You can fix this by going into engineer mode.
Press *#*#3646633#*#* to open engineer mode. Then go to CDS information and then to Radio information.
Select phone 1 for 1st IMEI.
At the top of the command line type AT+EGMR=1,7,"IMEI"
(It should be your valid imei number within the quotes)
Then hit set command.
Similarly select phone 2 for the 2nd IMEI.
At the top of the command line type AT+EGMR=1,10,"IMEI 2"
Hit set commnad.
Reboot.
It worked well for my Micromax A91 and will work for any mediatek devices.

No IMEI after stock recovery

I have a moto e2 xt1521 handset and I tried to update my OS. In the process I wrongly typed "flashboot flash boot recovery.img" instead of "flashboot flash recovery recovery.img" and I was stuck in a bootloop. To recover out of it I decided to flash firmware XT1521_SURNIA_RETASIA_DS_6.0_MPI24.65-39_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip. I tried installing all the versions of firmware but I was never able to get an IMEI number on my phone. It shows "IMEI 0". I'm using Slim-surnia-6.0.1.build.2.1-STABLE-20170329-2049. I'm not able to make call or use any cellular services. After a reboot I get an error "Temporary error occurred: 44 ".
Any suggestions ?

Shared on telegram, thanks!
I'm not using qcn
not edl mode using
1. Flashing 7.8.23
2. 7.8.23 root ( patched_boot.img flashin using fastboot mode )
3. Usb diag mode on (dialler open trying or adb using su diag mode open )
4. Dualwriteimei using and restart phone aaaand booom imei restore (dualwriteimei is youtube searching only small size program and very very best )
5.Phone fastboot mode on and 8.1.10 rom flashing and booom
New telegram link:
https://t.me/joinchat/G1MMfkc6EbEZL-62Ii5YmA
thats not permanen, at last for me, maybe work on 7.8.23, but after update via ota or fastboot, after reboot or reset factory on setting imei unknow again
my solution right now, using custom rom, with august security and push modem file from latest stock rom for update baseband
It works, but if you want to update whole system, you have to backup partitions modemst1, modemst2 or EFS in TWRP, after you backup that, flash the new oreo firmware without data, if dont starts, recover the EFS and try again, if dont, do factory reset and if you haven't IMEI yet, restore de EFS, the problem here is, if you restart your EFS would be corrupted, so you have to restore the EFS and force update to the lastest update with EFS already installed, if youre lucky your EFS never be corrupted again
In my case everything is working fine
No issue upon updating or restoring
than so much raj bro 100% working method
I followed this procedure some time ago and haven't had issues. However today I flashed a new Oreo image and suddenly my IMEI was 0 again.
I restored my EFS partition using TWRP and now everything is fine again, except that my smallband version is back to 953_GEN_PACK-1.... which I think is the version that shipped with tissot_images_7.8.23_7.1. I wonder if it's a problem to run with an older smallband version?
Someone there who can help me fixing my IMEI? I have pushed the "flash_factory.bat"-button...
Mi A1 is working and rooted, no 30sec boot loop anymore, but QPST recognize my mobile just for secondes.
I'm holding my IMEIs in hand but unable to get them into QCN sinced days.
i was Restored persist.img via twrp terminal but my phone still restaring continously

Bro my telegram @Byramklc add me

While I did finally manage to restore my IMEI, I found your "guide" really confusing.
You should without a doubt write it better, so people might understand it better as well.
I've been doing custom Android stuff for around 10 years. While I have never developed anything, I have gotten as far as to the point to where I have had to edit files and input hex.
You should _really_ mention when and how you use the files you provided.
You should also provide the "how-to" on editing the files.
I finally got it to work, but I had to read three different guides before I got it.
Still.. Thanks
Can someone confirm that PSN and FSN will missing if using flash_factory ?? (FSN&PSN can be found on *#*#6484#*#* Version Information)
hello guys ,thanks for the guide, i've restored my imei but the mobile data network still wont work, what it can be?
EDIT: I've resolved by using a newer version of qpst software, the 2.7.472.4 one
I managed to get IMEI back wifi and bluetooth working but sim network lost.
Sent the mobile to service center and they changed the motherboard.
Is this the only solution.......
---------- Post added at 06:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:26 AM ----------
were you able to restore sim network as well???????
If yes pls write a complete guide with all the tools and files used

Recovering hardbricked phone from Qualcomm QS-Loader 9008 state [Z010DD/Z010D]

