[Completed] VZW Note 2 Bricked - Fix it, or replace it? (Suggestions) - XDA Assist

I bricked my Galaxy Note 2 trying to root it. It was at version 4.1.2, and I was using CASUAL. It's now stuck trying to boot up the "Samsung Galaxy Note 2" screen just repeating over and over again. I tried flashing it with Odin, and it fails to write to NAND during boot.img. So, I'm wondering what my play is at this point.
I'm flashing to stock 4.1.2 with Odin 3.07. I've tried different USB cables, different ports, different versions of Odin. I've tried it with the battery in, with the battery out. I've tried accessing recovery mode (I can't). I've tried restarting my computer, updating Samsung Drivers, installing Kies, and just about every other suggested troubleshooting tip I could find, with no success. So, I'm pretty sure it's a paperweight now.
I can upgrade my phone and get something new, but with all the talk of locked boot loaders, and bounties for root, I'm not sure what I'd even get. I was considering an HTC M8 since they're free w/ 2 yr right now, but if I can't mess with custom roms down the line, or won't be able to root it, I feel like I'm back to being stuck on iOS. So, can somebody suggest a good upgrade to the Note 2 that won't be a total pain to mod? Or, even better, a fix for a bricked SCH-i605 Galaxy Note 2 on Verizon that can't enter recovery mode, or successfully flash with Odin?
Thanks.

[Q] Bricked phone, need help unbricking. (System software not authorized....etc.)

So, I've done this before, and I've never bricked a device until now.
I tried installing a custom rom for my Galaxy S3 on Verizon, but when I restarted, it says this:
System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help.
I can't get into clockwork, or any bootloader. Any attempt to do anything brings this screen up.
Now, I can get into the Odin downloader. (Power, volume down and home). But, I can't figure out how to get a Rom to load. This is where I am stuck. I have downloaded a few roms, all stock, but none of them want to be recognized. I have no idea where to go. I've been downloading stuff for 5 hrs and nothing has worked, so now Im going to the forumns. Any help is appreciated.
I have the Verizon i-535 Galaxy SIII.
You did not brick your phone you failed to unlock your bootloader. There are 2 guides in the android dev section for rooting.

Odin back to stock and next time after rooting make sure to use EZUnlock 1.2 to unlock the bootloader BEFORE loading a ROM

[Completed] [Q] [d2att] No ROM booting up

So, I bought this at&t Galaxy S3 with leaked UCUEMJ2 (I assume) then I tried factory resetting it. It didn't boot up after the at&t logo. I tried flashing stock 4.1.1 which was risky but odin failed in it. I also tried reflashing UCUEMJ2 and Cyanogenmod, both stucked on the starting logo. Downloading mode shows something like Warranty bit:1 with red letters which is related to knox, I suppose. Please help, I just want my phone to work no matter which rom.

[Completed] [Q] After boot and samsung logo black screen. S3 SGH-I747M Kodoo Canada

I'm out of Ideas, please help me.
Here is my info:
Samsung galaxy s3 sgh-i747m from kodoo Canada. I had installed cyanogenmod through their installer over a year ago. I have been using it with my rogers sim with no problems. Less than 2 weeks ago my screen randomly goes black. I try pulling the battery. The samsung logo appears but then back to black but I can hear everything is working. I Try and boot into recovery and everything is black. I boot into download mode and everything looks fine. I try reinstalling cyanogenmod and then Samsung stock through kies and smart switch and every stock kodoo file I can find .
There is one of two things that happen.
If I install a stock below 4.4.2 I get fail in Odin 3.07 and this on download mode:
Odin Mode
Product Name: SGH-I747M
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Qualcomm secureboot: Enable
Warranty Bit: 1
Bootloader AP SWREV: 2
SW REV Check Fail : Fused 2 Binary 1
If I install a stock rom with 4.4.2 or install from Smart Switch
Everything proceeds perfectly but upon reset I see the samsung logo and then nothing just a black screen with the chime in the background. Still can't boot into recovery. I only see the recovery in blue in the upper left corner but then nothing.
I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks for the reply R_a_z_v_a_n.
The [HOW TO GUIDE] How To Unbrick AT&T I747 and I747M After 4.3 OTA states from the beggining: thus far this method will not work for any of your 4.4.2 ota bricks if you flashed the 4.4.2 modem on the mjb bootloader, the only way to fix those bricks is with a new emmc, motherboard or a new phone. Jtag won't save you this time the phone is now a glorious paperweight.
I believe I'm on 4.4.2. because those are the only roms I am able to successfully install but then of course the screen goes black. So if that is the case, does it mean my phone is done? just a paperweight as the article says?
I'm wondering if I should try anyways or is there a sure way to get my phone running from 4.4.2.?
Thanks for the help, look forward to your answer.
