfering with the captive touch also. Causing a delay. I'll keep an eye on this thread for a result. please update if you find one.
Thanks,

It is the same exact thing on iOS.
The wallpaper moves a little bit depending on how the phone is tilted for that 3D effect.
No, I don't think you can disable it.

I have contacted the Samsung support, i hope they will provide an option to disable this effect with the next software update. I am sure, the more people complain about it, the faster they will add an option to disable this effect.
I mean it looks cool if you tilt the phone just to check this effect, but in everday use, it is extremely annoying.
You have to tilt the phone smoothly for the effect to look good, otherwise it sometimes even looks like the phone is lagging or something.

Chill guys there is an option for motion sensor wallpaper to get it turn off.. infact my motion moves sideways and sometimes it stops moving up and down.. and the option is in settings.wallpapper.motiin walpaper

Go to Settings-Wallpaper and Disable Wallpaper Motion Effect.

(REQ) Two finger roatate

How hard would it be to make a app that runs in the back round that works like the new ipod's touch screen rotation feature,
For those who don't known you place a finger and thumb at opposite ends in the corners so top left, bottom right, and twist right or left, and the screen rotates that direction in which you twist, i and im sure others will find this great to have, i normally have screen rotation off, but sometimes need it for messaging and internet etc.
as you can see in this little apple video here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZnSKvMP14A
Depends on the phone hardware...
But, in my opinion a useless feature. But then again a normally use the double tap to zoom on the browser.
Im not on about zooming, im on about rotating the screen, with out having to go back and turn it on and off from the home screen lol.

Did you even bother to read the OP or even the the thread's topic? He's talking about screen rotation not zooming.
I love how people declare ideas and apps as "useless" just because *they* wouldn't use it.

I'd like this feature too. I dont like switching rotation on and off, but i sometimes need too. Having it off, and use fingers to rotate would be a good solution.
Trouble in programming this is prolly that it is hard to not let it collide with other apps. (what if another app uses this multi-touch-gesture?) whitelisting apps is an option at this point in time, cause i dont know of very much apps that use this gesture, but they could become more popular with all the new multitouch devices out there

Maybe you misunderstood what he meant. The way I understand it, he only mentioned the zooming with double-tap to signal that he doesn't even use multi-touch to zoom within the browser; henceforth, he finds the idea of multi-touch rotation useless.
And to be totally honest, I find it useless too. The only reason the ipod nano has multi-touch rotation, that I can guess, is because they couldn't fit an accelerometer in such a small space and refused to change the dimensions. Either that, or just something else to cut their costs and make more of a profit.
Id love to see something like this. I too keep auto rotation off, but being able to rotate with a simple gesture would be awesome!

Did YOU even read my post?! I said why it might not work, then proceeded to post MY OPINION!
I could have said it worse like: Don't be lazy and leave it on and rotate the damn phone with your hand.
That ipod touch probably just does rotate by touch because it doesn't have an accelerometer to know when you've physically rotated the device.
Now a way of disabling accelerometer auto rotation would be nice for when I want to do something like read an eBook while laying on my side.
Actually, the iPod Touch DOES have an accelerometer, as does the new nano. The new nano uses its accelerometer to detect when you shake it for "shuffle on shake." WHy they couldn't use it to detect orientation of the iPod, I have no clue. But the iPod touch DOES do auto-rotate. I know this b/c my 1st gen touch does this for many of its apps (which I hardly use.... it's a glorified mac and apple tv remote now).
I think this could be a useful app. I don't like certain apps to rotate and as such turn auto-rotate on and off, but with auto-rotate off I sometimes wish I COULD rotate the screen in certain instances. Something like this would be pretty nice. It'd have to be light on the cpu though and not collide with other gestures (the only gesture I have seen on my Droid X that are multi-touch is the pinch-zoom.... all the other gestures are single touch ones) that are multi-touch.
I'd say go for developing this app. I'd be pretty cool PLUS you'd learn alot about how android handles gestures and such.
I would really like such a feature, iam actually working on an app/widget that turns the screen manually, because just sometimes you need it landscape but dont want to activate the auto-orientation...
I am with this idea 100%. I find the auto-rotate waaaay too sensitive & it rotates constantly when I don't want it to. So I turned mine off. But there are rare occasions when you want to rotate (like looking at pictures) and I have to go into a widget to turn it on & turn it back off after.
A manual rotate would be nice.
PS - A sensitivity thing for rotation would be nice too - ie, only rotate when you're 85 degrees + sideways instead of rotating with like a 15 degree tilt.
Mine will auto rotate at times (my g1 and iPod touch do this too btw) when I pull minor G's while driving (like hairpin u-turns or simply having fun in the curves ). Then again, these maneuvers are ones that can't be pulled in your generic automatic or road boat.

