going from at&t to t mobile - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Thinking of trying t-mobiles service by taking my at&t note edge over to the t-mobile bring your own phone deal. Are there any settings I would have to change in the phone if I go to t-mobile?

I unlocked my at&t note edge. Installed a T-mobile sim card. Dosent seem to work all that great.

I know it's a month late response, but I did what you did and I have had it working for more than a few months.

Does T-Mobile work in Canada?

Hey Guys, I'm wondering if any of you have traveled to Canada with your T-Mobile Phone. I personally go to Toronto every year but last year when I went I was with Verizon and my phone did work, this is my first year with T-Mobile and can any of you tell me if T-Mobile works in Canada? Thank you.
I've heard that once I'm in Canada I can switch to the Rogers Network which is GSM via T-Mobile on my phone? Do I need to be Unlocked for that?

Your t-mobile phone will work perfectly fine. But, if you can get the phone unlocked, just pick up a prepaid sim card when you get there. Much much cheaper! Btw, while your up there, any calls that go to voicemail, you pay international roaming, even if you don't pick it up. Just a heads up.

Is it possible to use L710 S3 on Verizon?

I apologize ahead of time if this question is being asked in the wrong section. If so, please redirect me.
I mistakenly bought S3 L710 for Sprint even though I am currently under Verizon 2 year plan. The price on ebay was cheaper for the sprint version and I jumped on it without double checking. I have read online that the hardware is (essentially) the same and they both have 4G LTE technology. My question is whether it's possible to activate this phone on Verizon and then flash the Verizon's software.
PS: I have been reading this forum for a bit and it appears that some other people are trying to cheat with ESN/IMEI manipulation. I am not trying to do anything of the sort, all I am trying to do is activate a Sprint version phone of S3, that I paid full price for on ebay, on Verizon network.
Thanks in advance.
David
I want to know that too.I have sprint gs3 but i dont want sprint and waiting to flash it to Virgin Mobile but might flash to Verizon if i can use their 4g.
seeing as how the Sprint version does not have a SIM card slot (it's embedded), and all verizon LTE phones require an LTE SIM card, then no, you can't.

Oh so ever since Verizon got LTE now they got sims?So sprint is the only one that has cdma?
No, pure and simple.
If you use nefarious methods and spoof your ESN, you could get it to connect to VZW's network, but you would only have CDMA, since the LTE radios on Sprint and Verizon use completely different frequencies, and they can't be told to listen elsewhere.
Turn it back around on eBay and get (most) of your money back and put that toward the Verizon one. It's the only way it will work.

T-Mobile Galaxy Grand Prime on MetroPCS???

I currently have a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (SM-G530T) and I am planning on switching to MetroPCS' $40 plan.
I have tried searching Google with mixed answers.
Anybody know if I can switch to MetroPCS and get a SIM Card and use it in my T-Mobile phone?

You do know T-Mobile owns Metro PCS, right?
As long as it's SIM unlocked.
Yes I am aware T-Mobile owns MetroPCS that's why I asked because I tried my Family Mobile SIM in a MetroPCS phone I found and it didn't work at all yet there's a video on YouTube that shows MetroPCS working on a locked T-Mobile iPhone 5s although I don't think it was actually locked..
Turns out family mobile locked their phones now and i switched to cricket, gave that phone to my mom... Luckily it was one of the last fammo phones to work with a tmo card

unlocked S6 edge (us cellular) using with verizon

Upgraded my s5 to the s6 edge and i'm trying to get it on the network. The s5 has a large sim and the s6 has the micro sim so i couldn't just swap. Went to verizon. took the phones down and there system would not open up my new s6 phone. i checked online and the esn is not black listed but it also says no results found. the seller is trustworthy and said he unlocked it and used it on t-mobile for years, verizons plan was to have me bring in a phone that had a micro sim and would register. they would make a working sim. then switch them right back out.
What are your thoughts suggestions and ideas, i will be calling verizon again be 100 percent positive that if a friend brings down their verizon phone and does it for me that they wont have any issues at all.
I pay so much for this verizon unlimited that it really is a shame they cant get me fixed up, and switching plans is not an option. thanks everyone

Need to switch stock AT&T f/w over to T-Mobile

I was part of my sisters AT&T family plan and I had recently traded my S8+ in for the AT&T version of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra SM-N986U. Well sis got fed up with AT&T pricing and wanted to switch. So I was forced into paying off my phone & the 4 of us switched to T-Mobile . Me & my wife have our own plan and no longer part of my sisters. So after unlocking the phone the port went fine but I want to switch my f/w to T-mobiles. Will there be any problem in doing so?

If the phone is unlocked, you should be fine. Both use the same base firmware.
You may or may not get all the T-Mobile features. There is a fix for that if you don't get all the T-Mobile features, but it typically involves wiping/resetting your phone.

No doubt that is what I need to do. I just tried SamMoble stock USA T Mobile f/w with Android 11 using Odin & the phone still see's that it is a AT&T purchased phone at boot.

Did you have the T-Mobile SIM card in it?
If not, it will revert to it's initial build CSC. AT&T in this case.
The other option is to manually change your CSC from ATT to TMB. There are threads here on how to do it.

I guess since its a USA based Snapdragon I cant even root it. Yes I did have the T-Mobile SIM card in it. I have tried 2x with stock T-Mobile fw & it still thinks its AT&T. The working network does show T-Mobile, but I would like to get the AT&T f/w off of it. So I will research how to manually change your CSC.
