UNOFFICIAL nightly of CM11 3/20/2015 - AT&T LG G3

I was hoping for an M13 of CM11 as the 1/5/2015 nightly is not quite up to par. I'm not ready for CM12 yet, and I know there are others in my situation. I decided to take a crack at building CM myself, but that was problematic. Thanks to the generosity of timmytim, with his help I got my CM11 build working for the d850 and was able to build an unofficial nightly for 3/20. I have been running this for about a week now and it's been solid for me. So far, I haven't seen the kernel crash on wifi hotspot that the 1/5/15 nightly had. I don't expect demand to be terribly high, so I've put it on my dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/s/a7u5ry0fr400ypg/cm-11-20150320-UNOFFICIAL-d850.zip?dl=0

How could you not be ready for cm12? I know this question seems off topic but you brought it up.

well, I depend on my phone being fully functional and cm12 is still in alpha/early beta? There isn't even a stable build yet. I also depend on Xposed which is also alpha for ART.

Thank you! Downloading!

How is this ROM working for folks? I had too many issues with Lollipop... especially in the phone seriously overheating.
Had to have it repaired by LG under warranty.
Would I be better just to remove the bloatware or use this ROM instead?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

My phone gets hot on all aosp ROMs. Running a stock based lollipop and it doesn't over heat any more. How long did it take for you to get your phone back?

I sent it to the Ft. Worth service center last Monday the 18th. They received it around 11:20AM on Wednesday the 20th.
Received an email Friday evening the 22nd it was finished and had a FedEx tracking number.
This was around 6:18 PM, but FedEx won't be able to pick it up until tomorrow because of weekend and holiday. Should see it on Wednesday.
BTW, I was running CM12.1, which stock based Lollipop are you running?
Thanks!

data not work for me. any solution?

cm10 soon?

i know we had a thread and everything reguarding this and the p990 (2x), however the changelog on BBQLog has the p999 G2x actually implemented into the menu for devices. this is good news for us that have been waiting patiently !!
click LGE and its there offically
http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#
Was it not there before? And I wouldn't get too excited, the Optimus One is listed there also and I HIGHLY doubt that is going to get official CM10
I believe that's still the cm7 changelog.
It just says cm10
It wasn't there before. When the 2x got close it was there. It wasn't there a couple days ago, that's for sure.
Perhaps for cm7, even if it is for a nightly once a month.

It is certainly new look at the log dates there is work being done today also the work has been done every few hours apart.
No, no and no.
The entry in the BBQLog has been there for quite some time.
If you knew how it worked, you'd also know that all of those changes are generic and have absolutely jack squat to do with the p999.
Try selecting a different, unrelated device if you don't believe me. You'll see the same changes. Maybe more as other devices have cm10 changes checked in.
None of the changes I see on BBQLog say anything about the p999 getting cm10.
My money is on "ain't gonna happen". If it was going to happen, we'd have heard something by now from Ricardo or others. The fact that there's been silence basically tells me that there's a huge roadblock and nobody wants to take the heat for coming out publicly and killing off the G2X's last hope.
EDIT: If I'm wrong, I'll eat a sock.
EDIT 2: Okay, no sock. But I'll eat my words.

I take the silence to mean that no one has really given it a go yet. I think if there was a huge roadblock, they wouldn't keep that a secret. Just today someone posted an unrelated G2X comment on one of RC's G+ posts... If he had tried and didn't think he could get it to work, I think he would have let us know, at least to shut us up a little bit.

That's not necessarily the case. Letting people know this device is hopeless could also cause more people to bug him.
This speculation is unwarranted anyhow. I am however curious to why there hasn't been an update on CM10 for us. I do think that likely there was an unexpected encountered problem like the call bug issue on the O2x and still persisting WiFi drain.
And I have two other devices running a full working CM10, and besides the working camera and better battery life, they really aren't that different in terms of fluidity. If RC releases a ported CM10 for us it will likely still have most of the same issues.
We just have to patient. I mean, I don't have the money to buy another device, so I have no choice. If you have had the opportunity to jump ship... why *Haven't* you already? It's been nearly a full year since LG dropped this phone from support and we found out Nvidia won't share drivers, and some of you are still here complaining?

Never think you understand what an angry programmer will do. They are not like regular people and won't feel at home on earth until the mothership picks them up.
Since ics official for p990 gonna come shortly, I guess latest we get what we want is sometime after source drop.
Beyond that I can't comment on what I don't know. I won't be buying an lg product for two reasons now though.

Allow me to play devils advocate....
I don't see anything wrong with people just wanting an update. Even a plain "yes we will eventually get to the p999" just so people are not waiting in vain. That would probably put out a lot of the repetitive "When are we getting cm10" questions. A lot of people are patiently waiting for an update, or a word, or anything and it would be nice to know for sure that something will be done eventually. Right now it just comes across as the project is dead in the water.
I am not bagging on the developers btw. They are awesome because they do this stuff for free and on their spare time, but it would only take a minute to put the word out, if it's a go or not. Just saying...

