My opera browser which is my main browser for so many reasons has freezed since 2 weeks now & no longer works. This has happened previously on my galaxy note 2 & my galaxy S2. The only solution being uninstalling & reinstalling which makes me lose my bookmarks and saved pages....right now, that is not a solution as the data is more than 500mb already and am gonna lose much & I just cant, Please is there any other option of making it work

I have a peculiar problem and i guess, from google search results, that many others have similar problem.
I am using Samsung Galaxy S 2 mobile phone.
Of late, the default Browser application on my samsung galaxy s2 just keeps coming up with the standard "Web page not available" page when I try to connect to any website.
I generally use default browser to access the web and this used to work perfectly. Of late it has developed this problem. I then tried Dolphine, Miren, Skyfire and this also did the same!
All other applications are fine and can connect to the internet perfectly well. Only In browser, which was downloaded prior to this problem, works fine.
So it seems like something is amiss with my settings / files that the default Browser, Dolphin and Skyfire use.
Any ideas?

Lately my dolphin browser has been acting up after the last update. First after viewing about 5 webpages I lose my search/address bar up top. It just disappears. Usually it will appear if I hit the menu button or scroll up but now it's just gone. Even after using bookmarks it doesn't appear again. I have to close the browser completely and reload it to access it again.
Then yesterday I was replying to someone on a forum and had to edit something earlier in my reply and then I was unable to scroll down to my last would. I tried using the copy and paste arrows to scroll down but even they weren't working.
Just seems like the last update broke some things for me. I backed up the newer version before I realized it and lost my old one. This happen to anyone else.
I am having the same problem with the url bar as well.

I am frequently losing the Dolphin url/search bar and window tabs using the latest JB roms. Also, clicking on some links is failing to bring me to the link page. May have to go back to Firefox.

I switched to chrome, still have Dolphin but find myself rarely using it, ever since Google rolled out tab syncing I have stuck with chrome
I just switched from chrome to dolphin. The scrolling on chrome and zooming still choppy but the syncing is nice
I have chrome too but just always preferred dolphin. Love the bookmarks bar. I do tend to switch browses every so often though just because I have like 4.
I'm using boat browser. It works pretty good.

I used to use Boat Browser and I loved it but after an update, it went silly so I transitioned to Dolphin. What's interesting is I'm a new S3 user, coming from a Droid X2 and the same problems I'm reading about here, are the same problems I have been experiencing with my DX2.
I think perhaps I'll not re-download Dolphin this time around.
Well, I guess I you can count me in as someone who's been loosing the tabs a lot the last week or so (might be more). Usually opening any link on the current page in a new tab works to bring them back, but it's still quite annoying.
This is in a Galaxy S3 with JB.
- Stupid question maybe, but did anyone bother reporting this to the devs?
Is there a smartphone (any OS) that can hold 20+ (or at least more than 5) tabs in a web browser at the same time, so that you can switch between them instantly, land at the same position and without a tab having to be redrawn from cache (even when you come back after a long time or even a reboot)? I think I've read somewhere, that on Android this is not possible, but I was thinking that it might be with 3gb of Ram like in a Galaxy S6.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
What you ask depends on the browser and what resources the device makes available. Many current Android devices can certainly handle 5+ tabs with most any common browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.). That said, a reboot, by definition, will always force you to reload data, on any device. The Samsung Galaxy S6 has plenty of power but so do many other phone models made in the past several years. If you want to discuss the matter, try starting a thread in the "General" Forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general where other members will have a chance to reply.
Good luck!
I had the original Google Pixel XL running Android 10. I upgraded a few days ago to a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 + because the battery on the Pixel was dying. I was going to fix it myself but a lot of posts I read regarding replacing the battery I saw people mentioning how it took them around 3 hours, and how a lot of them broke the screen. A new screen costs around $125 on eBay or more last I looked. The battery was only $15 or so. But I didn't want to risk breaking the screen, plus I kind of already wanted something different anyways.
The Note 10 + is running Android 9 where the Pixel is on 10.
Neither are rooted.
I was wondering if someone could recommend some apps so I can copy my apps + data (if possible) to the Note.
I have my apps and stuff backed up on the Google account...
So should I factory reset the note and sign into my Google account?
Like will that bring the data back.. or just the apps themselves without the data?
Because I want things to be as close as to where I left off as possible.
I don't want to have to re-login to everything, or re-setup the preferences / settings for each app.
Moving my pictures and music and all that isn't a problem.
I just need help moving apps, but not sure if I can move the data as well since neither phone is rooted.
Thanks in advance for those that take the time to help, happy holidays!
any ideas please?
All I can tell you is moving from am Essential PH-1 to a Pixel 3XL, letting Google to the setup as designed worked pretty well. You still have to transfer files/photos yourself.
But unless both devices are rooted and you can use something like TiBu to restore user apps data (never system), you may not be able to avoid having to log back into accounts.
I logged back into all accounts but now the issue is I have a few browser tabs with firefox that I'd like to have sent to my new phone.. and I don't want to do it one by one. If I just sign into firefox account on new drvice would that copy them to both... because I would hate to factory reset my old phone and lose my open tabs.
Because since they were created/opened on my old phone I'm not sure how to send those tabs to the new phone?

Firefox has a bookmarks service. Create a folder for all of the current tabs then bookmark them. Then log into the service on both devices.

All I can say is.. thank. you. so. much! This took minimal effort and was exactly what I wanted! Out of all the shortcuts I know I was unaware you could select multiple tabs and do things with them lol
