hello
i've bought used moto g 2015 from spain.
the problem is that the device is locked with status code 0.
i've been trying to unlock it, but with no luck.
everything gives the error failed(remote failure)
recently i've used windroid toolkit to unlock bootloader and install twrp like in some tutorials, the app says it's done, but after i enter a recovery the phone hangs and boots again to fastboot.
any help will be appreciated
EDIT:
invoking "mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin" command gives the error too so i am unable of installing stock firmware too
EDIT2:
i've successfully installed stock package but there is still a problem - boot loop.
you need to flash stock rom to remove boot loop.
here is the link

I have already flashed the rom but now i think it could be a bad package. My phone is from spain and i installed before:
XT1541_OSPREY_ORAES_6.0_MPI24.65-33_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
now i'm downloading
XT1541_OSPREY_RETES_6.0_MPI24.65-33_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
is there any way to find out which package should i use for sure?
the last package i mentioned doesnt change anything. phone boots to bootloader not to system.
any news i have the same thing with my device everything was flashed but i get boot faillure ??
nothing... i'll get my money back i guess

I unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP, and rooted using SuperSU with no problem by following these directions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-root-install-t3301371
I then formatted data using TWRP wipe, then tried to install Stock Rooted No Encrypted Boot from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/development/rom-stock-rooted-encrypted-boot-t3303606
The phone never gets past "...unlocked...booting now...." (I did not install insecure_boot because I had trouble finding it---it is not in Mate 8 Android Development, only in Mate 8 Original Android Development.)
I can get to fastboot and to the Huawei recovery in Chinese (which doesn't work---wifi downloading stops with an exclamation point), but TWRP is gone, and I can't get it back by reflashing it. I've tried HiSuite recovery, unbricking using the Italian knife following these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/unbrick-updating-to-b321-t3375934
with various roms, and I've tried force flashing an UPDATE.APP from /sdcard/dload. No joy.
I caused the problem by installing a B331 rom when I was at B133—dyslexic much? Once I got TWRP back, flashing a B180 rom worked fine.
The difficulty was getting TWRP back. To do that, I flashed the following files using fastboot—it may be overkill:
TWRP-2.8.7.0-ENG.img,
insecure_boot_b331.img,
and the files in
L29Fastboot.rar.
TWRP
Hey ho!
I had exactly the same problem yesterday.
I figured out my system only was able to boot when I hold down [vol-]&[power].
Then the "not trusted message" had a few more lines and the phone booted up.
When it's up again, you can use adb to reboot to fastboot: adb reboot bootloader
You can also try to go directly to recovery if you alrteady flashed it: adb reboot recovery
From threre you can try again.
btw: I had to use a complete different TWRP version. 3.x somewhat. I think it was from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/development/recovery-twrp-huawei-mate-8-t3298567
Info: I was NOT able to use [vol+]&[power] for Recovery, eRecovery or anything else. I was just stuck.
I hope it helps.
I recommend after getting your device back on track to use twrp to make a recovery on your microsd card. That way u have a sure chance of getting bwck to working order
Same problem here, but when I try to flash recovery or boot image using fastboot, I get the message "FAILED <Remote: command not allowed> ".
Any idea?

Hi You have made a big mistake by using KingRoot to root your device.
now you have got some serious issues but they can be solved.
First You need to make full wipe of your device currently and need to flash stock firmware.
1.Back up all your important data.
2.wipe current os by formatting.
3.Install the stock ROM version which you got initially.
4.you will get your IMEI number back.
if you are not clear about above or if the above proceess doesnt help help I will suggest another method.

Hi bud .
I hope i can help u with this.kindly follow the instructions properly and u are good to go.
1) install proper usb drivers.
2) open command prompt
3)enable fastboot mode in ur device and connect it pc
4)type this command there.
If u are using mfastboot , then type
mfastboot.exe devices
If u are using fastboot
type
fastboot.devices
5) here ur device will be showed with some numbers. So now put twrp or any other recovery in fastboot folder or the location where u are accessing the fastboot from. Be sure u re named recovery to recovery.img
6)type these command after copying ur twrp to that folder
mfastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot.exe boot recovery.img
7) Now ur phone will automatically boot to recovery , here u can wipe data.
The bootloop is just because the data partition is still unwiped and no rom will boot . Just format data after booting the recovery .
Thank me if i helped you

Hi the command is "adb devices" not "fastboot.devices"
If you are fine with above author help you can proceed if not here is the detailed guide.
Firstly go to this link and download the stock ROM for your device.(the version previous than your current rom)
http://www.carbontesla.com/firmware...-ota-collection/huawei-honor-4c-firmware-ota/
Extract the zip and later extract update.app by using this tool
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
Now copy all the files namely recover.img,boot.img,system.img,cust.img into adb folder.
Now go to this link and unlock your bootloader
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-4c/how-to/huawei-honor-4c-index-troubleshooting-t3293110
After unlocking now do the following procedure.
1.Enable developer's options in your device.
2.move to adb folder and right click and click on open command prompt here.
3.Now type this command "adb devices" -Displays some id of your device which makes sure your device is connected.(accept prompt on device)
4.type this command " ADB reboot bootloader " or manually boot into fastboot by shutting down your phone and restart by pressing Power+ vol+ buttons.
5.Now you are in fastboot menu.If not try again.
6.now type the following commands
7. "adb devices" -Displays some id of your device which makes sure your device is connected.
8. "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" - Flashes stock recovery
9. "fastboot flash system system.img" - Replaces your custom rom with stock rom
10. "fastboot flash boot boot.img" - Flashes boot partition which is need to boot stock rom.
11. "fastboot flash cust cust.img"
Now wait for some time and your device will boot into system and your IMEI number is back.
Note:If in steps 8-11 if you can't get success use mfastboot instead of fastboot.

