I need help with my nexus 5 . I turn it on, it boots and reaches the Welcome screen (factory reset applied) but as soon as I touch the screen to set up the phone the screen just turns off. I would keep hitting power button & sometimes the screen would turn on but inmediatelly would turn off by it self.
I can enter Recovery with no problems. I already installed stock 4.4 kitkat & 5.0.1 lollipop from Google´s factory images but keep getting same result.
Any help would be kindly appreciated.

In having the same issue, I can boot to recovery without hassle but once I try to boot the system the screen turns off as soon as I touch it in the middle. I can use the drop down bar on the top but if I click the screen it just goes off.
Please help.
PD: RMA is not an option since I live in the carribean & I bought phone 2nd handed.

Hi all !!! Sorry for my English but I need your help
I commented what is happening with my phone N5 (which for good and evil is always stock without root or anything, with corresponding OTA updates.)
1- Yesterday afternoon at lunchtime while reading a book in playbooks, I notice that suddenly disappears one line and then appeared intermittently. I close the app and noticed the same thing happening on the screen menu. I shut down the cell and turn on again and I thought it must be an application be kidding. But still does.
2 Also yesterday I happened to change the security on the phone screen. After a while of normal operation, try to turn it on the screen with the button, nothing, the screen goes "black", with light and retrolight turned on but no picture no nothing .
Called the cell to see if it works or is turned off and the phone rings but the screen nothing. Try turning it off and on again by holding the on / off / lock button and the phone restarts, but the screen nothing. In one such attempt to do the above it is seen that managed to turn it off. And I get it on and do a normal boot, except that the picture of my screen is changed to the original. Change the lock screen which was previously using (slip). And it seemed that out or some conflict with the lock. In one of those again pressed the ON / OFF / lock as would normally and it starts all over again.
After I magically back to life, I want to make a full wipe as I think it should be an app that is doing some conflict or something. BUT ....
3I turn off the phone and then press the keys VOLUME UP / DOWN and ON / OFF is normally off, squeezed the first screen with the options but options RECOVERY / BOOTLOADER appears in red I choose RECOVERY give the ok with the key and .... andriod robot appears with the legend below that says something (I do not remember well) without or without controls options appears. So its seems thatI dont have recovery.
After that keep pressing the key ON / OFF and the phone turns off and / or reboot normally. All this I did it again to see if the error reappears and looks that I do not have recovery.
The failure of the screen is increasing. I dont know if they are separate problems or is it all the same problem.
Sorry if I was too long but I need the help of you.
UPDATE Now it seems that the screen died, since I do not achieve to turn it on as before, the light and the retrolight its ok. The phone receives calls and notifications but the screen stills black.

sometimes things just "derp". itll happen more often if you dont reboot your phone often. also, your phone will be a little bit more responsive if it gets reboot once a day or two.
RMA or fastboot it back to stock, if the screen doesnt turn on afterwards then it looks like a hardware issue, open device and reconnect the display.

Ok so i have my sisters samsung galaxy tab4 ( sm-t230nu ) which she brought to me today.
Her screen went black, lights up and all but it stays black in color. Up down volume buttons work and u can hear them working, power button works, turns screen on and off, TOUCH SCREEN WORKS, on certain areas u can hear the noise it makes when u tap on the screen and apps. I pressed the power button alone for it to restart, it restarts but does not show samsung tab logo or anything at all just lit up black screen. I even went on YouTube to memorize the hard reset sequence of buttons u have to press in order to complete the reset and i did manage to hard reset. But screen is still booting up on a lit black screen. I removed the back cover, unplugged the battery and tried booting it up and still nothing. BTW its full factory, no root roms or anything of the sort. I need help on what could be the problem. Only thing i believe might have caused this was a recent update on the system. My sister sais a few days ago it gave her a notification about it and she clicked on yes. I dont know what version of android it had nor which it had updated to. Please help. Tablet is not that old. I have a very strange behaviour happened to my nexus 5 after upgrade to android 6.
When my phone is unlocked and screen on, every around 30 sec my phone will show an empty message box like the image 1 below

it will cause the screen which already at dim stage (normal dim screen before screen turn off) to turn back on again (like the screen has received touch input) thus the screen will not turn off if i don't intentionally press power button to turn off screen.
I find that the message box is similar like in the image 2 below

It's very annoying because the empty message box keep showing whenever i use my phone. And if i forget to press power button to turn off the screen, the screen will stays on cause battery drained very fast. I still can use my phone normally tough
it happen both on stock ROM and cyanogenmod ROM (I'm using "12.0-20150202-NIGHTLY-hammerhead") but it doesn't happen when the phone on recovery mode.
My current phone setup :
Nexus 5
ROM : Cyanogenmode 12.0-20150202-NIGHTLY-hammerhead
Recovery : twrp-2.8.7.1
Anybody know what cause the behaviour and how to fix it?

I've recently been struggling with a problem with my Galaxy S6 and I've searched far and wide on the interwebs for a solution, with no avail.
You see, whenever I turn my phone on, or wake it up from the lock screen, the screen flickers one or two times, but doesn't always turn on.
They keys are active, touchscreen is active, but no image.
Sometimes I have to try and unlock my screen two or three times to get an image, sometimes it turns on after the first flicker.

I am not rooted, everything is stock FW, I had android 6 stock and recently upgraded to 7 stock OTA and the same issue persists.
I cannot access download mode or recovery because the screen won't turn on. Only time it turns on is when Android is booted. Even when booting, the blue led flashes because the device is booting but I have no image.
Please contribute with some ideas, I cannot wipe cache from recovery because I can't see anything even if I try to boot recovery (or download).

Did you resolve this issue? If so, how? Mine started to do the same after a short fall. My initial thought was hardware but I can get into recovery and the screen functions just fine there.
Hello I have a problem and I hope you can help me I have a motorcycle 3 turbo and I had it working with a custom rom and I had it with the screen loose but it was good, then I do not know how the screen moved and I wanted to accommodate it and suddenly I raised and lowered the intensity of brightness until in the main picture you could see at the same time the applications drawer looked like a ghost on the screen and suddenly it turned off I wanted to turn it on and nothing that turned on when I wanted to turn on it was very hot I took it with a technician and said that it was the screen that fixed the image but the cell was restarted every minute I wanted to enter the recovery but it was black screen and it would not let me enter the recovery and install the official stock rom and follow the reboots, now install a custom rom and I have to have an active application in the background to block the screen does not restart the cell phone because if I do not have an activated application the cell phone goes back to reboot someone could I help you how to resove it please? thank you for your attention