The moment they say "No", the mass exodus would begin. I wish they'd just come out and say "No" so that this subforum would quiet down.
The p990 just got dropped again from CM support, so doubt we'll get it.
Does RC know that the G2x is also experiencing the bug sound? Maybe some one can port it over to check. It's the only thing holding it back from being Stable.

The P990 won't get CM10 properly working until the ICS source drops for the phone. Luckily there have been rom leaks, but who knows how long it's going to take LG.
And then IF they get the sources we MIGHT get a fully working CM build.
Don't hold your breath guys, a lot of stars have to line up before we'll get anything.

[Q] CM11 vs. 4.4.2 stock?

I just bought a Nexus 5 and I was wondering which is better: CM11 nightlies or just having rooted stock FW ..
Which one is faster? (bootup time, app launch times, smoothness)
And am I really missing any features when staying stock?
This http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46344624
It's really up to you to decide which is better. Cm will probably have more bugs than stock but maybe they're ok for you

I flashed just about everything and settled on stock. cm11, purity ROM, sanity, slim, you name it. Stock with xposed is great. On any custom ROM, I lost LTE and still don't know why. Gravitybox is just about the same as running a custom ROM, too.

I dont see much of a point in owning a nexus if you are just gonna throw Cyanogenmod on it.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
I would probably stick with stock if I didn't require voice+ app by cyanogenmod. Until hangouts come with full Google voice number support sticking with CM11.
CM11 really isn't that buggy with current nightly, it's incredibly stable. Also the fact that it's a continuous work in progress is plus. You never know when stock gets updates.
Other than that I would use paranoid android when that comes out or pacman.

Or like any other Android phone. Almost every major Android phone has Cyanogenmod ported to it. I don't personally understand the appeal of buying a Nexus phone to then throw on the same custom rom that you could run on literally any other Android phone. I guess if you are off contract and absolutely love Cyanogenmod for some insane reason. . . . .
As said on a non nexus the cyanogen team really shine, to be honest I'm loving cataclysm ROM at the minute. Close to stock but has just enough customisations for me

You're talking about 2-3 days here. If that worried about it, go back to stock until CM updates. That's what I did for 4.4.3. I was already in bootloader flashing the new modem, so figured I'd just flash the rest.

Some stuff for the lt02ltespr

Hi. I figured I'd start this thread here and work from it until things are farther along and more legit. I just got the Sprint Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 a few days ago and now I have CM-11.0 booting on it. NOW MUCH WORKS YES RADIOS. THERE IS NO NFC SUPPORT!!! and BT works, audio works mostly. So, consider this just a nice little preview you can flash to see Cid on your tablet. Don't post bug reports and get all crazy please. I don't post much because I don't have time to respond very often. The link I'm providing is a generic link for now, but I'll post specific links IN THE THREAD for builds with new fixes and some info about the builds. Also at that link is a CWMR image for v6.0.4.7. Everything works fine on it. I've been testing it for a couple days. So, to recap: CM/CWMR for lt02ltespr ONLY.
http://www.oudhitsquad.com/android/?dir=Samsung/lt02ltespr
You might notice a carbon directory in there. This device WILL become an official CarbonRom device ASAP, but for now that dir is empty.
PLEASE NOTE: I don't do mods/kernels etc. I don't have time. If I do release something like that it's because I'm sharing something I'm working on for personal use and might not support it properly.
It's nice to be here. I hope there are some users who will enjoy this stuff. Cheers and OUT!
UPDATE 4/8/14: Today's updates are stripped of all NFC and FM radio stuff since the device has not HW for them. Also, I've been looking into getting USB host mode working so there's been some, but not full success there. I removed geomagneticd so the Google Maps app acts more like it usually does, but I think I like the compass effect we had going. Dual band wifi is more stable and both radios show up on boot for me. I checked BT audio yesterday in my car with a third party BT audio device and it worked, so now I can really be a road hazard. Not much else is fixed.
New builds will be here:

Way to prove me wrong. Love it when that happens lol. Running it now, seems nice, few graphical issues but nothing so bad its not usable as my DD. Can't wait to see what the future holds for this ROM/Device. Though IMO anything without TouchWiz is a step in the right direction.
Thanks again, and I'll keep you informed on any issues I find and am able to replicate.
I think I swapped the adreno drivers from the s4 mini... Spread the word, its coming.
Would you mind if I made a thread in the development section with links to this thread and the ROM? Of course you'd be getting the credit and all, I just think it would get noticed more there.

