3. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. CHECK THE MD5 SUM AS SOON AS YOU DOWNLOAD THE ROM
2. Make a FULL NANDROID Backup and Backup your EFS
3. Philz Recovery is my Recommended Recovery
4. You need to do a clean install!!! Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache, Wipe data/factory reset and Wipe System (In Philz recovery use the Following Options: Wipe Data/ Factory Reset/ Clean to Install a New Rom) and then Install Zip (from either external or internal SD depending on where you chose to save the Rom)
5. The installation process takes between 3-5 minutes. Let it do its job Also the 1st boot also takes 3-5 minutes. I would also recommend that before the initial setup, you dont do anything to your phone for 5 minutes... Let it settle and then proceed with the initial setup...
6. Reboot and Enjoy
7. IGNORE (that means CHOOSE NO if prompted to “to enable root” OR “disable stock flash recovery”). You have your custom recovery and the Rom is prerooted
NOTE: With Google Play Store there is a tiny bug. When you first log in it takes a long time to show any apps. You should long press the Home Button, clear recents, and exit Play Store. Then enter Play Store again and everything will be blazing fast!!!

Thanks my friend I began (but kept to myself) with the Note 2 but the big breakthrough came with the S4
However, the moment I saw the 4.3 leak I knew it was time to go back to where I began
It's a very decent leak imo (but let's not forget that it's still not Final)

yeah, from reading the other 4.3 threads there are a few glitches here and there, but nothing too serious. I really think, collectively, you ROM cooks will over time solve the majority of glitches and build in many of the N3 apps & mods to the point this leaked ROM will closely resemble Samsung's final official 4.3 release.

But it's a good novel, and it has a happy end

Just a couple of notes because users maybe wondering:
1. After flashing Echoe v1, I successfully downgraded to a custom version I created with the MG1 base (multiUI) and everything was fully functional
2. I initially flshed Echoe v1, from MG1 base without needing to flash anything stock, and everything was functional
3. My baseband remains MF1 and everything is still functional

What about the most disturbing knox? Is it removed from this rom?

of course my friend The hatred towards the knox bull#%$% is undescribable
Root and especially TB work FLAWLESSLY!!
I restored on purpose more than 100 apps from TB and i have no problems... In some like yahoo mail, fb you have to relogin again but that's normal...
Soooo, to answer your question, once again XDA 1000000- Samsung 0

If you are ALREADY ON Lollipop firmware (5.0):
You can use FlashFire if you wish, but this guide will focus on using SafeStrap
Download OptimalROM_*_BigBot96.zip to your SD Card
Download and install NI2 Kernel Flasher
Follow the guide in the OP of the APP thread with the below modifications to the instructions
[GUIDE] Safestrap access WITHOUT Odin
1. Download and install NI2Flasher.apk
2. Download and copy G900V_*_Stock_KERNEL_SafeStrap-Flashable.zip to sdcard.
3. Run NI2Flasher and select flash.
4. Grant root access for NI2flasher
5. After the app flashes the NI2 kernel tap the reboot button.
----This will reboot your device directly to Safestrap.
6. BACKUP YOUR CURRENT ROM!!!
7. Flash OptimalROM_*_BigBot96.zip
7. Do NOT forget to flash the G900V_*_Stock_KERNEL_SafeStrap-Flashable.zip afterwards.
----If you do forget you can always select recovery at the Safestrap splash screen.
8. Reboot system after flashing kernel
9. For extra toggles and FLASHLIGHT toggle: flash OR_Extra_toggles.zip located in the downloads section below.

IF HD CALLING IS NOT WORKING
HD Calling is working on my phone. It may not work on yours. Don't ask why, I don't know. Things to try:
Clean flash OG5 ODEX rom and ensure HD calling is activated and working. Then dirty flash OR15-1 DEODEX latest build.
You may have to reflash to NCG stock system. Activate HD Calling, reroot and upgrade directly to OG5.
Still not working? I don't know...

I'll see about compiling a list when I get home after work. But this does include quite a bit of Samsung, but only bare minimum of Verizon.

I'm not sure why everyone's speed is so low. I'm getting ~10MB/s right now on my home internet. Regardless, I'm awaiting approval from Android File Host.. until then, my server is the only option.
If anyone else wants to mirror, send me the link and I'll post it in the OP.

I downloaded it in 3 minutes, granted I do have a 105mbps speed at my house !!!