Update/Solved:
Currently the only way for people who deleted their OS completely in this phone model X00HD/ZC520KL is to restore the official firmware.
You can ask for a backup recovery folder in XDA Forums ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/zen...help?nocache=1) if you do not have made a backup with people who have the same phone model. You must have TWRP previously installed and bootloader unlocked. Flashing the official firmware via .zip files is not working with twrp, you must restore the folder. After having the files needed, your recovery folder will not appear on the RESTORE section so follow this simple tutorial to make it appear there (https://youtu.be/trlG3ZxwQxI)
This method will bring your phone back to life if you're stuck in TWRP Recovery Mode with "No OS installed". This method is working and it's the only way for you to use your phone again until developers create custom ROM's for this model.

Plus I also tried to delete the assert line in the uptader-script of the ROM you gave me the link after learning from a tutorial how to solve Error Number 7 and after that I got another error: Invalid Zip Format. I don't know what do to more, is this ROM link really compatible with my device? I need urgent help.

Thanks for the attention. I already tried tons of ROM's including the official one for this phone. I keep getting Error Number 7. Sometimes when I force an installation editing the uptader-script file it seems everything is working fine, but at the end of the ROM flash process the phone reboots and goes back to TWRP like everything had never happened. I have never seen a successful feedback, just the "Failed" message or a unexpected reboot that goes back to TWRP.
I don't know what do you mean with unlocking bootloader as I have no ROM installed and always I turn ON my phone I go to TWRP automatically. My TWRP version is 3.1.1.

Not working, as I said before, I've already tried to solve this Error. Either 3 things happen: the installation seems to be running good but at some point the device automatically reboots to it's original condition of TWRP (Liniage OS flash and after editing the file to solve Error Number 7 + I get a message saying "Invalid zip format" (Official Asus Firmware flash after editing the file to solve Error Number 7) + I get Error Number 7.

Hi @ANDROIDMASTER67, @pantarz I also break my phone ZC520KL ( X00HD ). It shows "no os installed" and "error 7" when I try to install a ROM.
Can you please help me fix my phone? If there is a backup that I can get please let me know.

Hi! My old phone is booting into fastboot mode, when I try to boot normally I get a black screen, the "Power off" button appears when I hold the power button. The bootloader is not unlocked and the phone was never rooted. Wiping the user partition does not help. It is visible in fastboot mode and I can enter stock recovery, though trying to adb sideload a stock rom returns an error (footer is wrong; signature verification failed). Trying to fastboot boot twrp or recovery.img doesn't work either. I've ran out of ideas, what should I do to get this phone to work?
Try flashing the stock ROM with fastboot. I'm pretty sure ADB doesn't let you flash onto your phone because using your phone with ADB means that it's still powered on - which can cause some issues. You can also try and unlock your bootloader through fastboot, and then flash a recovery and custom ROM.
Both failed. I attached the errors I recieved.

Try "fastboot bootloader unlock", maybe. Also: Is there a flashall.bat in the stock ROM folder? If there is: Connect your device while in fastboot, and double-click it.

Try this maybe. I know you can't wipe through the stock ROM, so, try the command: "fastboot -w". That'll wipe everything off the device.

I can wipe through stock recovery. I did fastboot -w and it cleared the cache and userdata partitions, they were already clean afaik. Typing fastboot bootloader unlock returns unknown command. There are no .bat files in my firmware. I can try downloading one from the site you linked, but I don't know what to do with it if fastboot flash does not work.

Try this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-osprey-fastboot-flashing-factory-firmware-images.3187750/
It says there that the "preflash validation failed" error occurs when the firmware being flashed is older than the one already installed. I will try downloading a newer version and flashing it. Will update here.
Update: I have dowloaded a newer rom and tried to flash it. This time got different errors (picture attached, this went for every sparsechunk). I think I know the reason but I do not know how to solve it. This might not be the exact stock rom of this phone so I cannot flash it with a locked bootloader. Could someone help me finding the correct rom or suggest a different solution?
Yooooo. I have the Moto e5 Cruise and so does my wife. We bought them in 2018 from Cricket and last night hers went to emmc failure, also known scientifically as 'no worky' mode.
The phone would only load in fastboot and had tried to use my Moto RSD tool to reflash but the phone would not detect in anything but fastboot mode.. Here's where it gets interesting....
There is a piece of software called the Lenovo (which now owns Moto) Rescue and Smart Assistant that can reflash your phone back to factory, no matter your sub-variant (cricket, metro, etc). Without having a fresh backup on hand, you're going to be beholden to the last cloud sync or manual backup you have because all data will be wiped in the below process.
BTW: Just run the assistant as it seems to be the easiest 'back-to-stock/working' tool I can find. Going to fastboot alone yielded weird errors since i didn't have the unlock code for the 'fastboot oem unlock [code goes here]' command.
**RESTORATION PROCESS**
This will apply to multiple Lenovo/Moto Mobility devices. Unknown at this time how many have been impacted by this seemingly pre-planned failure on Lenovo's part.
If your phone is stuck in fastboot mode where MTK download mode does not load, nor does adb, follow these simple steps:
(NOTE: BACKUP YOUR FILES IF POSSIBLE)
1. Click the link above to be directed to the Lenovo software download page and run the installer on your PC (Sorry Mac users :'().
2. The software, once installed, will require you to sign up for OR link a google, fb, g+, etc account to it for purposes of creating a Lenovo ID. Once signed in, click on 'Rescue Now'.
3. With your phone in fastboot mode, allow the software to download the firmware for your phone.
4. Once the firmware has finished downloading and validating, click on 'Rescue Now' once again. Your phone will begin the reflashing process.
That... actually worked. The program found the required ROM and flashing went without problems. Thank you very much @kmt5150 .