Since a lot of people flashed the wrong firmware (thanks to Asus for launching multiple devices under the same name ) on their Max, I've come across multiple threads here regarding Hardbricke and Qualcomm QD-loader 9008 state. I too have been a victim of the same issue and my phone was dead for around a year, before managing to get it to work again. I'm going to list out the procedure and relevant links here.
ps: I've tested this method on my Z010DD device. This should work with Z010D devices as well.
1. Download and install QPST from the link given https://androidmtk.com/download-qpst-flash-tool
2. Install Qualcomm drivers from here https://gsmusbdrivers.com/download/android-qualcomm-usb-driver/
3. Download the QFIL, QCN and RAW firmware for your device (Snapdragon 410 - MSM8916 and Snapdragon 615 - MSM8939) from here https://www.firmware27.com/2017/10/asus-zenfone-max-z010d-zc550kl-firmware.html and unzip both of them in separate directories
4. Open QFIL from the start menu and connect you dead phone to PC (Make sure your phone is detected as Qualcomm QD-Loader 9008. If not, uninstall Qualcomm drivers, reboot PC, reinstall and try again until you succeed)
5. Select 'Flat build' as Build type. Select prog_emmc_firehose_8936.mbn (or prog_emmc_firehose_8939.mbn) from the QFIL firmware directory as 'Programmer path'. Click on 'Load XML' and select 'rawprogram0.xml' and 'patch0.xml'.
6. Click on download and wait for the flashing process to complete ( takes some time. If you encounter sahara fail error, the uninstall and reinstall driers as stated in step 4)
7. Phone will reboot to service firmware (which is aosp and in chinese). Enable usb debugging and rebot to bootloader
8. Flash TWRP for your device and flash magisk
9. Reboot to fastboot and flash the files NON-HLOS.bin and NON-HLOS_IN.bin from your stock rom zip(available on Asus official Website) using command
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS_IN
10. Reboot to system and add your original imei using the tool here https://drive.google.com/open?id=1OBAp69EA4KGHdYXA5DrwMLCIuAqNYMu4
11. Reboot phone and reset your serial number as instructed below
Code:
You need to root your phone and download Terminal Emulator and type the following command:-
1. su
2. dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/factorybak of=/sdcard/factory
Wait a sec...
3. dd if=/sdcard/factory of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/factory
reboot
12. Verify serial number and IMEI are present in your device. If yes, open QFIL->Tools->QCN backup restore. Select the QCN file for your device downloaded in step 3 and restore.
13. The device should reboot. If it fails, try restoring again (took me 8 tries).
14. Your phone should be getting network signals now. If now, try QCN restore again
15. Flash RAW firmware for your device
16. Boot to stock rom, setup everything and verify if you are getting signal. If yes, congratulations:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
If any step so far failed and nothing is working for you, then you can revert to QD-Loader 9008 mode by using code
Code:
adb reboot edl
and start over from beginning
Nb: If you are not able to unlock bootloader after getting everything else working, verify if your serial number is present. It is the main reason unlocking is not working

hopes are going narrow. Now I don't know what to do.
Restore to normal mode from factory mode.
Thanks a lot for the detailed procedure. Restored my phone back to start. However my phone is stuck on factory mode and i'm unable to restore it back to normal mode. Also tried the Exit factory mode file given in the link of firmware download section. However whenver i try to write it with the help of QIFL it says sahara fail error and my phone's stuck in factory mode still. And also haven't been able to receive any network signal in the phone after inserting sim in the phone. Kindly help.

There is a tool which is used to switch from factory mode to normal mode. But QCN should be flashed and serial number should be restored before switching to normal mode. QCN restore is hard but it'll work in a few tries. Uninstall drivers and QFIL and retry. That's the only solution I can recommend

Hy guys!!! I have the 410 version but my windows won't detect Qualcomm QD-loader 9008 it detects it like Qualcomm QD-loader 9006.
Is there a way to fix this?

No working.
in the official rom ,modem meta can write imei in meta mode (that’s illusion), but reboot, new imei is working.
In the engineering rom, Same as above. It seems eng. rom for poco f3 gt is different from other Old phone, because other phone can write imei in the eng. rom,
But fastboot can erase nvram, then imei is a string of zeros, now imei can be changed successful, only imei slot 1

All in one, you can't make any changes to the original nvram and nvdata file, the file is protected, when you erase that, the system generates a new file that is cleared of zero, You can only modify the new file ,and the new file is unable to pass official rom boot detection
MOD ACTION:
Thread closed since discussions about changing IMEI are not permitted as it is illegal.
