[Completed] [Q] My phone keeps restarting showing logo for 2 seconds - XDA Assist

M having karbonn a6, it was rooted nd cwm was installed.
My brother accidentally deleted google services,
Now phone keeps restarting when i put in battery, it shows company logo nd then a symbol in which phone is kept out of box with an arrow key pointed towards it.
I am not able to boot into recovery with power key + volume up combination. by pressing that combo, phone screen goes black for 5-6 seconds then again restarts itself.
Also i am not able to install fastboot or adb drivers in pc because of frequent restarts.
Does it seem that the phone is permanently bricked, service centre is also not able to solve this issue.
Please help me find a way out of this.
Thanx in advance

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. So you took the phone to a service centre and they said they can't help you?

Yeah they are also not able to figure out the problem. Do you think its permanently bricked ??

Well if you can't get it to stop restarting it's going to be very difficult to fix it. Honestly though, the repair centre you took it to don't sound very competent, can you take it somewhere else? Or maybe contact the manufacturer.
Transmitted via Bacon

Yeah i also think that service centre guy dont seem capable of doing this stuff. I will try contacting service centre in other city. Anyways thanks for your help

[Q] Fully bricked LGP500H

Hello XDA, today, I was attempting to install a firmware via KDZ software update, when my phone suddenly turned off. When i tried to turn it back on, it was entirely unresponsive. I can not get it into emergency mode (ironic) nor can i get it into recovery. I tried removing all power sources but that didn't work either. I have all of my drivers installed as well. Does any one have any tips? Maybe boiling it?
Boiling.
Hopefully this phone tastes as good as it looks. I plan on boiling it. Will post youtube video when I get a chance.
It is bricked, my friend. If you don't have the required JTAG equipment, just take it to LG service center and tell them you woke up in the morning and found it like this.

When you switch it on, Can you get the device into the bootloader?
Remove the battery (if you know that you had fastboot enabled) and then power on the device while holding the "volume down" button, what happens, does this work?
Daft question: but are you sure that there is any power in the battery? best to plug it into the mains charger just in case.

Strange one....
Just to establish base facts, I'm guessing that your phone was still running the ROM that you bought it with? and that you didn't root it and haven't made if S-OFF recently?
So ultimately you should still have a valid warranty? and if needed will at least be able to return it for service?
ya my phone is under warranty and i have not rooted it or applied any kind of mod whatsoever,, have done nothing other than few market apps..
its not responding at all...
will take it to service center tomorrow.. thanks...

Your problem sounds similar to this problem which also appeared to be caused by the market downloads and was discovered to be caused by a faulty eMMC chip, although with the users problem his phone would turn on - unlike yours...
Thanks it all seems so technical,, MY phone is not showing any sign of booting ,, not even a flash of light,,, i think it might be hard bricked d/t some hardware crash.. lets c what the service centre people say..
Wish you the best of luck with them

Power button not working! HELP!

I was using the phone normally and all of a sudden my screen wouldn't turn off when I pressed the power button. I tried for a while and it finally did. For 2 hours after that, 4-5 presses of the power button put my phone to sleep/wake.
Now it's absolutely not responding! I can't even use it to power on my phone(I could do it through usb but I would rather have the power button back working).
HELP!!!
It's not working in recovery either. Can this be deemed as a hardware problem?
yes its hardware problem
give it to samsung care
Apparently the switch was shorted. Got it replaced with the volume down switch for now. A new switch will arrive 2 days from now so my volume down will be back.
Quick question -- Can undervolting cause these kind of problems?
Thanks.
help
help me!! same happened to me :/ I tried relocking bootloader and I can't. should I send it to Samsung ?
If you have Cyanogen on your Nexus you can apply an option which wakes up your phone with volume buttons
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
I was on the carbon series rom but then the power button stopped working so I restored to stock rom and was hoping to lock bootloader but while in fastboot mode volume keys don't work either so I can't select anything

You don't have to send it back to Samsung. Go to some electronics service center guy who knows his stuff. They'll just replace the switch.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Until then you can use this app called "fix broken power". It'll let you unlock using volume buttons.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Yeah thanks I'd rather get it fixed in one day instead of sending it out

get it fixed at some electronics store. cost me just Rs. 800 (around $17).
@ anirudh- oh ok .....what was the exact problem??
I think I am beginning to suffer from this as well. Sometimes the power button won't respond and then it would randomly (after a few presses mostly) bring up the phone options menu. I am considering sending it back to Samsung for repair.
@ anirudh- i bought the phone from the US. Hence will i able to give the phone for repair in bangalore samsung service centre?

