[Completed] [Q] How do I enable usb debugging with a broken touchscreen? (Alcatel Idol Mini) - XDA Assist

Unfortunately only part of my touch screen works and my phone is locked. Given my password, I'm unable to unlock it. I've looked online and the Alcatel Idol Mini doesn't support OTG. Any advice besides for opening the phone up and controlling it with a separate digitalizer? I'm hoping I could somehow enable it by flashing a rom without losing any data but I know next to nothing about flashing roms. Thanks
Also I learned a few lessons. I enabled USB debugging on my new phone, have all my contacts synced to my Google account, and setup automatic syncing of photos over WiFi.

Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist Unfortunatly Best way is to fix your screen by your local repair shop has its not easy to work when screen is broken and with no usb otg support
Good Luck !

[Completed] [Q] How to access your android's data with no display using pc?

My motorola g2's display s gone. I can't see anything. The problem is I had set a password as lock screen. Now i can't connect it to pc as it needs to be unlocked first in order for pc to detect it. & i can't unlock it as there is no display on phone. I will get it repaired but i don't want to lose the data on the phone they often reset phone while or after repairing. so my question is is there any way i can connect it to pc? or i have google account signed in in that so can i use it any way to get photos or access them on pc? or can i connect it to pc without using usb cable?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. A quick search allowed me to find this thread:

[Q] [Stock] [Lolipop] [Z2] HELP! Want to enable usb debugging. Broken screen

I have searched on how to enable usb debugging in the forums for a broken screen but most if not all of them are for other devices and require flashing a custom rom (although i have no idea how to do that CWM? Odin????). Is it possible to enable us debugging for a sony Z2 Device under these conditions?
1. Broken Screen (touch screen irresponsive)
2. Stock Rom, No recovery menu (tried power on and volume button and also tried flashtool with volume button hold and only black screen came out but i have no idea what i am doing actually)
3. NO usb debugging.
Another method i actually seen other people using is to use an usb mouse to connect to the phone. Will the phone automatically register the mouse or must there be some 3rd party enabled on it (which in this case seems useless already)
Any help will be deeply appreciated and thank you for your help in advance. Repairing will cost quite alot of money (enough to get a new decent phone) so i wanted to extract the data out of the phone before i get a new phone.
There is also something post by other members such as in this thread and with code. How can i enter the code into my phone..?

Remote control or external display for broken screen and digitizer

Hi everyone,
Sadly, I broke the screen and digitizer of my beloved OP3T :crying:
The bootloader is unlocked, android is rooted and I have TWRP as recovery.
Unfortunately, usb debugging is disabled as my banking application refused to work when it was enabled.
I don't plan to replace the screen as the A3010 as poor/non-existent 4G support here in europe, I didn't know that when I bought that phone
I would like to use the phone as a media player or home automation system through a DisplayLink adapter, but I have trouble to set it up blindly.
I tried to use this tool but I wasn't able to connect to the phone.
I think I manage to enable usb debugging with adb in twrp recovery but I'm not 100% sure. It keeps saying "state: rejected", I don't know if that means that usb debugging is disabled or that I need to approve my host PC (which I can't without the digitizer working)...
Plan B was to use a DisplayLink adapter...
I installed "DisplayLink Presenter" on my OP3T through the play store but It displays nothing on the external monitor.
Maybe I need to unlock the phone first? But I can't type the pin code without a digitizer...
I'm out of idea so your help would be very welcome :good:
Regards,
Cédric
TL;DR: Is it possible to install a USB > DisplayLink adapter on a phone with broken screen and digitizer?

Data Recovery Galaxy S7 with broken screen

Hey guys and gals, so my brother has broken his S7, the LCD and touch are gone, the phone still turns on and it can connect through usb no problem for backing up music and photos, but he needs his contacts, sms and call logs, something usually done with superbackup or similar apps, but obviously they aren't available,
I've tried the official Samsung apps like smart-switch, but they require me to click yes to a pop up on the screen which I obviously cant do, my idea was to use a USB OTG cable with a usb hub, plug in a mouse and use a home made USB A to USB A cable to connect it to the pc at the same time and click randomly to hopefully hit yes, but frankly that sounds so stupid and doesn't seem likely to work (but I will try it if I have no other option)
my next idea was to use one of the many data recovery apps, however despite what almost every page states, none of them support the S7, just the S6 and lower and a few of the tab and note devices, so at this point im out of ideas, the phone doesnt have Root or usb debugging enabled so no hopes of ADB or anything,
any ideas here?
Thanks guys!
Use SydeSync or app like visor (Chrome add-on) to cast your phone screen to PC.
If you needed to install these apps to your mobile phone, you can install them via google play store on PC.
When you connect your mobile phone to internet, it will automatically be installed to your mobile phone.
Then you can cast your screen to your PC.
Sorry, I did not read the last sentence you wrote "No USB Debugging enabled".
Sorry...
Seen this asked quite a few times, doesn't seem like many solutions, basically if it's deadly important, fix the screen
Contacts should be on contacts.google.com

Help Accessing Data on Screen Locked P20

Hi - wondering if anyone out there can think of a solutions to this...
So, my wife cracked her phone screen (Huawai P20) and bought a cheap phone to use short term while we worked out a replacement (Alcatel 1). When setting up the temporary phone, not all of the data from her P20 was install/copied, mainly because there's not enough storage space to hold it all.
Some of the data left on the P20 is really important (downloaded documents/files and pevious whatsapp history), so I was going to hook it up to a PC and grab all the data from it, but the biggest problem is she can't remember the unlock pattern. I know developer mode/USB debugging is not turned on, so I can't even get a PC/ADB to recognise it, plus I've had to connect it to a mouse and monitor (via HDMI/USB adapter) to even view/control the unlock screen.
I'm pretty sure that without the pattern we have little or no options, but was wondering if anyone knew the answers to the following:
Is there any way to unlock the phone using the old PIN that was set (she's confident she knows this)?
Is there a way to unlock using the finger print sensor (even though is says 'pattern required due to restart')
Should ADB list it as a device even though USB debigging is turned off and the phone is screen locked (currently does not list it, but I thought you could PIN unlock via ADB)
Does anyone know any other tools/options for accessiing the files on the phone.
Thanks is advance for any help!
Basically you can access Android's filesystem in ADB-mode or in MTP-mode: the latter should always be possible.
Even if USB Debuging is turned off and the screen is locked? Any tips on how to get the PC to see the device in MTP mode?
Thanks!
My wifey has a Huawei Y7 with HiSuite installed on Windows PC and HDB enabled on phone. As soon as she connects PC with phone over USB, confirms the verification code, phone gets mounted on PC as external USB-drive and thus visible in MTP-mode.
My guess is you have to take your Huawei to authorized service center and let them try to fix it.
Ah Ok. HiSuite asks for USB Debugging to be enabled first, which i can't do because it's locked. Thanks for you help anayway.
