I recently bought an Archos 50 Neon, it's a nice phone but with slight touchscreen delay (I hope you get what I mean by that).
I saw a firmware update for this phone but the link didn't work, NOT ANY link to a firmware update on the Archos website works! So my question is: Does anyone have a (custom) ROM or the file of the update. Oh and one more question: The update is only loading a update.zip file on the root of the phone, so if you can just name a costum ROM it update.zip should a custom ROM work without root? (this question has low priority)
Thanks For Your Help

Hey guys,
I just purchased a used Asus Transformer off of Ebay and it has arrived yesterday. I'm pretty much an Android noob but to my understanding the Asus has already been Rooted. From the description given on Ebay the device seems to have a Rom called Android Revolution HD (or something) What I want to know is how can I tell if my device has this Rom installed since it looks exactly like the Asus stock firmware? (Just in case this version is outdated or I want to change to a new Rom) I also see that this device also has a custom kernel ([email protected]) My question is, is it possible to return to the stock kernel of Honeycomb? Or is there any recommended kernels out there? Is it possible to flash a new kernel without affecting the Rom or Root? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for helping a noob out!
Did you buy it from someone else?
Wolfbreaks ROM with DoomLord Kernel = Awesome =)
Yeah I purchased off of someone else on Ebay. I did ask him to unroot and restore to factory settings which i thought he did since I'm not too familiar with Android. However after some reading last night I found out that the device was still rooted since it had the app Superuser. That's why i want to know how can i tell if the device is still running the Android Revolution HD Rom or not. Since I don't know if he removed it or not.
You can identify it at about phone or phones detail.. Theres a build number that state your rom
Wolfbreaks ROM with DoomLord Kernel = Awesome =)
Oh so the build number will indicate if it's a custom Rom or not?
Depends.. Usually itstated what rom you use..

Hello everyone, I'm not sure about which section to post this but, I have read the threads about rooting and going down the ''proper channel'' to root, SE says, if my Bootloader unlock allowed says 'NO', rooting can't be done. I just bought an Xperia Play800i and it says NO.
Is there any way to root it? Also, what is recommended first in your opinion > 1.(Unlock,Root,Flash) or 2.(Unlock,Flash,Root) or 3.(Root,Unlock,Flash).
Many thanks in advance.

sorry but in Samsung galaxy plus (i9001) where i can look to see that effectively is my custom rom installed?
Try going into settings and looking at device info. It may have what rom it is running in there. If not, I am not sure where else you could find that out.
Hello,
I am a new user of android devices and I am very excited I got one. Although it is not a popular one so I have some compatibility problems when it comes to flashing custom ROMS.
My tablet is an ICOO D70 Pro 2, which according to AnTuTu its a rk30sdk phone model and rockchip is the manufacturer. It has a dual core arm 7 1.6Ghz and a Mali 400 gpu. I recently installed CWM from playstore but it says it is an unsupported device.
First of all can I install any ROM on this device and if yes can I manually install CWM or use another tool instead?
Thanks in advance
P.S for any other info please ask me
Rossi
anyone?
Did I post this in a wrong place or no one knows/cares about this?

No you can only install rom's made for the device although this device is known by several names.... D70 Pro II, NATPC X2 etc.
You can't install CWM until we have a working update.img. I've provided a rom dump of the rooted rom here for someone with more knowledge to create an update.img: http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/42737-rom-dump-of-rooted-d70-pro-ii/
oh..

Oh, that is unfortunate Hopefully someone will give this a try....
So if someone manages to implement an update.zip and we have CWM on our devices, we will be only able to use cwm for backup and restore? not flashing other roms?
Sorry about my newbie questions.

Currently no other rom's but the ICOO factory image exist. If at some point in the future someone creates one for this model under any of it's names then you can either use CWM if it's available or use the pc flash program that comes with the ICOO factory image or possibly even be able to flash via sd card....all that will depend on the author of the rom.
Perhaps you should browse the slatedroid "unlisted rk3066 tablets" forum I linked to, to show the rom dump as it has more general information you probably want to know.

So, man, I'm trying to update my Razr HD to JB.
I am rooted on ICS, and plan on installing the JB service version I got from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095097
The thing is: as I haven't unlocked my bootloader, and would like to keep it that way, I've been trying to install the safestrap recovery I got from here: http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/downloads/safestrap/
But up till now, I've been receiving a FAILED message when installing the rom in the rom-slot-1.
Don't know where i'm going wrong. Any ideas? Or any other way I could install the ----- Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean - 98.21.6.XT925.Brasil.en.BR -----
Service Version?
Thanks!
not sure if voodoo root keeper will survive jb 4.1.2 , look into that , also I suggest to post here

Q&A for UPDATED 9/30 [ROM][P900][P900UEU1BNI2] Original Stock and Debloated Stock Variants
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for UPDATED 9/30 [ROM][P900][P900UEU1BNI2] Original Stock and Debloated Stock Variants. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

I do not feel completely confident it would work , not enough to tell you to take that risk.
Although they do appear to have the exact same hardware chip wise (the cpu/gpu are identical) I would need someone who is rooted on the 901 to check that the partition tables are identical to the sm-p900. The biggest one being that /boot is still mmcblk0p9. If /boot was set to the wrong block because they are slightly different you would end up with a bricked tablet, which would be awful. There is also the unknown of different parts in the firmware to account for the sm-p901 having 3g support while the sm-p900 is only wifi.

I think it will work, but you need to replace kernel (boot.img file) from your tab
edit: possibly not. I didnt find any libs with 3g support in p900 rom...

That was my other fear. It may flash onto it fine if the /boot is the same, but I have not seen any support for the 3g service part of it.
Will any firmware updates coming soon to this wonderful rom?
Can you add widgets to the lockscreen?
OTA and new kernal - Gatsrom's ROM
I have been using the debloated stock variation of Gatsrom's rom and love it. I also use Xposed framework. When Samsung pushes a new OTA I don't want it to screw up the Rom. Will the new OTA be blocked or is there something I need to do to block the OTA? Second question: there is discussion in the original thread about changing kernels. What is the benefit for a non-developer or non-heavy tweaker for changing kernels.
Great ROM!
Keith
Really need some help guys ive followed the install details and install twrp with odin.
Tired both roms and on reboot it just sits on the Samsung logo screen.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks, you saved me!
Gat, I rooted my None Pro 12.2 P-900. Then got Twerp up and running and put Cm 12 on. Did not like it and it was buggy. My Samsung tablet mouse and Samsung Blue tooth keyboard lost some functionality. Could not unmount flash drive which I use anew OTG cable to read the drive... leta just say I was not in a good place. Found your thread here on XDA and decided to download your Ron and flash. Had trouble the first few times, but finally am up and running thanks to you. The Cm 12 fried my 120gb micro sd, but that versus the thought of bricking this device is a small price to pay. I am out an sd but still have a functioning note pro. Cm 12 was an awful experience for a first time rooter and rom flasher. You saved me and I would like to personally thank you.
Sincerely,
Mr. Kelley aka Zenistao
Greetings to all!
I would like to ask about this STB which uses Android 4.2.2 by default and it's already rooted.
Is there any possible way to load Custom Recovery and Custom Rom instead of using this simple and not effective one already installed by factory?
I could ask on Infomir's help support forum but here i believe i could find better support.
Incase you want to help i refer on this model.
Hi !
I couldn`t find anything related to your device here on xda and most probably there is no custom rom available . For this it needs kernel and device sources which I`m afraid that aren`t available , sorry
Cheers !
No worries thanks for your time and reply!