Mine was bought in US too. I went to a local mobile service center and got it done. So not necessarily a Samsung service center. Just take it to any guy who can handle smartphones. There's bound to be quite a lot in Bangalore.
My problem? Power button didnt respond until 4-5 presses and eventually died out. The guy said the power button switch got shorted. No idea how and why. Got a new switch and replaced it.
Qick OT: WTF is wrong with those power buttons in nexus devices?! N1 had issues with power button too!
Sorry for OT, I had to share my thoughts on this
@ anirudh- do you know any place in bangalore where they can replace the power button??
also how do i root my phone?
For rooting check the development forum here. It's pretty easy. As for repair, I've no idea about service centers in Bangalore. Sorry.

[Q] Need help recovering from QPST -URGENT-

Hey guys I need some help asap! I have had my Nexus 5 for about 2 weeks now. I had rooted it and put in cwm recovery. The other day I had switched over art from Dalvik. Later in the day I was using linux deploy from the app store. About an hour after when i was browsing the web the device returned an error stating that the devices memory was full..... I knew there was no way. I powered off the device and that was the last of it. It does not power on in the traditional sense it does not go into recovery it does not go into fastboot and it certainly not the OS. Just a black screen. However it does get recognized as a QHUSB device when connected to a PC after fussing with the drivers adb or fastboot drivers no matter the version do not work the device will appear in device manager as though it is there but running adb devices or fastboot devices returns no devices. After extensive driver version attempts and toold nexus rootkit etc i have found that the slightly responsive driver for anything is the LG AndroidNet Diagnostic driver. Although QPST hangs when trying to download via Sahara and CDMA workshop will connect but it does it fails when trying to read from phone. I know there are tools for devices in the same situation. Is there one for the nexus 5? Or can someone help me recover this bad boy? This version is the google play version and not the t-mobile or sprint variant. HEEELP!!!!!!!!!! Thanks.
Try to turn off your phone. I know it looks like it is turned off but it's not. Press power button about 10secs then release it and then press and hold it with the two volume keys. You should find yourself in the bootloader and there you could flash stock rom back.
If that not works. Connect the phone to the pc. Open up device manager. Press and hols power button and when the qhusb dissapears press and hold both volume keys while you still pressing the power key. You may end up again in qhsusb, try to wait a little bit more with the pressing both volume keys after each try.
I hope it will work, but I know a guy who bricked his device like you with cwm, his phone also appears as qhusb device on the pc and he could not recover.
Tha last thing you can do is send it back to google to recive a replacement device.

Thank you, I have tried that and it does not work. My fear is that I will not be able to return as I have pulled the battery and have custom software.
I was hoping there was some way to recover when the device is in the LG Android diagnostic mode.

If there is no traces or signs you removed the battery (like finger prints or damaged back cover) then google will never find out you have custom rom on your device, because they cant turn it on. It does not worth the effort to google to somehow hack the data out from the broken flash chip. What they will do is that they try to turn it on, then they see it is not possible so they flas stock rom through qhusb ans that wipes all the data of your phone and reformat everything. Or maybe unbricking the device does not wort the effort too and google just send you a replacement device.

You are asking for help with it. To answer your question. It's called jtag and lots of people know how to do it. I'd look for "mobile tech videos". QHUSB is a true brick.
EDIT: Or you could just RMA it. I think that might have been what you where asking to begin with. lol
@joutcast dude it sounds bricked. I'm sure Google will give you another device if you RMA it.
I'm very serious. Im Not being smart about it. I highly doubt Google will do anything to check unless you left obvious traces of it being tampered.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
You need to JTAG it. It'll cost you about $65 and you'll have a working phone again. I'd check craigslist for JTAG in your area, a lot of people are doing it now.
And stop being so sensitive.
Work the problem and not each other.

Sensitivity is what I do best LOL. I went ahead with the RMA route and have been with out a phone for over 15 days. The reason being I am unemployed and could not afford the $450 for an advanced replacement. I still have not heard a peep out of Google as to when I can even think about getting a tracking number from them..... What cracks me up is the fact that if I had done an advanced RMA the hold on my card would of fallen off a long time ago and at that point they still would not have any security on the device. Not only that they have had my phone since Tuesday of this week.

Nexus 5 repeatedly shows Google logo

My Nexus 5 is stuck on boot loop. It won't turn on its own. The moment i connect to a charger, the Google logo flashes and the phone vibrates and after a few seconds does the same thing. Please help. I am unable to go to the recovery screen either. Please help if any of you have faced similar issues. I am in India. 16 GB Nexus 5, bought in January.

Sounds like the power button is stuck. Try pushing it hard many times but you'll probably have to have it replaced.

Well i banged the phone down on sofa in frustration. And now its back to working normally. Spoke to Google Play support as well and they suggested to keep the phone in Safe Mode and observe if it happens again. I think its a loose power button problem and not really anything to do with the apps or S/W. What do you guys suggest?

Since it's up and running now, you can't technically file a RMA. If this issue pops up again, instead of banging your phone, call support and setup RMA.

Wish i knew that before. Now i have 2 months left of warranty and i don't know what to do?
If it is good til your warranty expires... Then acts up. It can be fixed for a reasonable cost.