add my name to the list of people that would love to see this!
Hmm.. Would be a fun project to start learning android programming...
Now if only I had some time to spare...
This feature would be very useful, why?
- Auto-rotate : since it's called "auto", that means you can not control your screen with rotation. I usually lie on the bed and use the phone for reading, web browsing and I really don't want my screen from keeping rotating. You would say I should distable the auto-rotation, right? But I don't wanna keep doing that.
A manual gesture would be really nice and very USEFUL!
I think the sensitivity option would really be the best. Not saying I wouldn't use the finger way but I think the "auto" rotation should just work better.

My problems are that it is to slow and that when i am lying on my side surfing it auto rotates.
I am actually trying to find a way to switch it manually but all ways i try wont work

New Color and brightness app Screen Adjust

For those looking to have further adjustment to lower screen brightness values even lower and even adjust the color tones somewhat, I discovered a new free app in market called Screen adjuster
Not only can lower brightness all the way down to 0, but allows adjusting brightness contrast as well as red blue and green. It works great!
it is called screen adjust. Even has widget so you can preset a dark setting if you like and one press enables it.
I find this app extremely useful for night time reading where even with the night mode the white text is too bright.
That and while using my eee at night my wife always complains it's too bright.
i couldnĀ“t find the app. can you give me the download link please?
this is not a real screen adjustment, it runs *on top of the system* not only will it make your screen look like junk it will mak your homescreen scrolling laggy as hell, stay away

Actually screen filter runs on top. This actually really seems to darken it. I did notice lag one on home screen then home screen FC'd and after that it wokred fine. I sometimes get similar FC with out this app so not sure if it was to blame. All I know is I can now use my tablet in the dark without it being too bright.

I stand corrected it does run on top like screen filter. I tested during daytime and hadn't noticed. Either way it is another viable option.

Curious to know as well..
It'd be nice to be able to adjust the color saturation to make the GS 10.1
I made this app for educational purpose
Glad to hear if someone likes it
People with sgs2 like 'pseudo contrast'
I even didn't expect that it can be useful for someone ;0
Lags the tablet wouldnt reccomend this, example would be the scrolling of the home screen
On my SGS (and other smartphones) works great, but I try to look into what causes the problem on tablets
I like the initiative, good work!

possible explanation for screen issues?

this may not explain all screen issues, but it may explain the issue of the screen freezing and also the issue of it reacting on its own. i believe that this screen is highly sensitive. my current theory is that dirtiness and dullness cause screen lag. this can result in freezing, but i think more commonly what happens is for it to cause a delay in the screens responsiveness. so lets say you touch the screen and it doesnt respond right away. so you tap the screen again, and it does respond. but maybe its responding to the first time you touched it, and then you exit out of that screen or do something else, and forget that you touched the screen again. but the phone remembers and responds, and the phone does something odd, seemingly on its own. now remember this is just a theory of mine, and i am no expert on touchscreens. it just occurred to me that this could be a possibility, because i cleaned my screen really good and the screen seemed a good bit more responsive than usual. feel free to share your thoughts and opinions on this.
There are times when a greasy/wet touchscreen will misbehave, but I think the majority of our touchscreen problems stem from a buggy driver which tends to crash during low memory conditions.
yea i definitely think its just a buggy phone. wish it was as simple as keeping it clean, but i have these problems even when clean sometimes. its not a deal breaker though, at least not for me.
i just wish we could have custom lock screens or AOSP lock screen that wouldn't break the damn auto-rotate.
i know this is a different subject than my op, but i have a question. i converted several apps to system apps. two browsers, opera mobile and dolphin mini, dolphin to replace my stock browser and opera for desktop browsing, as well as a volume control app and a few others. i use an app called optimize android toolbox to clean my cache. before converting these apps to system, they all stored a cache. now, opera and dolphin dont. the volume control app still does though. i dont think its a problem, it just perplexes me. any possible explanation for this?

