[Q] Samsung Galaxy S Recovery - Please help!

Hi guys,
I am new to the forum and in need of considerable help.
I have a Tmobile Galaxy S 4g (not the SII). I had previously upgrade the phone to gingerbread 2.3.6, but last night I was trying to root it again to do a lag fix.
Unfortunately, I think I used the wrong root file - I used something for Galaxy S GT-19000. Now, whenever I try to start the phone it just switches back and forth from the Tmobile Galaxy S screen to the Galaxy S GT-19000.
I used ODIN to root it, and now I desperately need to return it to factory settings. Can anyone help?
I tried looking for original factory firmware, but I can only find it for the Galaxy SII. Would that even work?
Thanks - I would appreciate any help I can get!

[Completed] VZW Note 2 Bricked - Fix it, or replace it? (Suggestions)

I bricked my Galaxy Note 2 trying to root it. It was at version 4.1.2, and I was using CASUAL. It's now stuck trying to boot up the "Samsung Galaxy Note 2" screen just repeating over and over again. I tried flashing it with Odin, and it fails to write to NAND during boot.img. So, I'm wondering what my play is at this point.
I'm flashing to stock 4.1.2 with Odin 3.07. I've tried different USB cables, different ports, different versions of Odin. I've tried it with the battery in, with the battery out. I've tried accessing recovery mode (I can't). I've tried restarting my computer, updating Samsung Drivers, installing Kies, and just about every other suggested troubleshooting tip I could find, with no success. So, I'm pretty sure it's a paperweight now.
I can upgrade my phone and get something new, but with all the talk of locked boot loaders, and bounties for root, I'm not sure what I'd even get. I was considering an HTC M8 since they're free w/ 2 yr right now, but if I can't mess with custom roms down the line, or won't be able to root it, I feel like I'm back to being stuck on iOS. So, can somebody suggest a good upgrade to the Note 2 that won't be a total pain to mod? Or, even better, a fix for a bricked SCH-i605 Galaxy Note 2 on Verizon that can't enter recovery mode, or successfully flash with Odin?
Thanks.

Help rooting Samsung Galaxy sky SM s320vl

Okay I'm a newbie at this. I'm a pro at windows computers but I've only been messing around with Android for about a year. So when I bought this phone it was from straight talk slash TracFone it is unlocked. I bought it to use with SafeLink service. Anyway so I bought it as a Samsung Galaxy sky SM s320vl but whenever I do a hard reboot here is the info it gives me
MMB29M/S320VLUDU3AQF2
Samsung/ j3ltetfnvzw
the firmware that I found on chain fire says s320vludu2apj3
Again when I bought my phone I did not buy it as a J-3 it was just advertised as Samsung Galaxy sky sms320vl but when I logged in to Google the first time with this phone Google recognized it as a J-3 2016 model so is that what this phone actually is and do I use this firmware that I found on Chainfire? Also am I going to have to use windows with the Odin tool to do this? I'm not trying to do any thing special just the phone so I can go in and uninstall apps that I don't want Samsung App stuff like that so I'm not trying to flash the phone with a special package I just want to root it. Sorry for the long post I just want it to be clear what kind of phone I have and what firmware I need for it. Also, to root the phone I just need a firmware file, the windows drivers and the odin tool correct? Thanks a lot for your reading this post I really appreciate it.