This Rom was a little project I started a few weeks ago. I've decided to share it. s some may know, the original ACHERON ROM is from my SGS4 CM based ROM. I'm slowly pulling CM/AOSP style, themes & mods into the TW based ROM. Mostly due to the locked bootloader. For that there are customizations that you, the user gets to decide as well. Seeing how there is no "perfect" ROM I try to let the user decide on themes, additional mods and remove what "you/they" want. Now saying that, this ROM is a bit debloated but still has most of the S5 features.
All I ask is you take it easy on me.....this is my first Verizon Phone. I'm a long time sprint user (just got sick of the network)

Make sure to be on the latest firmware With SafeStrap Recovery
Download ROM - Check the MD5 sum before continuing - Easier to re-download a bad zip first then to be stuck while flashing
Boot into Safestrap
Only tested on Stock ROM slot
Make a backup - I'm not kidding, its easier to restore a backup than to start fresh.
Wipe data - cache - dalvik cache - system (x2)
Install ROM
reboot to download mode and flash the correct Firmware (NK2 firmware)

Still stock theme for now. But wanam kit you can change to your liking.

Development Temporarily Discontinued
I'm sad to say that I will be discontinuing the development of JoelDroid S5.
The main reason is, that I have become bit more preoccupied with my personal life and priorities.
The second reason is that I have switched back to Kitkat (XXU1ANJ1), just couldn't stand the Lollipop colors and white background and the lack of Xposed framework. Since I wont be updating my device back to Lollipop there is no point me just putting up releases without testing.
but mainly I have more personal commitments and less time to develop these.
I had a wonderful time here in this thread, and thanks for all the feedback and kind words.
[UPDATE] I will be back when Stock 5.1.1 is available for Galaxy S5

Your phone needs to be rooted and should have a custom recovery
As far as recoveries go, I highly recommend TWRP use the following link to get the latest TWRP for S5 and use it with the above method.
Take a Nandroid backup, better be safe than sorry.
Take an EFS Backup using wanam's EFS Backup App
Copy your EFS backup for safe keeping.
Copy ROM to sd-card and boot to recovery and flash, after flashing DO NOT reboot, but power off.
Press vol down + home + power and reboot into download mode and install the provided bootloader and modem, flashing the modem is optional but your current modem has to be a lollipop modem or else you wont get a signal. But flashing the given bootloader IS A MUST, without the necessary bootloader the ROM will not boot, see post #4 for detailed Odin flash instructions.

less, as I said all features built in by samsung works, only their services and unwanted apps are removed. I will post a detailed removed apps list but today im sleepy and tired. I will include this tomorrow

I have included a list of removed apps. I'm stuck with some work. I will upload an aroma installer to install whatever removed.
For the list of removed items please see the 1st post.
Also as of now there will be no mods, and whatever mods you need to install xposed framework. I'm not wasting my time as this is the initial release. But when Lollipop comes our way (hopefully in December) there will be lots of Mods and tweaks as Xposed will take some time to materialize.

1. put rom on internal or external sd card
2. Use Odin and flash VZW_BOC4_RETAIL_FIRMWARE_ONLY.tar.md5 Make sure it is the retail firmware and not just the kernel
3. When done flashing Reboot back to download (May have to pull battery If running 4.4 Rom then Hold Power:Volume Down:Home Button) use Odin and flash NI2_stock_kernel.tar.md5 This will allow you to enter SafeStrap
4. Enter SafeStrap flash rom, when finished enter reboot menu in SafeStrap and reboot to download mode
5. Use Odin and flash VZW_BOC4_RETAIL_KERNEL_ONLY.tar.md5
6. You can stay on BOC4 firmware even if going back to a BOA8 Rom

Here is my dark it up theme for BOC4 Rom I kept it simple to minimize the black on black There is no framework modifications. I also used the layers overlay theme. Just use the layers manager and goto the Theme_Layers folder on the Internal Sd card and Apply a theme layer. Only one layer can be applied per apk. for example you can only use one layer theme for SecSettings. Then you can use one Layer theme for SystemUI and then for SecContacts and keyboard etc. ZIp also fixes SD Card write and Battery cover pop ups

When you say this version of the rom what do you mean . Just follow the instructions in post one

Meaning the OC4 ROM you just uploaded. Does the new ROM have to be flashed or can I stay on your previous OA8 ROM and flash just the new OC4 kernel and firmware. I will follow the steps in your OP, just figured I'd ask. Others may have this question as well. Thanks again.

Well you can stay on BOA8 rom the BOC4 firmware will not benefit you except the modem might give you some benefits but thats it.

Can you make to use MODS of VZW BOA8 - VZW_BOA8_MODS_V1.zip ? This is gread MODS , of this MODS I was able to change the system language to my own. If there is a way to make work on this new ROM - BOC4, I would be very grateful.

Yes

runs great and battery life seems to be killer compared to the 4.4.4. rom i was just on. Wakelock detector shows such a significantly smaller percentage of the phone being held awake its amazing, like 85% on 4.4.4 to 12% on this. TOP WORK!!!!!
alot of the first lollipop builds had battery life complaints so they or you must have tweaked it quite a bit

Its completely stock other than the tethering mod and fixed private mode and feature and build.prop mods So the warnings are still there. I will release some mods soon