Ayoteddy got us the aosp lock and the puzzle lock, using it right now no prob.
sent from my....WAIT THIS ISNT MY PHONE?
When it's cold mine never responds.
I put a screen protector on my phone and I haven't had any touch screen problems since. Might just be a coincidence, though.
before i got this phone, i read a review that said only one android phone has a more functional lock screen than the sidekick. of course, that statement is based on phones with stock roms, but still, thats definitely saying something. i like the stock lockscreen a lot. i like the media room lockscreen widget. tried other music players with lockscreen widgets, but they take up the whole screen. then you have to exit the widget to unlock the screen. plus you can slide down to unlock or slide up to launch an app. thats pretty tight.
I'm not saying the stock lock screen isn't clever. It's really is quite cool... when it works.
So often I've had to struggle to unlock the phone because the screen was lagging badly. Or the home screen has come up for a second before the lock screen. This is especially a problem when text messages come in, and often result in my phone doing crazy crap in my pocket. Next time I pull it out I discover that it's gone to CNN, changed my brightness, turned on bluetooth, etc.

Wallpaper slow to load after unlocking?

Had my Z3 for a week now and absolutely love it, one thing that has been slightly annoying me though is that when I unlock the phone it will sometimes take half a second or so for the wallpaper to load, and it appear black before then. The video below probably demonstrates this better! I have tried different launchers, making sure the picture was in internal storage, using lower resolution pictures etc.
http://youtu.be/PwSRDej8drs
Has anyone else been experiencing this, or have any idea what it is? It looks like the nav buttons along the bottom also appear after a brief delay.
I also get a pop up saying "Ending Session" occasionally when I use Stamina mode, any ideas what this is?
The video looks normal to me, and looks like mine. If it's loading slower than that, then i'd be concerned.
The ending session bit I can't help with
---------- Post added at 10:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:46 AM ----------
After turning off animation in dev settings, the background does indeed take time to load and leaves a black screen for a split second.
I guess the animation is there to hide it.
Same thing here! I'm using nova prime.
Did it happen with all the other launcher you've tried as well?
Yeah it isn't too bad, you know what it is like when you get a new phone though, everything makes you worried that something is wrong!
It is incredibly smooth with the default Xperia live wallpaper, but it is like it is in the video using anything else.
Some people worry about the smallest things. Just look at the bigger pitcture and stop nitpicking issues.
Its happening on mine aa well. But i actually think this ia done on purpose. Doesnt annoy me as much as it used to though.
If u put the animations on 1x (instead of off) it seems to rectify the problem.
Same here on a Z1. That's actually pretty interesting, I'll follow this thread.

I think that the delay (black screen for a fraction of sec) is due to those glittery things when you swipe the screen to unlock as they also keep on going on the homescreen once the lockscreen is out of the way...you can see that if you use the xperia wallpapesr that come with the phone, if you use a different wallpaper the glitters don't overlay on the homescreen (ie the black screen)...
I have the delay as well just like yours, same using a 3rd party unlocker (I used widgetlocker, but it doesn't really stick as it's better using it with root) and with a 3rd party locker the black screen is on the locker as well as soon as you push the power button....if you use a 3rd party unlocker, go to settings/security/screen lock and set it to none....then you won't have the lag anymore!
On another note, you're using the stock locker right?! How did you set a live wallpaper as a background (or is that a static pic, the video is a bit short on your youtube link to be able to tell), I can't find a setting for it, also is it possible to add widget on the stock lockscreen?
I always root my xperia's phone right away usually (but since it's not possible at the moment without unlocking the bootloader and losing the DRM keys) and never use the stock home and lockscreen, always change them right away so I haven't found settings for the stock lockscreen (the only option that I have is to change the background wallpaper, not live wallpaper option though and no widget option either), I can see the clock is clickable on the lockscreen but no action that I can see...am I missing something here?!
Now that I think about it the best way to not have the lag would be to build a theme with the included wallpaper of your choice, I'll look into that, just got the phone, so still checking things up and not having root is making things a bit strange at the moment

Help with my oneplus 6t

So I can't explain what I did to cause this problem as it occurred while I was sleeping and apparently on top of my phone and the screen was not locked, so I hope someone will have some idea of what I did so I can undo it.
So when I woke up and looked at my screen the layout bounds were showing and anytime I touched on anything it was as if my phone screen were moving in slow motion. So I made my way to my developer options and turned off show layout bounds hoping it would fix everything, but all it did was fix that it still continued to move slow and still is a week later and it's driving me crazy. Like when I swipe to open my notification bar or my app drawer it very slowly slides out. It doesn't affect games or when I'm on an app only my phone settings and menus and screens. Anyone know what I may have done to cause this or know how to fix it?