Am I right in assuming this is for the sprint version of the Tab 3? I currently have the t210 device and would love to see CM on it! Very new to Samsung. Only had the device a couple of days!
Yeah it is, but after its a little more stable I might decide to start porting it out to the other Tab 3 models. This is just an alpha build still and is far from ready. But if you could find a CM for T210 I may be able to hack-port it over. It wouldn't be the most stable thing out there but it would be a start similar to this ROM

I think you're being a bit harsh to the guy tbh, he was just trying to provide a service, if he had actually mentioned @legolas93 then I bet you wouldn't have slated him?
Anyway, good work @LiquidSmokeX64 with providing your service. I'm still sticking to my own conversion (Edit: Using @legolas93 Convert to F2FS) but I still think yours is as important as anyone else's on here. However please just remember to give thanks if the work is not entirely your own. (Edit: Noted that @LiquidSmokeX64 has now edited his first post).

I think you're being a bit harsh to the guy tbh, he was just trying to provide a service, if he had actually mentioned @legolas93 then I bet you wouldn't have slated him?
Anyway, good work @LiquidSmokeX64 with providing your service. I'm still sticking to my own conversion but I still think yours is as important as anyone else's on here. However please just remember to give thanks if the work is not entirely your own.
Thanks,
TS

Well, yeah, it probably sounded harsher than I wanted. I'm sorry, I mean no disrespect and wish to support people who actively participate in Android development. On the other hand, I still don't think this work is original enough to justify its own thread. Anyway, mentioning @legolas93 in the OP and perhaps adding a message encouraging people to buy his app would be appropriate here.
To end this on a more friendly note, please, don't stop developing and bring us something awesome
I edited the post to encourage buying the app and am going to be intentionally late with the nightlies as well.
As far as development goes. I'd like to get into it again but I only know how to edit a few things in the build.prop, and updater script.
Besides that adding a few apps is no big deal lol.
I'd like to actually figure out the good stuff but sadly have no clue how to go about learning that stuff. I'm just a regular guy trying to do what I can for the community where I think I can be of some use.

And if @typhoonscotland would be willing.... I would greatly appreciate your knowledge on how to do the conversion myself if you would be willing to share said knowledge to help me in my quest for a better ROM for everyone

Well if I can't get a way to convert from my computer using some OS this thread may be dead before it even gets going...
Dropped my N7 off a roof... needless to say it didn't survive. But if something can get figured out I'll still build for this device even without my own lol.
OK. Back up and running. Found a tool i can use on windows to do this. Have credited accordingly, for this is almost no work on my part besides the thread.
So sweet deal. I'm open to suggestions for a better kernel if needed.
So what kernel does this new method use? I'm really curious, just can't see for myself
Hey. I have a whole new ROM I've been working on (for Jewel). Pure CM. With an incredible Aroma Installer. No need for Gapps either. Just was looking to see if I should build it for Grouper and place it here. Any takers?

Ok ROM is finally out of hiding. Soon as AFH stops being weird and not letting me upload for some reason I will have it up.
Prepare for some nice advanced features here . The folks in EVO 4G LTE seem to enjoy it so far. Last release before project rename had 56 DLs in a couple days with only one complaint that got fixed this time around.
Edit:
it'll be up tomorrow...

Well give me a few hours ok man. I had to remove Gapps and that process has been giving me issues. But UNITYROM-RELEASE-3-jewel is up, and im starting the crossover process for the other devices now. Nexus 5 is still uploading, and Nexus 7 is next. Just hang in there. I think you'll be pleasantly suprised with my work.

It may have been a bad upload. I had some issues that day it seems. But if I had more info on the error I can try to get it fixed up real quick. I'm sure it's something easy. But I am building blind (no device).
I just checked It. Yes it was a bad upload the sizes were wrong. I'm reuploading now and will verify its the right size this time
OK thanks

Lollipop is "coming soon"

How soon is really the question..
My question is why no one has uploaded a international 5.0 rom for us. I know a few countries have it

Because it would be an extremely difficult and time consuming job due to the kernel would need to be made pretty much from scratch

Well i'm going will sooner rather than later as there is a implied "hang on to your hats" rather than the usual "we'll release it when we have confirmed to ourselves that it will meet the needs of the network" type statement.
Yeah me 2 I think next week or 2 weeks the latest. Hoping it gets uploaded to xda as soon as its available also.
I got it !!! I'm kidding haha

I cant wait. I've tried a couple of the 5.0 ROMs, but nothing works super smoothly yet. I'm excited to hear that stock Lollipop is coming soon. Of course we will need someone to get it and modify it and bump it so that we don't have to flash the stock upgrade which might make rooting and bumping harder. This will also really help the 5.0 ROM developers since they should be able to take the base kernel from AT&T and make their ROMS run even smoother.

Like this ?
I'm not picky, but I hope it's more than 5.0. Android is already on 5.0.2. which fixes a lot of bugs.
